Yall are forgetting something, Ray and Sand were not in a relationship back when Ray liked Mew and now they are. Yall cannot ask for a healthy relationship between Ray and Sand then complain when Ray sets healthy boundaries. What is wrong with him not wanting his boyfriend to entertain his ex who clearly wants him back ? Ray was completely right for calling out Sand like that , Sand was not dealing with Boeing at all so Ray had to give him that ultimatum.

That whole scene made no sense. Like I still pretend it didn't happen because 90 percent of ep 12 felt like a different show from the previous episodes . But yes I'd be mad if my man can't answer a question about loving his ex

I love your reactions and discussions! I think Only Friends,, although very imperfect (I'm a screenwriter and my fingers were shaking with anxiety, because my brain was just like "this is on the right path, but it needs a couple rewrites!!!!"), was a good and fun show and I also think it was an important show. I think it's one of those series that is attempting to bridge the gap between what people consider to be BL and what people consider to be queer media. Given the surprindingly conservative sociocultural context in which the series is made and the circumstances (budget limitations, it being on youtube and very young audience), it managed to bring very bold, very relevant themes to the forefront and it gave a very good challenge for the actors. I think the cast and crew worked really hard and I love that this series inspired lots of conversation about the plot, character motivations and themes, like substance abuse, consent, monogamy etc. I only hope there's a season 2 if they get to have more time, more money and more depth in the storyline - but either way, I'll def be seated lol.
Oh very good points about the context. I thought he had free creative reign but perhaps there’s still a lot of things to consider - though the more explicit sex stuff would have warranted an older audience surely.

I really appreciate the Bostan character being in this and how the relationships he had went. I was really scared that he was just gonna have the typical BL redemption/fix and magically everything is good and he a good bf and person but they kept it realistic and didn't make Boston just "misunderstood", didn't "fix" him or make him just a villain. It felt realistic how he was, "developed" and how things ended. We don't even know if he at all really care about anyone because we only saw him care to try and say sorry or fix things when it became a problem for him and what he wants and needs. Others could be really hurt and sad and he showed no empathy or remorse at all toward Nick or his friends. He kinda looked a bit down and miserable at times but only when things were taken away from him, never because his actions hurt someone else. Maybe he can work on himself and be better but also maybe he is even worse than what we've seen this far. He has everything incommon with domestic abusers that usually just get worse and often are incapable of changing. I liked a lot about Boston too, one of my favorite characters, even though he is a big red flag.
This was such a great show and I loved seeing your reaction/discussions every week! I feel like you guys had such great analysis of the characters and while I didn't always agree with everything you said, I loved hearing your point of views. I was really happy that Sand and Ray ended up together and that Nick chose himself! I saw Nick rejecting the picture a bit different. Throughout the last two episodes Boston and Nick went on a lot of dates and Boston took tons of pictures of Nick fully clothed. Boston even commented that his SD card was full of just pictures of Nick. So why then did Boston choose to frame and give Nick the picture of him on the bed? Why wasn't it one of the cute pictures from when they went skating? I think Nick understood from the picture that Boston would always see him in certain parameters and it wasn't what he wanted so in turn he didn't take the picture. The picture was definitely a reminder of a time where he let his desire for someone else overshadow his self-love and he didn't want a reminder of that. Sand and Ray were really the only couple I was rooting for and their relationship felt very earned and complex. I was fine with Top and Mew breaking up or staying together. While I will say they did the work to find their way back together, there was just something missing for me with this couple. Boeing was definitely malicious to me but there was hurt behind it. From his point of view, he left Sand for Top who dumped him after three months. I think he could initially stomach that because it was a known fact that Top does that to everyone; but then to see Top making an effort with Mew put him over the edge. So yeah he did run back and try to get back with Sand because he knew Sand would always do his best with him. He is super selfish though because like Mew said, I don't think he was in love with Sand, he just wanted the comfort and devotion he knew Sand could give him. I felt like Boeing was a weird amalgamation of Boston, Ray and Episode 1 top. He was selfish like Boston and episode 1 Top, had Ray's confidence, self-destructive and needy behaviors and Top's pride. It was curious that he said Ray wasn't Sand's type since I do see specks of Ray in Boeing lol.

I do see how Boston seeing Nick’s beauty in his sexuality vs boyfriend potential is represented in that frame - there’s definitely a lot that could be interpreted that Nick could have stated.
Despite Boston's transparency about his sexual nature, his other behaviors have to be defined as dysfunctional and as dishonest as other members in his circle. He lied about Ray and Mew having sex to manipulate Sand and Top to serve his desires. Without question, that lie was substantial and it almost wrecked Top's and Sand's relationships. No matter how you spin it, Boston repeatedly bent the truth as he manipulated Nick to stay in his life. Hell, he even lied in this episode when he told Boeing making out with him was permitted because he has an understanding with his boyfriend (that never happened). While I give vent to your opinions that Boston is the most honest person in the series, your opinions must be based on the words that actually came from Boston's mouth. Hold up, Edison was correct because Boston lied about using the bathroom. Stop deflecting from your initial comments, DC and Topher. And let me add this, in Episode 11 (section 3, 11:04), Boston told Nick, "I will only sleep with you" after asking him to be his boyfriend until he moves to NYC. So, Nick did not misunderstand Boston's meaning of "boyfriend". Again, focus on Boston's words and his lies. Finally, thank you..... I really enjoyed your reaction to this series.
I think that even if Nick and Boston had a conversation, I very much doubt that Nick meant he'd be ok with Boston leaving him in the middle of a date to have a quickie with someone else in the bathroom. I liked the way the show ended. Though I'm biased, because everyone else could have died in Top and Mew's apartment fire, and as long as Sand and Ray ended up together, I would have been fine. I think Sand and Ray complement each other, because Sand forces Ray to think about other people besides himself, and Ray forces Sand to think about himself and not only others. I liked that Ray stopped Sand from quitting his whole life to help Ray's sobriety. I really enjoyed watching your reactions and hearing your discussions.
I'm honestly happy where all the couples ended, many people aren't happy with bostonNick ending just cuz they thought boston had changed? Idk when that happened but ok... I wasnt buying it and am so happy for Nick choosing himself. I was rooting for SandRay since the start and I love them... loved that Ray's addiction was addressed cuz we dont see that often. Too many people hate TopMew and while I wasn't the biggest fan of them, i loved them by the end, i saw Top's sincerity and I personally wouldn't forgive a cheater but I like that they were able to make me see his efforts. Overall I enjoyed the series, it started so many convos and I enjoyed seeing so many different perspectives, even if I didn't agree with them... I never watch series like this (cant handle messiness) but this was well done. There were some things left undone, but I dont expect any series to be perfect. Also thank u guyss for the reactions!! @@sabcam2000my guess is that he is in some kind of outpatients treatment programme. I'm not from Thailand so I can't speak for treatment for Alcohol addiction in Thailand, but I have read that there is an option for outpatients programme in Thailand if you can't commit to full impatient. I can only guess that Ray is reducing his alcohol intake because going cold turkey can be dangerous. It wasn't made clear (if that was what they were doing with Rays addiction).

