Opening packs is fun. It brings back memories that I can experience with my kids. I've been buying boxes with the goal of completing a couple sets. Rip the meat and potatoes, then snipe singles to close. I'm a believer that people should spend their "disposable" income on what beings a smile. One thing though.... bring back the gum!
I should put my third guess for the 2k draw as no third vid dropped (just to be safe)... 339 I'm also keeping my guess of 78a for the re-write of the 56a draw lol. Good luck all.
My time machine put me in front of my 286 computer, with 2MB of memory, playing this new game called Doom. Awesome game! I could get a box of cards at Sams or Costco for $15. Bad investment then. A time traveler whispered to me that in the future, cards of new prospects would be $1,000s of dollars. Hell, I could buy a car (in 1993) for that. And fill it up with gas for $1.11/gallon. He sounded crazy. I am investing in Manny Ramirez, Chipper Jones and Jim Edmunds. Hope it pays for my first house.....
It is so much cheaper to just buy the singles you want instead of breaking. I do get in group breaks but usually only pick your player. I collect Alex Rodriguez so most are less then $10. Someone on here does a break down of the cost of a box and what you need to hit to make your money back. 2023 Topps Sterling for example, you have to hit auto patches of Ohtani and Trout in the same box. I have 4 of the Alex Rodriguez Letter Patches 1/1 from that set, and all 4 together cost less then 1 box. 32a for the rack pack. 1196 for the 2000 user contest.
Was at the grocery store today and they had a monster box of 24 Chrome for $65. Almost bought it, but it seems like most people get boxes with all 10 xfractors being vets, which basically makes it a $65 box that contains $15 worth of cards. No thanks. Instead I just placed a comc order for 35 cards of players I collect for $40. Battling FOMO can be hard when it comes to ripping packs, but I'm not giving in to temptation until Fanatics starts pricing their products more realistically.
i know, every time i go, i pick up two or three and take them back by the time im done shopping..... sucks its so expensive. im like you, buy what i want instead for less!!
I have to teach all day so I better submit my 3rd guess (since we are allowed 3 guesses) forhte 2000 subscribers . . 3rd and final guess is 540. thanks Paul. Jay
Cards are worth what someone is willing to pay for, I can buy a box if I want but knowing my luck I won’t pull anything. The odds are not always positive as most who always pull big time cards on camera for obvious reasons that they get from card companies.
Lol dude. VW, Great full dead... the time machine sound fx explains all. Ha! Good stuff. 1991 be my pick for the second vid. Could it be that obvious? Probably not, but the dart is thrown. Keep it real 👍😄
Damn....I love the time machine episodes! Yeah....you would have done better putting your money into an S&P500 iNDEX fund....Folks, look at a market chart to see how much the market gained from 1993 and has RETAINED. Oh sure, there was a dip in 2008....but it recovered and the folks that kept investing DURING the way down (buying shares cheap) and slowly on the way back up (still buying shares cheap).........are STILL laughing, especially today. I know I am. Hell, it's how I put my son through college and paid cash for his education. I didn't need no time machine to tell me the college wouldn't accept baseball cards...but ONLY cold, f--king CASH.
Great Haring shirt!
First time I've seen the time machine. Love it. My number for today is 1938.
People don't realize that ripping boxes is a guaranteed loss. Grab a raw card, grade it, then flip it.
Everybody realises it and if not they do after 1 box , people love to degen gamble
Can't get singles if people don't buy boxes

Many sports cards are overrated but it’s what people are willing to pay. That drives the market.
