You know what makes this so special for me? Your complicity, the deep connection between you two! Thank you so much for sharing! (And you look awesome, both of you!)
You two should continue this for each decade from the 70's (my best decade) and onward! Sad to say first time I've seen any of these Guess That Song videos, but you both are so great together! Loved it. I didn't get many either, but it was fun to try. You two are so lovable and loved the wigs!
I like that you guys barely use any jump cuts. Your confidence that the show is entertaining enough to hold someone's attention - even when you're just considering the answer to a challenge - is appreciated. The pacing works well without having to cut out the little pauses that a more impatient editor usually would.
Not only did I get these (I was a teenager in the 80s) but Careless Whispers should have been Wham, not attributed directly to George Michael. The song was the last song on side 2 of "Make It Big". Funny how when I think of 70s and 80s music, I still think of "side 1" and "side 2". :) That went away once we all started buying CDs. And now with MP3, I guess the new generation wont even know about "albums", it is just individual songs.
It's usually credited as George Michael for some reason tho... I wasn't alive in the 80s so I don't know what it was originally but that's how it is today
Love the wigs, also, I think the fact that I grew up with a family who was big on trivia puts me in a different perspective, but these were absolutely harder, definitely gonna share with them to see how many they can guess!
1. Let's Dance - David Bowie 2. I got nothing. 3. I got nothing. 4. Kiss - Prince. 5. Red, Red, Wine - UB40. Round Two. 1. You Give Love a Bad Name? by Dunno… 2. Careless Whisper - George Michaels. 3. Straight Up - Paula Abdul. 4. Jump - Van Halen. 5. I Wanna Dance With Somebody - by I Don't Know.
I don't feel that much older than you two. But I was at Live Aid in Philly. At the age of 24. I remember these tunes on the now getting ancient format of local radio "featuring new Compact Disc sound" . I want to know how the hell did I get so old?
Now THIS decade I know. Almost 100% of titles and artists on just the short bits alone (for Jump I needed the long bit). These were my jams back in the day. :)
OMG!!!! I know it's telling my age but I got almost every single one of those on the short clip. The Jump short clip tripped me up. I'm sorry I 💓 the 80s! BTW, love the hair! 🤪
Next time use headphones guys. You still dub the laptop music anyway so why not have headphones on. You can sometimes even guess the song by the bass line which you can't even here with the macbook speakers. It would be more fair i think. love your videos and keep em coming :)
Bon Jovi - You give love a bad name (long) George Michael - Careless Whisper (short) ------- Van Halen - Jump (long) Whitney Houston - I wanna Dance with somebody (short)
Don't be so hard on yourself, Jack! It's tough to guess an entire song with 0.2 or 0.3 seconds -- especially if it's from a decade in which you weren't even born. I was able to recognize many of them, but I was a young man in the mid-80s. Still, I didn't guess them all. While in the military in the 80s, we listened to all that stuff on cassette tape with our Sony Walkmans. Before that, I also had 8-Track tapes and even records.
Jack has hair again! Sorta. As a former DJ, I knew most all of those; it's fun to watch you two torture yourselves. And, yeah, "Careless Whisper" was the second single from Wham! (Andrew Ridgeley was still around) back in '83.
15/20, not bad! Didn't get Madonna because Nataly said it too fast, but I got the song. Didn't get Prince at all, and didn't get Paula Abdul either. I managed to get everything else. Only ones I needed the longer hint for were UB40 and Van Halen. I also agree that Jack should always wear that wig.
Complaining about listening over laptop speakers?! I'm listening on the same model of laptop, and I'm 10/10 on 70s, 80s, and 90s. I can't believe I just discovered the "Mornings with Pomplamoose" channel - why did this end?!?
it's amazing how intense this is. how bummed jack is. how fans like to say how well they did. People trying to cheer jack up. btw -- bowie's let's dance had china girl on it. Who knew that the great lead guitarist every song--not famous yet--was stevie ray vaughn.
The fact humans made it to the point where wearing a single neon mesh fingerless glove was ever a thing makes me happier than words could say. Also my smug sense of music recognizing superiority is in ruins now I know you guys are only hearing it on laptop speakers...
Love the hair. But we already have a Mike Myers. He makes us laugh the same way you would if the hair was real. I wrote that?!! I was only supposed to think it.
Guy, guys, guys... I am so disappointed... I knew every tune but then again I am an 80's kinda guy. Love your work, did I say work?? What ever.. keep on grooving 🎤🎵🎶🔈🔉🔊
I love 80's music, but no shame in not easily guessing the songs. 80's music tends to have a few distinctive sounds for the genre, but not as many distinctive sounds for the individual pop songs.
Just a suggestion: Maybe if there was a way where the 'contestant' could be hearing the music through headphones while the rest of us could also hear it - that way it might be easier to hear all the finer nuances of the song and help it be easier to identify. Sorry/proud to say I smoked Jack hardcore in this round, usually on the very first listen. I was wearing headphones and I know the sound quality off a laptop speaker isn't always the best.
Guess The Song; 80s Edition 1. Let's Dance - David Bowie 2. Like A Prayer - Madonna 3. Beat It - Michael Jackson 4. Kiss - Prince & The Revolution 5. Red Red Wine - UB40 6. You Give Love A Bad Name - Bon Jovi 7. Careless Whisper - George Michael 8. Straight Up - Paula Abdul 9. Jump - Van Halen 10. I Wanna Dance With Somebody - Whitney Houston
I was screaming so loud XD Needless to say I am very disappoint, though I can understand the laptop speakers thing. But still, I friggin' love 80s music and was going out of my mind yelling all these.
NO!! The most embarrassing thing is that I pretty much got all of these and the 70's ones in the other vid....Thins making me feel incredibly old..... :D xx
I'm watching this and listening thru headphones. The only song I needed to hear the long bit to figure out what it is was Jump by Van Halen, and I'm not even bragging. Next challenge plug in some speakers!
Shit. I knew most, but I didn't recognise "Jump", even though it was a favourite of mine at the time. And the school right next to our house played it every year for the end-of-year party right up until 2010 (when they moved to another building.)
BEWARE! There be Spoilers below as I play along. 1. Knew it was David Bowie on the second clip. Didn't get the name of the song though. 2. I HEAR ANGELS CRYING! Didn't know the name or artist but knew the lyrics from the first clip, but I was tainted too much to say whether I would have figured it out on the second clip, and I love my Madonna, so ashamed. 3. Beat It - Michael Jackson. First Clip. 4. Kiss - Prince. First Clip. 5. Not a clue. Never heard of Song or Band. 1. SHOT THROUGH THE HEART! AND YOUR TOO BLAME! YOU GIVE LOVE A BAD NAME! Bon Jovi. First clip. 2. Sexy Saxaphone song? Guess that's wrong. I've heard the song a million times though. :/ 3. Paula Abdul second clip. Didn't know the song title. 4. Jump - Van Halen. Second Clip. 5. No idea. Feel bad now, not knowing Whitney.
I absolutely LOVED this episode. Even though I'm not an 80's kid, I got most of the songs right on the first try. Haha I'm going to play this game with my friends :)
You know what makes this so special for me? Your complicity, the deep connection between you two! Thank you so much for sharing! (And you look awesome, both of you!)
This was honestly hard to watch being an 80's kid..lol Love the hair guys.
I know, right. Got all but one on the short snippet. Dance with somebody was actually harder with the long snippet.
You two should continue this for each decade from the 70's (my best decade) and onward! Sad to say first time I've seen any of these Guess That Song videos, but you both are so great together! Loved it. I didn't get many either, but it was fun to try. You two are so lovable and loved the wigs!
I theorize that Jack's wig hair was interfering with his ability to recognize the clips.
Let's Dance by..... AC/DC???
and it's "let's Dance", not "dance"... no point for that
I lol'd at that.
That would be an awesome cover.
sacriledge
AC/DC is almost the opposite of David Bowie.
Jack, I could see tears coming off your mullet wig from sadness because of your performance.
RIP mullet wig... RIP
I vote that Jack should wear the wig on EVERY episode. :)
+KaaSerpent I second that.
@@GateGeek I VOTE THAT NAT SHOULD BE TOPLESS EVERY EPISODE