I think Nick asked Boston if he is sleeping with anyone else when they were at the pool a few episodes ago and Boston said that he had 3 people he slept with but after he got filmed he was only sleeping with Nick (and he also said he realised he felt empty speeling with other people)... I might remember it wrong but IMO that is why everyone, us and Nick, thought that Boston can be monogamous.

Well it took us 12 episodes, but we finally figured out which character each of you are... DC and Topher are clearly Mew trying to bully Edison/Top into being a better and more empathetic person! Making him apologise to Sand and becoming friends with ray 😅
I feel like this episode really wanted to paint Boston as the villain of the show. Because look at the final scene. Everyone is together and happy while Boston is all alone, almost to say they were all better off without him and he was the problem. And Boston being alone was his punishment
He wasn’t a villian, but he also needed to realize that just apologizing isn’t enough. He didn’t care how other people felt and that’s what he needed to work on. It would have been annoying to see him “happy” at the end when he hasn’t tried to fix any of the problems he has caused or was a part of, when lots of the other characters had.
I just noticed how Ray could have said to Mew the words he said to Sand "The old flames that want too reignite they're gonna have to deal with me" Even back when mew was supposed to be his 'boyfriend' but refused to get more intimate with him
*COMMENT 2/4 - I HAD TO BREAK MY COMMENT UP IN FOUR PARTS, OYHERWISE YT WOULDN'T ALLOW ME TO POST IT* Sorry for the inconvenience! *Top and Mew* : Besides the fact, that I persoanlly think moving in with someone so quickly after such a big breach of trust is a bad idea, I am happy with where they're at. And I liked that they actually spend a fair amount of time and enegery aligning their expectations. That bodes well for the future. I didn't like it when Top referred to Mew as his new "sleeping pill" though. I think it's ment to be a cute thing, but it is also essentially how he perceived Boeing, and being treated that way, made Boeing feel like crap. So I hope Top doesn't repeat that mistake! Also, just like Mew should try and avoid bringing up the past in future arguments, Top shouldn't playfully tease Mew by saying he was "sulking" - that belittles Mew's valid emotions. I don't really understand the purpose of the fire scene either, it felt so irrelevant and so unnecessarry. The only thing it showed us was Top dealing with the situation responsably and not panicking, which suggest growth and him overcoming the trauma maybe? But for me, the whole conversation afterwards felt more like the narrative of romaticising that love/th right man fixed the problem, which of course is a classic BL trope. So That was a very lame end scene for their couple, I think.
I was thinking about this show while reading about the death of Matthew Perry. I guess I want another season but I'm not 100%. Thanks for the interesting comments. It's been a crazy 12 weeks.
You guys are the most well balanced group of reactors I've come across regarding this series. The most important thing you don't do is attack your audience. Maybe it's maturity or just having the ability to absorb others perspective even if you don't agree with them. I'm happy the way all of the couples ended up. I know a lot of people are upset that Nick and Boston didn't end up together and even dived into conspiracy theories that accuse the director and writers for "caving in" to certain viewers. I don't see it that way. Maybe it's because I'm a half full type of person. I think there is a couple of reasons why Nick and Boston ending made sense, the first one being they are a new ship. This show clearly shows their chemistry and how well they were received. They didn't have this info at the time of writing this show. Now they have a chance to explore them in maybe a part 2 or their own series which I'm for 100%. Neo is new to me. Even though I saw Eclipse, he didn't stand out to me. But he knocked it out of the park on this show. Now I'm a huge fan. Nick got on my radar in Moonlight Chicken and to see his range in this show was awesome. Kudos to you guys. Nick and Boston’s ending made a lot of sense in that love sometimes isn’t enough to change who you are. It’s a refreshing and mature take. We’re watching 7 days before Valentine next! And that he actually decided to close the door to Boston completly this time around. In some ways I wish we would have gotten a happy ending for him and Daddy-Dan, because Hello Daddy (!), but realisticy Nick really needs to take some time and explore some self-love and find value in himself before he enters into something new. And he still has along way to go, because even in their final couple scene, he is still in the mindset of letting Boston of the hook ("Don't blame yourself") and blaming himself and apologising for who he is, when he refers to himself as a daydreamer. Boston. Boston, Boston, Boston.... What are we gonna do with you? First of all, hats of to Neo! He has really done an amazing job. His growth as an actor, taking on a character like this has really surprised me. I did not see that coming. He's always been the type cast for comic relief - but this really puts him on the map! But at the same time, the "framing" of Boston is probably also the one that has frustrated me the most. Because it feels half hearted. Like they either didnt care to make him 3 dimensional or they didn't dare to take the plunge with him, to go all the way, and so they left him incoherent. The way he is written is as if the writer never really made up their mind, if he was gonna be someone looking for a polyamerous relationship, an open relationship or if he's actually just a pr*ck. In my opinion Boston "reads" as someone with a dissocial personality disorder, like a pshychopath. He shares all of the tell-signs and characteristics of one: He is very charming, but highly manipulative. He is very self absorbed and assertive. He has a minimal amount of empathy, and doesn't care how his actions affect others. He doesn't care about other peoples feelings and he doesn't take responsability of his actions - instead he tries to manipulate or gaslight others around him to submit to his way of thinking. He doesn't know how to create substainable relationships, and he also has a very high sexual drive/boardering on a sex addict. He doesn't know basic social cues, and he doesn't take social norm into consideration in the choices he makes. And he has a lack of emotional understanding for other peoples perspective and so he doesn't even understand or realise that his words are hurtful. And with that in mind, there really is no "redemption" for Boston, because he can't change. It's not a question of wanting to change, he doesn't have the