I didn't see you set the gap on those plugs. Do they come pre-set to the correct gap?
Yep. Thank you so much for watching!
# 8, I have a half sized extension 1 1/2 to 2" long which worked pretty well seen some guy's puttying a socket on the end of their spark plug socket which worked good for some people! just don't over tighten I never did really find what the torque setting should actually be but my engine is aluminum so snugged up with real short rachet!
Disconnect battery first! Jolts from starting system will fry your nerves, mess you up for life. They can even kill you. ALWAYS disconnect battery when working on starting system. (Starters, solenoid, alternators, coils, spark plugs, plug wires) I know a mechanic who didnt...he cant even hold his coffee with one hand now, fried him good, he can no longer work.
Thanks , I didn't know that !
Thanks for sharing , I have a 2008 GMC seirra, how do you replace the 8th spark plug for space it is very tight. Also what is the spark plug torque. Thanks.
+1
Take off the wheel and it will give you enough space to be able to do it.
Regarding spark plug torque my father always said 1) Don't break it and 2) "Just not dog shit tight" - Now to be fair the scale of "tight" to "dog shit tight" can surely move and vary depending on the application but when it comes to spark plugs, my advice will be..."tight enough"
I used a 2 inch wobble extension and got it from under the hood no problem its tight back there but that worked great as far as torque snug is all you want to do 😎🇺🇸
Short , and to the point, thanks
"Just do this for all eight cylinders and the whole engine will be complete!"
*gets to cylinder #8*
FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU
Not too bad you just need some different extensions and maybe a swivel to help. Thanks for watching!
lmao
Yep let me see you do #8 see if you had better luck then I did
This is a damn fact 🤣🤣
@@2carpros I got the combo ratchet 2" extension plug socket put the socket on the plug first then your ratchet with extension loosen the plug take ratchet and 2" extension off grab the socket with your hand and take the plug out to put the new plug back in find a old plug boot put the new plug in it and start the new plug with the old boot works great plus you won't burn your hand
Just do your oil pressure sensor first and the passenger side will be a breeze compared to that..
You make it look easy, I have a SLT model and it has a lift kit installed, I need a step ladder, lol!
I have a ladder in my shop for that exact reason. Thanks for watching!
I feel like I’m in a spy movie with this music
Do I NEED to have the metal covers over the spark plug wires? And will the grease that you put in the plug wire help it from arking off? I have misfire #7 cyl changed plugs 2 days ago and still doing the same thing.
Yes you do, they prevent the boot from melting from the exhaust. It will help the connection not get broken. Thanks for watching! You might want to replace the ignition coil next and then the fuel injector.
Thanks for this video. I have a question and if you can answer I'll appreciate it in advance. I have a 13 Silverado 155 8 cylinders 5.3 it was giving me a code and was rough start on the morning the rest of the day was fine. The code mass air flow sensor. I couldn't find a acdelco so I installed a duralast but still rough start and the engine light is back. Thank you.
I have this exact issue, only difference is 4.7 v6 engine. Did you ever figure it out?
@@timrtzdid you even figure it out
What is that metal tube for? and how do you get a real bad stuck boot and metal sleeve out without ripping it out
So that is a heat shield so the exhaust doesn't melt the spark plug wires. I found that a long pair of needle nose pliers and wiggling it like heck works best for removal. Thanks for watching!
Ok I'm bout to replace just one spark plug thanks lmao
Man, you hit the nail right on the head. This video is stupidly deceiving as the #8 plug isn’t as simple (for the new DIY guy) as he’s making it out to be. It’s not difficult but it isn’t simply, ‘pop the cover off and replace the plug’.
Considering you should take the passenger side tire off to better access #8, you’d think he would have mentioned that.
The old ones don't look bad at all. They had at least another 20k left on them.
What’s the gap ?
Wires do have to match, not all universal? I chsnged out plugs n wires n now check engine light on, everything in snug
What size socket? For 5.3L V8 engine you didn’t specify what size socket that was.
That would be a 5/8 spark plug socket. Thanks for watching!
