Thank you EllaBelle18. I'm so tired of men looking for qualities like their mom that they fail to see anything else inside of me. I met a guy years ago that didn't even know my full name or anything about me, knew him for about 2 hours and he decided I was the one, meanwhile he was married and tried to hide it. He started talking about me being a step mother to his kids and I had no clue he had kids or other women with his kids. He felt by the 3 questions he asked me, through a text and 2 hours of hanging around me was enough for him to come to the conclusion of making me an option. He thought he knew me. I find that a lot of men are looking for "Mom material" not wife material. My ex thought I was his mother. He had no plans of marrying me or anything or providing. He was lazy AF after we lived together for a few months. Which snuck up on me. He wanted me to be the man in the relationship and be his mother and every other title. I got rid of his sorry ass, he wasn't like that at first but he waited until I did better in life financially and was a selfish opportunistic asshole.
"Wifey Material" is defined differently from man to man. Everyone is different and seeking different attributes in their potential life partner. Also, I will be calling my mother, "mommy" until the day I die😂🤣
I love Loni's sense of humour. I love Jeannie's impressions of her Mom. And I love Tamera and Adrienne, like damn wish I could have some friends like them.
My moms name is Kim... but me and her having a playful mother and son bond I gave her a nickname... I gave her the nickname Kimmy G ! So we compromise and I still call her mom I usually only call her Kimmy G whenever I'm just being dumb and goofy but i know my place.. she is the mother , I am the child and I remain respectful to her ! Every parent-child relationship is different !
My son and I are the same way. He's a very respectful teenager and he playfully calls me by my first name sometimes. I think it's funny. I don't make him say ma'am either. But anyone will tell you how respectful he is.
Same with me and my mother. I sometimes jokingly call her by her nickname “Rene,” but I still know my place. My boyfriend finds it so disrespectful that I call her that even if it’s just jokingly, but I guess that shows every family is different.
My moms my best friend so I call her ma. Mom. ,mommy . Or by her first or middle name , it’s not offensive at all and she knows I respect her . It’s crazy how people are raised differently

Yes!! Adrienne got it. A “wifey material” shoutout be someone that can cook, clean, take care of house duties. A “wifey material” it’s someone that is career focused, has future plans, is motivated, serves God, can lead others into being successful, and so on. Cleaning and cooking is something that can be taught. The rest, it’s something that has to already come with the person.
I am not married yet, but I think in a marriage both spouses need to contribute the equal amount of responsibilities, love, and effort in order to keep the marriage going strong for many years.
I think the issue is that sometimes the term "wife material" can be used to looked down on someone.. I have a lot of guy friends & some of them look at a girl for & see that she's sexy but can't cook..& other traits that the stereo typical wife material. & deem her as just for fun & sex, w/c is totally unfair. I think that instead of stop using it.. we jut redefine it a bit & spin it into more positive, like they say emphasize how it could be different w/ every peron. or emphasizes other good traits like being loving, loyal & such cause I think thats more important than cooking skills honestly.
T Y my friends being sexist.. they are not sexist or even a bad person in general, because if they were, i will not be friends w/them.. they are just not that woke, or they are conditioned to think that way(because we live in a more conservative country), or even simple ignorance.. i am not excusing their behavior, in fact as their friend i take it as my job to help correct their behavior by educating them on this. the world is not black & white, yes there are those that are very good & very bad but there are plenty of kinds of people in between & a lot f the are more on the good side, gou cant just dismiss those just because there not perfect. YOU yourself ARE Not perfect. does your flaws define you? because labels such as "being sexist" is not thing you just throw around on anyone. its such an condemning title reserved only for those who truly deserve it, cause if you start throwing it on anyone, it looses its true weight.
T Y & also women & men can be friends.. i'm not gonna explain further on that cause if you cant see that for yourself i doubt anyone can make you understand.
I mean isnt it ok for people to have standards? Whats the issue? Some women have standards that some men thing are rediculous but, doesnt mean those women shouldnt have em. Whats the issue here?
If I were a man I would def want a woman who can cook. Food is tradition and a gift. Why are we surprised most guys would want this in a longterm partner? Why would we be mad at it? If you dont cook then find a guy who doesn't care, and stop hating on the others for having a preference.
Here's the thing though, Tamera is RIGHT ! There's nothing wrong in BEING wifey material. I'm not saying everyone should be, especially if they don't want to be. Being 26, I've realized that I don't want to be GF material anymore...I want to be wifey material. You're not going to marry your gf, you're going to marry your POTENTIAL WIFE!
@@riverx6802 A lot of us are ethnic here lol Even people of color get more color when we go to the beach or get in the sun a little longer. Her skin was clearly sun kissed compared to some of the winter videos.