ability. He can "play" the role for a while, but it will never stick. Even in that seemingly sweet scene where he ask Nick to be his boyfriend, he is still using the same sort of manipulating tactics, as he did in ep2-3. Back then he said to Nick "if you stay cute like, I'll keep coming around", and now he is balically saying "I'm chosing you because you stayed loyal despite the shit I put you through, unlike my friends" - both of those are backhanded compliments. And eventually he tries to squeeze himself out of taking accountability on kissing (+?) someone in the club, after he had already told Nick when he asked him to be his boyfriend, that from now on and until he leaves he would only be sleeping with him - meaning he had comitted to monogamy, so he definitly lied! And then he has the nerve to say "well if you love me, you have to accept that this is how I am" - like NO! Just no! I saw a comment somwhere, that JoJo (the creator of the show, and who's own college life, this story is based on - which may explain the similarities to Friend Zone) has said, that the reason why we don't get a background story for Boston, is because sometimes we don't need to know why someone is a bastard. I while I agree with that, I don't think it gives grace to a main character to have that approach. But it does explain why I feel like Boston is framed and explored half hearted. Which is sad, because they could have done so much more with him.
*COMMENT 4/4 - I HAD TO BREAK MY COMMENT UP IN FOUR PARTS, OTHERWISE YT WOULDN'T ALLOW ME TO POST IT* Sorry for the inconvenience! *Final thoughts on the side couples + supporting characters *: 1) *Cheum and April* - I wish we would have gotten just a bit more of the lesbians, as a cuple they were almost non existent. Their most significant scene was them resolving the issues Ray spilled right away, which served as a good example to all of us to follow, and a very non BL trope. I'm upset that Cheum didn't say anything to Atom about how wrong it is to accuse someone of SA, she let that slide to easy. 2) *Yo and Plug* - I really wanted to see more of their story, because I was hoping that we'd might get an actual storyline for a transexual character and insight into trans-life - that would have been ground breaking! Also, I don't recall any trans character in Not Me - I guess it's time for a rewatch! 3) *Atom* - They could have done more with him. The story of a "baby-gay" finding his legs, lashing on to his first, that could have made for an interesting story. But he didn't matter enough to do that. 4) *Boeing* - he was clearly an antagonist and chaos agent for the final episodes. I wish we would have gotten more back ground on him, on Sand and his relationship, and the siuation where Top "stole" him. That story felt undeveloped, and so we never really found out how much agency Boeing had in that whole situation. We never found out what his real agenda was either, it was just left undone. And as a result, Boeing's character became a little too one dimensional for me. Mond was HOT though! *Lastly* , I had very high expectations for this show. I think they started out trying to shake things up, to avoid the usual tropes and propose a new BL narrative. And to some extent, they succeded with that. But along the way, they also dropped the balls on a few of the heavyer topics, which was a bit dissapointing. But with 3 main couples, 2 side couples and 3 side characters with defining plot lines, I understand that there wasn't time to develop everything in 12 episodes. So as Topher said, they should have trimmed the fat, and dropped one or two of the added drama plots, and instead focoused on the character development of the main group. As for couple endgames - it ended as I predicted, with the "official ships" being together at the end. At the end of the day, this is still a BL, and I so there's an expectation that they will/have to end up together and have a happy ending. This is, i my opinion, one of the biggest inherent problems with the BL ships, that essentially we all know how it's gonna end before it begins, which means we root for them not matter what. At times we may have felt like non of these couples should really be together, but tbh if that had been the case, I think most of us would probably have been very dissapointed. Because the main draw of a BL is the Boys Love Story! 💟
Thanks for all of your reactions and analsys/viewpoints. Was great to watch along with you. For the show: It was pretty good, but definitely didn't surpass personal favourites like Bad Buddy or Moonlight Chicken. It would've had to dive a bit deeper into some of the characters and issues for that.
I love Boston but he definitely lied. There is a reason he lied about where he was. I think their definition of bf is different, Boston said he only does sweet things to Nick but with others it's just sex however Boston imo clearly knows that his definition is not the same as Nick's. I think Nick said I can't deal with who you are because I think he knew Boston was this kind of person but ignored certain signs because Boston made all this promises to him and kept offering him things that would indicate that until he leaves for NY it would just be them. Also Nick was literally at the same club on a date with him! Like it's not far fetched to expect your boyfriend to not make out with someone else in the club while you are literally there. Then Boston said ok ,I won't make out with anyone else when Nick broke it off ( he definitely knew what he was doing was wrong and Nick wouldn't like it just look at his reaction to Top while they were just FWB ..he went batshit crazy...I wish the writers had made it an open relationship or just made Boston say from the beginning "relationships are not for me" ...I think he wants the comfort of a relationship but still able to service the community with his D
I've seen so many people villifying Boston, and I'm glad you are not. He is a college-aged male f'ing everyone he can...WHICH is pretty common. Honestly, it's normal college behavior for many males and females in my experience. He has been honest about the fact that a monogamous relationship is NOT for him. Some people develop/grow into wanting a 1 person committed relationship, BUT some people will NEVER want that, and THAT IS PERFECTLY FINE! As long as ALL parties know and agree. Open, polyamorous relationships (etc) are just as real. Boston is not a horrible person for not fitting into teenage girls' fantasies about love, nor the fantasy that SEX=LOVE.
He definitely wasn’t a villian. But he also made no effort to fix the problems he caused or was a part of. And he wasn’t honest. He told Nick the last episode that he would only sleep with him. Nick had every right to be upset and disappointed that Boston broke that. If Boston wants an open relationship, he needs to communicate that. And he didn’t.