I kinda find it helpful to make sure you gap your plugs .40
If i dont have a spark plug socket what can i use
What kind of wires can I use? Do the ac Delco 9748UU fit my 2012 Denali?
Do the spark plugs wires go number
The wires aren't long enough to be plugged in wrong. They just all go down in straight and parallel lines. Thank you for watching!
what type of grease is using in the sparks?
Anti seize grease on the threads.
@@2carpros he meant the clear grease in the boot
Thanks!
So will new sparks plugs and wires will it start my truck up as a tune and something keeps draining the battery won’t stay charged or stay turned over
Sounds like you have a short somewhere or something like the glovebox light won't turn off. Thanks for watching!
2CarPros yeah idk why it just won’t start or stayed turned over but has been sitting a couple months not sure what that means but it’s a 1999 Chevy Silverado 1500 5.3L
That music tho!
O man are you still answering if so does order of the wireset matter I fergot to label them when I return for warranty purpose
As long as the correct coil pack is connected to the correct plug the wires don't matter. Thanks for watching!
You never gave the gap of the spark plugs
They come pre gapped to application. Thanks for watching!
itd be nice if you actually gave a list of sizes... duh
Can anyone tell me what site can I purchase spark plug wires and plugs for my 2004 GMC Sierra from please? It will be very helpful if can post the link.
Check out RockAuto.com
@@2carpros I order my spark plug wires from them 3 days ago. Thanks for responding tho.
Show cylinder 8 instead of the easiest plug in the world to change.
Then you would complain you couldn't see anything. The process is exactly the same. I can't get my hands and the camera back there. Thanks for watching!
@@2carpros The process is totally different. You have to use a 1/4 adapter connect to your 3/8 socket.
@@donttempt What? No you don't the sparkplug socket doesn't magically change from a 3/8 drive to a 1/4.
@@2carpros You can't use any extensions on the passenger side so you have to put a 3/8 to 1/4 adapter then add the 3/8 adapter to the end to make a tiny extension. This is on a 2009 Yukon Denali 3.5. same vortec motor, but the passenger side is congested. Just check for yourself if you can, so you can help others. Sorry if I'm getting on your nerves 😔😂😂
Spark plug gap?
V8 For A Heart should be .040
what grease is used on the plug boot (white) grease?
No it is dielectric grease, the Delco wires come with it already installed.
Sparks plugs go in order 2 car pros
Go in order? No you don't need to put them in the firing order sequence RUclips Commentor. Thanks for watching!
Can u pleas post all size of tools needed Socket wrench extension?
Most people use a 3/8 drive with an actual spark plug socket... I'm sure someone will correct me but I believe its 5/8.
Would be the same procedure on 2005 Silverado
Yep. Thanks for watching!
how easy you remove wire my wire get cut?
abooodxuae always pull them by the boot by wiggling and pulling slowly.
NEVER pull from the wire portion!
because i didnt put them on order
07 not 06
rt86000 yo. B n
The shop wanted to charge me 300 to charge my spark plugs.
Ouch! Well doing the work yourself is easy and a great way to save that 300. Thanks for watching!
2CarPros thanks for posting this video
That Music is horribly annoying
Wish pulling off the wire was that easy 😑 8/10 never comes off that easy
Like how you did the easiest one 😂
They are all exactly the same. If I showed you the back ones all you would see is elbows and darkness then you'd complain about that lol
There is no trick to it, they are the same.
Gotta gap those plugs,,,,,,😎
...ever worked on one of these before? I’m guessing not based on your comment. Those are the same part number, stock, AC Delco Iridium plugs. They come from the factory with the correct gap right out of the box.
Plugs could have been dropped, always check gap before install
U left out which cylinder # ur doing. Can u give specific details to what u r doing? Please? Honestly I'm not impressed by this short video. No like from me.
You have to do them all. The numbers don't matter so much. Thanks bud.
Lee bitah your a dick head . Sounds like you shouldn't be pop opening your engine hood in the first place
My thought's exactly