Pomplamoose need to go back to 80s school!
Wow. I paid way to much attention in the 80's to music. Got everyone of these on the sort bit.
No worries Jack, Nat missed MJ's Beat It so there can't be any winner really :)
Love the wigs, also, I think the fact that I grew up with a family who was big on trivia puts me in a different perspective, but these were absolutely harder, definitely gonna share with them to see how many they can guess!
You kids are lovely. Never stop doing what you're doing. :)
I really like these "guess that song" videos!
Jack are you serious you didn't get the Bon Jovi ? DUUUUUUDE
Or Van Halen. Super easy ones imo
Bowie! I'm sitting here screaming Bowie at the cat! Why can't you here me in RUclipss!
Poor Jack. Got Rekt. :( Great video guys! The wigs were bad ass.
Growing up in the 80s has given me an unfair advantage. The only one I missed was "Like a Prayer."
I can't believe either of you had trouble with any of these!
I had soooooo much fun trying to guess it at the same time than you guys! Loved it :D
BIG FAN!! got EM ALL EXCEPT THE LAST TWO!
I loooooooove this kind of game! thanks! do it more!
You guys need to make this game into an app.
barbaric37 tata
You guys are awwwfffuuuullll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D
With love,
Coz.
p.s. Let me play this with you somehow.
This is fun! We use to do this with 50 Rock n Roll then 60's Acid
1. Let's Dance - David Bowie 2. I got nothing. 3. I got nothing. 4. Kiss - Prince. 5. Red, Red, Wine - UB40. Round Two. 1. You Give Love a Bad Name? by Dunno… 2. Careless Whisper - George Michaels. 3. Straight Up - Paula Abdul. 4. Jump - Van Halen. 5. I Wanna Dance With Somebody - by I Don't Know.