The skip to *February 2024* did feel sort of like a teaser for a season 2. And having Mix showing up, fine AF, flirting with Mew, saying the exact same line to him as Top did ep1, and Top giving jalous side eyes definitly suggested potential new drama. But even without that, there's is still so much left to explore, that one can only hope 🙏 *Sand and Ray* : I am very torn about their happy ending. I want to root for them, because I do see potential for them to be good for one another, and also I love FirstKhaotung and as BL fans we want a happy ending for their/our ship. But there are just so many things off with their - Sand and Ray's - interactions, that I am struggling. There are so many red flags. I completely understand what Ray was trying to do, challenging Sand in the pool, especially after realising that the dream he now shares with Sand origianally was Sand's dream with Boeing etc., that must have made him feel like a stand in and the added annoyance that Sand had actually dismissed him sending him home along, didn't really help Sand. So I like that he stood his ground, and told Sand that he needed him to chose between keeping him or keeping Boeing around, that he was not okey with the ex hanging around, especially when Boeing was clearly coming on to Sand. Of course in a real world he should have gone about this in a another manner, no scheming just an open and honest conversation for instance? But that seems to be a BL pipe dream. But I am concerned and annoyed by how the story is treating Ray's rehab and recovery. All in all I think the show did an abysmal way of portraying what rehab and recovery is like, both for the alcoholic and for their loved ones. The mistreated the whole thing! I was so happy to hear Sand say, that he should quit the bar and stop making booze, because that is the reality of life with an alcoholic, you have to make change too. It may seem unfair, but it is necessarry. So I have been waiting to see Sand make that adjustment and sacrifice. And while it is true, that Ray is gonna face temptation everywhere - his partner really shouldn't be the one to facilitate that temptation. Tbh I think there might be a very imortant plot issue that the show didn't deal with. Sand's mom knew (rightfully) that Sand was hiding somewhere quiet drinking alone, which means, Sand has a MO of using alchol as coping mechanism whenever things get tough. And that's the definition of an alcoholic. So despite the fact that he keeps telling Ray, that he doesn't have a problem, I'm not exactly sure if that's actually true, becasue we see him drink just as often as Ray does. So I think he has a problem. Maybe not to the same extent as Ray, but a problem nonetheless! So I feel like there is still a lot of stories left to be told about the two. They may seem "set" now, but there's still a lot of potential darkness that could come their way! Which is why they make me feel uneasy! As for their couple end scene, I'm dissapointed that Ray didn't put the top on the car - so they could finally have the car sex, they didn't get when Ray left to take care of Mew. That would have been a great way for them to come full circle and actually give throw back to how far they had come.
I’m kinda happy with some of the last episode (if it really is the only season) my MVP’s & CP KhaoFirst/RaySand ending up happy is all I really wanted, I got my man Neo, Drake, Mix, Mond & Papang & Nick you learn’t to Love Yourself, Speak Yourself & chose himself over Boston, Mark surprised me with his acting in this series, I found him very generic in everything I have seen him in since ITSAY but truthfully probably won’t be watching anymore ForceBook or Mark Series in the near future as TopMew & BostonNick annoyed me from Episode 1.
I’m probably the only one in the fandom that found MSP hella cringey & cheesy and just plain boring, just reminded me of when I first joined the BL World/fandom back in 2015 with Love Sick era and hoped we had moved on from that cliche high school/Uni genre but as per 2024 showcase has shown obviously not, so I am only watching about 4 series in Part 1 and hoping for something a bit spicier or mature in Part 2. 🤷♀️
Honestly, I dont think Ray and Sand are in love. I feel like, instead of the bathtub scene, Ray should have had a heart to heart. What was ray apologizing for and why just a single apology was enough for Sand to forgive him. I feel like Sand likes and care for Ray but is he in love yet? I dont think so. And ray, he was saying he couldnt even live without Sand but then with that issue with boeing , he was like ah yeah Sand might leave me but whatever. Did he really want Sand? I feel like even if sand left him, he would be fine. He wouldnt fight. And also- when did they become boyfriends? why was there no scene to show when did they get together? I feel like their love is very fragile. There are budding emotions but nothing too deep. I also hate how Sand was everyone's second choice. he is so fineeee why is he being pushed around??? ALSO I hated that whole bar scene of ray acting as if he isnt going to let boeing take Sand. why didnt he do that at the bar. Just confront right there. It made no sense to me. Top and mew are- I dunno why i lost interest in them. I feel like if they separated, i would have liked it more. them moving on. maybe get together in an year if there are still feelings. but like- ah also I like nick and boston's ending

Ray was completely right for calling out Sand like that , Sand was not dealing with Boeing at all so Ray had to give him that ultimatum.

