My high school calc teacher once told me that he passed all of his more challenging math classes with straight As while being a Math major by paying attention to the lecturer and ensuring he understood why things were done the way they did. His advice was to simply listen. I took his advice, and learning became much much easier for me even though I wasn't bad to begin with Now that I think about it, I have another friend who is quite witty and follows the same principle.
great! in maths it's even easier to fall into transcribing, so i'm glad you said this. perhaps your friends wittiness comes from their ability to understand social situations in a similar way
Wonderful video! I'm looking forward to integrating these tips in my learning. I find that paraphrasing the lecture helps me recall information better than when I'm merely regurgitating the lecturer's words in my notes. xD
Personally I print off the lecture notes and annotate them. It means I'm not writing down the exact same things as I could just print off, and I can add to the page separately with my own personal ideas that help me understand it better. then they're all in the same place and I've not been frantically writing stuff down in lectures
Since im an illustrator, drawing little pictures helps me recall things. As long as it's the general idea it makes it easier to recall
you must have that speedy hand! i tried to do this and my paper looks like an eldritch scroll lol

this is a common tactic! while you don't get the recall, it definitely can aid understanding
Thenkyu!!!
youre welcome!!!