Van Halen-Jump! jesus

I thought I knew nothing of the 80s but I got all of Jack's songs right away. How? I have no idea.
Next time use headphones guys. You still dub the laptop music anyway so why not have headphones on. You can sometimes even guess the song by the bass line which you can't even here with the macbook speakers. It would be more fair i think. love your videos and keep em coming :)
You guys are good sports. These vids are fun.
Just 7 more subs till you guys hit 5,000!!
Jack is the only person that would know the actual words to Careless Whisper.
its ok jackhahaa! and you two look awesome!! :')
That's why Jack is a genius! He doesn't recognize rock songs! He's not influenced by that. He's a pure musician! :-D
Are you saying... Rock is not music? *cough 50s moms cough* Seriously tho, what?
+Person Human If that were the case, I couldn't even be alive as a musician. Take it easy, man. :-) That was just a joke.
It was worth it for the wigs! It is strange seeing Jack with hair on his head!
I know it sounds stuck up, but I find it pretty funny that i don't like most of the songs that much but knew most of them. COME ON JACK!
Bon Jovi - You give love a bad name (long)
George Michael - Careless Whisper (short)
-------
Van Halen - Jump (long)
Whitney Houston - I wanna Dance with somebody (short)
I must be older than I thought, I knew all of them. :(
To be fair, I think Jack's were much harder, but good to see Nataly even the score with her 'studying'! (I got 7/10 on Nataly's and 4/10 on Jack's)
I'm also hearing this over laptop speakers. And I got them all.
You two make me feel old... :)
Oh Jack. Jack, no.
Great episode, though, guys. ;)
Tennessee Waterfall. Business in the front, party in the back!
Oh, I can't believe it! I caught all her songs at first hearing!
red red wine ~ :)
Love the bendy rules! :) hand lingers just over the buzzer!
Sorry Jack, but you didn't stand a chance against that Pink!
All that extra insulation made his brain overheat.
Jack never looked more Italian than he does in that wig. His nose becomes very Roman, especially in profile. Not a bad look.
Oh man you let me down...
Nataly's round I got 6 points
Jack's Round I got 6 points
I heart 80's music! :)
How did we never get a backwards 80s edition? Robbed.
Are you going to resurrect this? I've just found it and it's awesome, guys!
Got them all with the first bit except "Beat it". Then again, that's one of the few things I'm really good at. ;)
OMG SWEET JEEZUS MOTHER IN HEAVEN DAVID BOWIE DAVID BOWIE DAVID BOWIE DAVID BOWIE DAVID BOWIE🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️