I love your reactions and discussions! I think Only Friends,, although very imperfect (I'm a screenwriter and my fingers were shaking with anxiety, because my brain was just like "this is on the right path, but it needs a couple rewrites!!!!"), was a good and fun show and I also think it was an important show. I think it's one of those series that is attempting to bridge the gap between what people consider to be BL and what people consider to be queer media. Given the surprindingly conservative sociocultural context in which the series is made and the circumstances (budget limitations, it being on youtube and very young audience), it managed to bring very bold, very relevant themes to the forefront and it gave a very good challenge for the actors. I think the cast and crew worked really hard and I love that this series inspired lots of conversation about the plot, character motivations and themes, like substance abuse, consent, monogamy etc. I only hope there's a season 2 if they get to have more time, more money and more depth in the storyline - but either way, I'll def be seated lol.
Oh very good points about the context. I thought he had free creative reign but perhaps there’s still a lot of things to consider - though the more explicit sex stuff would have warranted an older audience surely.

I really appreciate the Bostan character being in this and how the relationships he had went. I was really scared that he was just gonna have the typical BL redemption/fix and magically everything is good and he a good bf and person but they kept it realistic and didn't make Boston just "misunderstood", didn't "fix" him or make him just a villain. It felt realistic how he was, "developed" and how things ended.
We don't even know if he at all really care about anyone because we only saw him care to try and say sorry or fix things when it became a problem for him and what he wants and needs. Others could be really hurt and sad and he showed no empathy or remorse at all toward Nick or his friends.
He kinda looked a bit down and miserable at times but only when things were taken away from him, never because his actions hurt someone else.
Maybe he can work on himself and be better but also maybe he is even worse than what we've seen this far. He has everything incommon with domestic abusers that usually just get worse and often are incapable of changing.
I liked a lot about Boston too, one of my favorite characters, even though he is a big red flag.
This was such a great show and I loved seeing your reaction/discussions every week! I feel like you guys had such great analysis of the characters and while I didn't always agree with everything you said, I loved hearing your point of views. I was really happy that Sand and Ray ended up together and that Nick chose himself! I saw Nick rejecting the picture a bit different. Throughout the last two episodes Boston and Nick went on a lot of dates and Boston took tons of pictures of Nick fully clothed. Boston even commented that his SD card was full of just pictures of Nick. So why then did Boston choose to frame and give Nick the picture of him on the bed? Why wasn't it one of the cute pictures from when they went skating? I think Nick understood from the picture that Boston would always see him in certain parameters and it wasn't what he wanted so in turn he didn't take the picture. The picture was definitely a reminder of a time where he let his desire for someone else overshadow his self-love and he didn't want a reminder of that.
Sand and Ray were really the only couple I was rooting for and their relationship felt very earned and complex. I was fine with Top and Mew breaking up or staying together. While I will say they did the work to find their way back together, there was just something missing for me with this couple. Boeing was definitely malicious to me but there was hurt behind it. From his point of view, he left Sand for Top who dumped him after three months. I think he could initially stomach that because it was a known fact that Top does that to everyone; but then to see Top making an effort with Mew put him over the edge. So yeah he did run back and try to get back with Sand because he knew Sand would always do his best with him. He is super selfish though because like Mew said, I don't think he was in love with Sand, he just wanted the comfort and devotion he knew Sand could give him. I felt like Boeing was a weird amalgamation of Boston, Ray and Episode 1 top. He was selfish like Boston and episode 1 Top, had Ray's confidence, self-destructive and needy behaviors and Top's pride. It was curious that he said Ray wasn't Sand's type since I do see specks of Ray in Boeing lol.

That’s a really cool analysis for the picture rejection and would have been great for them to go down that road. I do see how Boston seeing Nick’s beauty in his sexuality vs boyfriend potential is represented in that frame - there’s definitely a lot that could be interpreted that Nick could have stated.
Despite Boston's transparency about his sexual nature, his other behaviors have to be defined as dysfunctional and as dishonest as other members in his circle. He lied about Ray and Mew having sex to manipulate Sand and Top to serve his desires. Without question, that lie was substantial and it almost wrecked Top's and Sand's relationships. No matter how you spin it, Boston repeatedly bent the truth as he manipulated Nick to stay in his life. Hell, he even lied in this episode when he told Boeing making out with him was permitted because he has an understanding with his boyfriend (that never happened). While I give vent to your opinions that Boston is the most honest person in the series, your opinions must be based on the words that actually came from Boston's mouth. Hold up, Edison was correct because Boston lied about using the bathroom. Stop deflecting from your initial comments, DC and Topher. And let me add this, in Episode 11 (section 3, 11:04), Boston told Nick, "I will only sleep with you" after asking him to be his boyfriend until he moves to NYC. So, Nick did not misunderstand Boston's meaning of "boyfriend". Again, focus on Boston's words and his lies. Finally, thank you..... I really enjoyed your reaction to this series.
I think that even if Nick and Boston had a conversation, I very much doubt that Nick meant he'd be ok with Boston leaving him in the middle of a date to have a quickie with someone else in the bathroom. I liked the way the show ended. Though I'm biased, because everyone else could have died in Top and Mew's apartment fire, and as long as Sand and Ray ended up together, I would have been fine. I think Sand and Ray complement each other, because Sand forces Ray to think about other people besides himself, and Ray forces Sand to think about himself and not only others. I liked that Ray stopped Sand from quitting his whole life to help Ray's sobriety. I really enjoyed watching your reactions and hearing your discussions.

I'm honestly happy where all the couples ended, many people aren't happy with bostonNick ending just cuz they thought boston had changed? Idk when that happened but ok... I wasnt buying it and am so happy for Nick choosing himself.
I was rooting for SandRay since the start and I love them... loved that Ray's addiction was addressed cuz we dont see that often.
Too many people hate TopMew and while I wasn't the biggest fan of them, i loved them by the end, i saw Top's sincerity and I personally wouldn't forgive a cheater but I like that they were able to make me see his efforts.
Overall I enjoyed the series, it started so many convos and I enjoyed seeing so many different perspectives, even if I didn't agree with them... I never watch series like this (cant handle messiness) but this was well done. There were some things left undone, but I dont expect any series to be perfect.

@@sabcam2000my guess is that he is in some kind of outpatients treatment programme. I'm not from Thailand so I can't speak for treatment for Alcohol addiction in Thailand, but I have read that there is an option for outpatients programme in Thailand if you can't commit to full impatient.
I can only guess that Ray is reducing his alcohol intake because going cold turkey can be dangerous. It wasn't made clear (if that was what they were doing with Rays addiction).

I think Nick asked Boston if he is sleeping with anyone else when they were at the pool a few episodes ago and Boston said that he had 3 people he slept with but after he got filmed he was only sleeping with Nick (and he also said he realised he felt empty speeling with other people)... I might remember it wrong but IMO that is why everyone, us and Nick, thought that Boston can be monogamous.

I feel like this episode really wanted to paint Boston as the villain of the show. Because look at the final scene. Everyone is together and happy while Boston is all alone, almost to say they were all better off without him and he was the problem. And Boston being alone was his punishment
Ray is the real problem... and Boston too.
He wasn’t a villian, but he also needed to realize that just apologizing isn’t enough. He didn’t care how other people felt and that’s what he needed to work on. It would have been annoying to see him “happy” at the end when he hasn’t tried to fix any of the problems he has caused or was a part of, when lots of the other characters had.
I just noticed how Ray could have said to Mew the words he said to Sand "The old flames that want too reignite they're gonna have to deal with me" Even back when mew was supposed to be his 'boyfriend' but refused to get more intimate with him

*Top and Mew* : Besides the fact, that I persoanlly think moving in with someone so quickly after such a big breach of trust is a bad idea, I am happy with where they're at. And I liked that they actually spend a fair amount of time and enegery aligning their expectations. That bodes well for the future. I didn't like it when Top referred to Mew as his new "sleeping pill" though. I think it's ment to be a cute thing, but it is also essentially how he perceived Boeing, and being treated that way, made Boeing feel like crap. So I hope Top doesn't repeat that mistake! Also, just like Mew should try and avoid bringing up the past in future arguments, Top shouldn't playfully tease Mew by saying he was "sulking" - that belittles Mew's valid emotions.
I don't really understand the purpose of the fire scene either, it felt so irrelevant and so unnecessarry. The only thing it showed us was Top dealing with the situation responsably and not panicking, which suggest growth and him overcoming the trauma maybe? But for me, the whole conversation afterwards felt more like the narrative of romaticising that love/th right man fixed the problem, which of course is a classic BL trope. So That was a very lame end scene for their couple, I think.

You guys are the most well balanced group of reactors I've come across regarding this series. The most important thing you don't do is attack your audience. Maybe it's maturity or just having the ability to absorb others perspective even if you don't agree with them. I'm happy the way all of the couples ended up. I know a lot of people are upset that Nick and Boston didn't end up together and even dived into conspiracy theories that accuse the director and writers for "caving in" to certain viewers. I don't see it that way. Maybe it's because I'm a half full type of person.
I think there is a couple of reasons why Nick and Boston ending made sense, the first one being they are a new ship. This show clearly shows their chemistry and how well they were received. They didn't have this info at the time of writing this show. Now they have a chance to explore them in maybe a part 2 or their own series which I'm for 100%. Neo is new to me. Even though I saw Eclipse, he didn't stand out to me. But he knocked it out of the park on this show. Now I'm a huge fan. Nick got on my radar in Moonlight Chicken and to see his range in this show was awesome. Kudos to you guys. Please come together for Playboyy!