I want to play board games with you two more than almost anything in the world! =D
Nataly kicked butt! Great job, NAT!😊
not a bad selection of board games
For the upcoming "80s Revenge Edition" you could have multiple 0.1s increments... you know, to make it fair ;)
I'm only 7 years older than Jack...but watching this I feel like that gap should be larger.
From Jack's songs, I only got Bon Jovi and Van Halen.
Don't feel embarrassed, Jack! I'm sure the laptop speakers didn't exactly help you either. :)
I think this might be a skill I didn't know I had. Only missed UB40 and Van Halen.
Jack has hair again! Sorta. As a former DJ, I knew most all of those; it's fun to watch you two torture yourselves. And, yeah, "Careless Whisper" was the second single from Wham! (Andrew Ridgeley was still around) back in '83.

If this was a real show I would be a champion

Love the hair. But we already have a Mike Myers. He makes us laugh the same way you would if the hair was real. I wrote that?!! I was only supposed to think it.
I want to apologize to Nat for screaming to the screen "It's Beat It!!!! BEAT IT!!! Come on!!! You know this. Dang it. Fuck your pain."
1. Let's dance - Bowie
Guy, guys, guys... I am so disappointed... I knew every tune but then again I am an 80's kinda guy.
Love your work, did I say work?? What ever.. keep on grooving 🎤🎵🎶🔈🔉🔊
i legit killed it on this.

I got them all! ... Damn I'm old as f***. I'm over the hill, gaining momentum down the other side.
Just a suggestion: Maybe if there was a way where the 'contestant' could be hearing the music through headphones while the rest of us could also hear it - that way it might be easier to hear all the finer nuances of the song and help it be easier to identify. Nataly's round was soo easy..?! I was born in 88 and I got most of these!
also; we love you jack. it's ok.
Shit. I knew most, but I didn't recognise "Jump", even though it was a favourite of mine at the time. And the school right next to our house played it every year for the end-of-year party right up until 2010 (when they moved to another building.)
Frankly the last one I was going for Cindy Lauper - Girls just want to have fun ! I would have totally blown it !
BEWARE! There be Spoilers below as I play along.

4. Jump - Van Halen. Second Clip.
5. No idea. Feel bad now, not knowing Whitney.
Pre-gaming isn't the same as cheating. I still say you owe her one from the episode two weeks ago... 😅
Nataly had it super easy (and still missed Bowie and MJ??), but come on Jack, up your 80's game, man!
:( it's OK Jack!! Nataly needs to be more supportive and Jack don't be too hard on yourself!!
Haha, loved this! But seriously? Those laptop speakers must have been terrible!
Wow I SUCK at trivia and I got all of those....dang!
5:26 omg it was in the clip! *face palm.
JACK! My man, what happened? Nataly may not have gotten "Beat It" but it's certainly what she did to this game. :)
Got all the artists but only a little over half the titles. myself.
I beat both of you LOL
It was so amusing watching this video! Keep the fun up, guys!
I absolutely LOVED this episode. Even though I'm not an 80's kid, I got most of the songs right on the first try. Haha I'm going to play this game with my friends :)
Wow, these are so easy! Then again I'm old.
Concordia, Powergrid, Catan, Cosmic Encounters and Codenames! You're not just awesome musicians. . You also play
boardgames! Can we be friends?
oh, she has absolute no idea from the 80s ... ha ha ha
but she's my favorite singer :)