*Boston and Nick* : I am so happy that Nick finally decided to move on. And that he actually decided to close the door to Boston completly this time around. In some ways I wish we would have gotten a happy ending for him and Daddy-Dan, because Hello Daddy (!), but realisticy Nick really needs to take some time and explore some self-love and find value in himself before he enters into something new. And he still has along way to go, because even in their final couple scene, he is still in the mindset of letting Boston of the hook ("Don't blame yourself") and blaming himself and apologising for who he is, when he refers to himself as a daydreamer.
Boston. Boston, Boston, Boston.... What are we gonna do with you?
First of all, hats of to Neo! He has really done an amazing job. His growth as an actor, taking on a character like this has really surprised me. I did not see that coming. He's always been the type cast for comic relief - but this really puts him on the map!
But at the same time, the "framing" of Boston is probably also the one that has frustrated me the most. Because it feels half hearted. Like they either didnt care to make him 3 dimensional or they didn't dare to take the plunge with him, to go all the way, and so they left him incoherent. The way he is written is as if the writer never really made up their mind, if he was gonna be someone looking for a polyamerous relationship, an open relationship or if he's actually just a pr*ck.
In my opinion Boston "reads" as someone with a dissocial personality disorder, like a pshychopath. He shares all of the tell-signs and characteristics of one:
He is very charming, but highly manipulative. He is very self absorbed and assertive. He has a minimal amount of empathy, and doesn't care how his actions affect others. He doesn't care about other peoples feelings and he doesn't take responsability of his actions - instead he tries to manipulate or gaslight others around him to submit to his way of thinking. He doesn't know how to create substainable relationships, and he also has a very high sexual drive/boardering on a sex addict. He doesn't know basic social cues, and he doesn't take social norm into consideration in the choices he makes. And he has a lack of emotional understanding for other peoples perspective and so he doesn't even understand or realise that his words are hurtful.
And with that in mind, there really is no "redemption" for Boston, because he can't change. It's not a question of wanting to change, he doesn't have the ability. He can "play" the role for a while, but it will never stick. Even in that seemingly sweet scene where he ask Nick to be his boyfriend, he is still using the same sort of manipulating tactics, as he did in ep2-3. Back then he said to Nick "if you stay cute like, I'll keep coming around", and now he is balically saying "I'm chosing you because you stayed loyal despite the shit I put you through, unlike my friends" - both of those are backhanded compliments. And eventually he tries to squeeze himself out of taking accountability on kissing (+?) someone in the club, after he had already told Nick when he asked him to be his boyfriend, that from now on and until he leaves he would only be sleeping with him - meaning he had comitted to monogamy, so he definitly lied! And then he has the nerve to say "well if you love me, you have to accept that this is how I am" - like NO! Just no!
I saw a comment somwhere, that JoJo (the creator of the show, and who's own college life, this story is based on - which may explain the similarities to Friend Zone) has said, that the reason why we don't get a background story for Boston, is because sometimes we don't need to know why someone is a bastard. I while I agree with that, I don't think it gives grace to a main character to have that approach. But it does explain why I feel like Boston is framed and explored half hearted. Which is sad, because they could have done so much more with him.

*Final thoughts on the side couples + supporting characters *: 1) *Cheum and April* - I wish we would have gotten just a bit more of the lesbians, as a cuple they were almost non existent. Their most significant scene was them resolving the issues Ray spilled right away, which served as a good example to all of us to follow, and a very non BL trope. I'm upset that Cheum didn't say anything to Atom about how wrong it is to accuse someone of SA, she let that slide to easy. 2) *Yo and Plug* - I really wanted to see more of their story, because I was hoping that we'd might get an actual storyline for a transexual character and insight into trans-life - that would have been ground breaking! Also, I don't recall any trans character in Not Me - I guess it's time for a rewatch! 3) *Atom* - They could have done more with him. The story of a "baby-gay" finding his legs, lashing on to his first, that could have made for an interesting story. But he didn't matter enough to do that. 4) *Boeing* - he was clearly an antagonist and chaos agent for the final episodes. I wish we would have gotten more back ground on him, on Sand and his relationship, and the siuation where Top "stole" him. That story felt undeveloped, and so we never really found out how much agency Boeing had in that whole situation. We never found out what his real agenda was either, it was just left undone. And as a result, Boeing's character became a little too one dimensional for me. Mond was HOT though!
*Lastly* , I had very high expectations for this show. I think they started out trying to shake things up, to avoid the usual tropes and propose a new BL narrative. And to some extent, they succeded with that. But along the way, they also dropped the balls on a few of the heavyer topics, which was a bit dissapointing. But with 3 main couples, 2 side couples and 3 side characters with defining plot lines, I understand that there wasn't time to develop everything in 12 episodes. So as Topher said, they should have trimmed the fat, and dropped one or two of the added drama plots, and instead focoused on the character development of the main group.
As for couple endgames - it ended as I predicted, with the "official ships" being together at the end. At the end of the day, this is still a BL, and I so there's an expectation that they will/have to end up together and have a happy ending. This is, i my opinion, one of the biggest inherent problems with the BL ships, that essentially we all know how it's gonna end before it begins, which means we root for them not matter what. At times we may have felt like non of these couples should really be together, but tbh if that had been the case, I think most of us would probably have been very dissapointed. Because the main draw of a BL is the Boys Love Story! 💟
Thanks for all of your reactions and analsys/viewpoints. Was great to watch along with you. For the show: It was pretty good, but definitely didn't surpass personal favourites like Bad Buddy or Moonlight Chicken. It would've had to dive a bit deeper into some of the characters and issues for that.
I love Boston but he definitely lied. There is a reason he lied about where he was. I think their definition of bf is different, Boston said he only does sweet things to Nick but with others it's just sex however Boston imo clearly knows that his definition is not the same as Nick's. I think Nick said I can't deal with who you are because I think he knew Boston was this kind of person but ignored certain signs because Boston made all this promises to him and kept offering him things that would indicate that until he leaves for NY it would just be them. Also Nick was literally at the same club on a date with him! Like it's not far fetched to expect your boyfriend to not make out with someone else in the club while you are literally there. Then Boston said ok ,I won't make out with anyone else when Nick broke it off ( he definitely knew what he was doing was wrong and Nick wouldn't like it just look at his reaction to Top while they were just FWB ..he went batshit crazy...I wish the writers had made it an open relationship or just made Boston say from the beginning "relationships are not for me" ...I think he wants the comfort of a relationship but still able to service the community with his D
I've seen so many people villifying Boston, and I'm glad you are not.
He is a college-aged male f'ing everyone he can...WHICH is pretty common. Honestly, it's normal college behavior for many males and females in my experience.
He has been honest about the fact that a monogamous relationship is NOT for him.
Some people develop/grow into wanting a 1 person committed relationship, BUT some people will NEVER want that, and THAT IS PERFECTLY FINE!
As long as ALL parties know and agree. Open, polyamorous relationships (etc) are just as real.
Boston is not a horrible person for not fitting into teenage girls' fantasies about love, nor the fantasy that SEX=LOVE.
He definitely wasn’t a villian. But he also made no effort to fix the problems he caused or was a part of.
And he wasn’t honest. He told Nick the last episode that he would only sleep with him. Nick had every right to be upset and disappointed that Boston broke that. If Boston wants an open relationship, he needs to communicate that. And he didn’t.

The skip to *February 2024* did feel sort of like a teaser for a season 2. And having Mix showing up, fine AF, flirting with Mew, saying the exact same line to him as Top did ep1, and Top giving jalous side eyes definitly suggested potential new drama. But even without that, there's is still so much left to explore, that one can only hope 🙏
*Sand and Ray* : I am very torn about their happy ending. I want to root for them, because I do see potential for them to be good for one another, and also I love FirstKhaotung and as BL fans we want a happy ending for their/our ship. But there are just so many things off with their - Sand and Ray's - interactions, that I am struggling. There are so many red flags.
I completely understand what Ray was trying to do, challenging Sand in the pool, especially after realising that the dream he now shares with Sand origianally was Sand's dream with Boeing etc., that must have made him feel like a stand in and the added annoyance that Sand had actually dismissed him sending him home along, didn't really help Sand. So I like that he stood his ground, and told Sand that he needed him to chose between keeping him or keeping Boeing around, that he was not okey with the ex hanging around, especially when Boeing was clearly coming on to Sand. Of course in a real world he should have gone about this in a another manner, no scheming just an open and honest conversation for instance? But that seems to be a BL pipe dream.
But I am concerned and annoyed by how the story is treating Ray's rehab and recovery. All in all I think the show did an abysmal way of portraying what rehab and recovery is like, both for the alcoholic and for their loved ones. The mistreated the whole thing! I was so happy to hear Sand say, that he should quit the bar and stop making booze, because that is the reality of life with an alcoholic, you have to make change too. It may seem unfair, but it is necessarry. So I have been waiting to see Sand make that adjustment and sacrifice. And while it is true, that Ray is gonna face temptation everywhere - his partner really shouldn't be the one to facilitate that temptation.
Tbh I think there might be a very imortant plot issue that the show didn't deal with. Sand's mom knew (rightfully) that Sand was hiding somewhere quiet drinking alone, which means, Sand has a MO of using alchol as coping mechanism whenever things get tough. And that's the definition of an alcoholic. So despite the fact that he keeps telling Ray, that he doesn't have a problem, I'm not exactly sure if that's actually true, becasue we see him drink just as often as Ray does. So I think he has a problem. Maybe not to the same extent as Ray, but a problem nonetheless! So I feel like there is still a lot of stories left to be told about the two. They may seem "set" now, but there's still a lot of potential darkness that could come their way! Which is why they make me feel uneasy!
As for their couple end scene, I'm dissapointed that Ray didn't put the top on the car - so they could finally have the car sex, they didn't get when Ray left to take care of Mew. That would have been a great way for them to come full circle and actually give throw back to how far they had come.
I’m kinda happy with some of the last episode (if it really is the only season) my MVP’s & CP KhaoFirst/RaySand ending up happy is all I really wanted, I got my man Neo, Drake, Mix, Mond & Papang & Nick you learn’t to Love Yourself, Speak Yourself & chose himself over Boston, Mark surprised me with his acting in this series, I found him very generic in everything I have seen him in since ITSAY but truthfully probably won’t be watching anymore ForceBook or Mark Series in the near future as TopMew & BostonNick annoyed me from Episode 1.
Oh I thought Mark was great in My School President. I had no idea he was in ITSAY 👀
I’m probably the only one in the fandom that found MSP hella cringey & cheesy and just plain boring, just reminded me of when I first joined the BL World/fandom back in 2015 with Love Sick era and hoped we had moved on from that cliche high school/Uni genre but as per 2024 showcase has shown obviously not, so I am only watching about 4 series in Part 1 and hoping for something a bit spicier or mature in Part 2. 🤷♀️
Mew has all the right to feel how he feels but i dont agree with how he treated boston
Honestly, I dont think Ray and Sand are in love. I feel like, instead of the bathtub scene, Ray should have had a heart to heart. What was ray apologizing for and why just a single apology was enough for Sand to forgive him.
I feel like Sand likes and care for Ray but is he in love yet? I dont think so.
And ray, he was saying he couldnt even live without Sand but then with that issue with boeing , he was like ah yeah Sand might leave me but whatever. Did he really want Sand? I feel like even if sand left him, he would be fine. He wouldnt fight. And also- when did they become boyfriends? why was there no scene to show when did they get together? I feel like their love is very fragile. There are budding emotions but nothing too deep.
I also hate how Sand was everyone's second choice. he is so fineeee why is he being pushed around??? ALSO I hated that whole bar scene of ray acting as if he isnt going to let boeing take Sand. why didnt he do that at the bar. Just confront right there. It made no sense to me.
Top and mew are- I dunno why i lost interest in them. I feel like if they separated, i would have liked it more. them moving on. maybe get together in an year if there are still feelings. but like- ah
also I like nick and boston's ending
Ray had no character's growth, he just got worse.
I'm so over Ray I just don't like his character at all he frustrates me with everything he does...Sand should end up with Nick and I said what I said.

@jarritoe If ppl really think like this that's just weird...and your comparison Ray to Top I have to say If I'm Top I would be very insulted with that😁 for me Top is the person with one of the most significant character development in the series and I rly liked him.Ray has none, zero progression,zero self reflection. I rly have no idea why are ppl so ganged up against Top😄 a man made a mistake and tried to make up for it for the majority of this show...