Wifey material is subjective to the person using the term. It is not bad if the person is using the term to describe a person they desire. It becomes bad when they use it in the sense of a social construct as if there is baseline version of wifey material. If I had a wife I would allow her to cook if she wants to cook but it’s not because of that skill that makes her any less “wife-able” than the next girl. For example talking to your friend about how wifey material is like having a conversion about how they are applicable to the status quo. I don’t think it had anything to do with sensitivity. It’s just acknowledgement.
I love how tamera really recognised and mentioned about how there are relationshios and you have to rember the status and respect them by that status... i love tamera soul.. whoever does not you aint HUMAN!!! LOVE U TAMERA.!!!
I think wifey material depends on who the person is. Your definition of wifey is your definition, it might be different from person to person. I agree with Tamera on her points. As for husband material I need you to love God because I do, definitely a family man, he has to be stable in what he wants to do in life (dude can’t be figuring it out... he has to have it figured out). Now calling my Mama by her name Lawd have mercy, I would be dead lol. But I only do it when I’m playing around (but I say her whole name) or she’s just not getting it. Same my parent would not let us respond with “what”, “huh”, or “yeah”, they would literally restart their question or say “what was that”.

Grace S is you’ve never heard these phrases that’s fine but I hear them all the time. You mentioned preference earlier. That’s my point. If a man “prefers” a woman who can cook, clean and wants children why do so many women get offended and say that’s sexist? If he thinks all a woman is worth is cooking, cleaning and breeding then yes, thats wrong. But otherwise I don’t get the outrage?
SIERRA MCCHRISTIAN Nobody gets mad at men saying they want a woman that cooks and cleans. Women get mad at men who think it’s a woman’s “role” to cook and clean or like it’s something they have to do because they’re a woman that’s we get mad at.
“Francis”’ and that’s the last thing I remember. 😂😂😂
I remember when the girl chat segments always started with “I was reading an article on...”
Lol like no y’all weren’t! 😅
lol
I was just thinking the same thing!! 😂
They might read them. I once did a segment on local TV, and I had to research articles on hot topics at the time so I had something to talk about.
"In a recent article from madame noir" lol
Vicky lynn 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Tamera, yessss we could never say “what” or “huh” that was a big nono
Still can't and I'm 44
That’s interesting because I remember one time I said huh to an adult and she thought it was disrespectful. I went home and asked my mom was I wrong? She told me no, and as long as you don’t say what because that’s disrespectful. However, everyone household is different so what was wrong for her wasn’t wrong for my mom.
Kayla Rogan I’m not sure why huh is considered a disrespectful response, I think it’s an informal response compared to a formal response of excuse me, I didn’t understand. I don’t believe huhing is flat out disrespectful, maybe more so the way you say it lol
@@LordLex My father gets so mad when I say "What do you want?" I always call them mamma and babaa when talking to my mother or father out of respect to them but they don't care if I say their first name in private at home but not in public. Crazy middle eastern family.

Lmao, I died when Tamera said Aden called her Tamera 😂😩
Sometimes Adrienne speaks and i'm like "wow". I love that Israel looks at her like magic.
I've had guys call me that but it's not something I value or aspire to because to me it feels like playing into respectability politics. If you want to compliment me, then compliment me. Don't make me complicit in the marginalization of other women because they might not fit into what is a man's ideal for a wife. Also I have a lot of aspirations and qualities I want to be respected for before being a good wife.
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
smart sis
Thank you Ellabelle. This is exactly how I feel about this stupid wife material trope. It’s the same as the Queen / Good Woman nonsense. It’s all based on men’s expectations of women and it marginalizes women who won’t and don’t fit the stupid criteria
@@yourdwellingspace7407 wow. I'm sorry you had to go through that smh
Tamera is drop dead gorgeous and Adrienne's makeup is on fire!
Same, I call my mommy lystry boss or lish because her name's like lystra

Oh okay. Someone said Jamal
The intern Jamal is one of Loni's recurring jokes, I don't think there's actually an intern for The Real named Jamal lol

A wifey material doesn’t have to be career focused.

Ok
T Y That's ridiculous of course men and women can be friends.
You're not going to marry your gf, you're going to marry your POTENTIAL WIFE!
yes!! people who dont like that term are just sour grapes!
Thank you ! I totally agree.
I like your perspective! Worded extremely well. 💙
What the hell does this even mean???😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@diamond_p Thank you!! I really appreciate it ❤
Wow I love Adriennes skin 😍

That tan was looking good on her!! 🙄 I love a good tan lol ..an EVEN one though. 🙄
@@teap.9045 That's that gold blush/ highlighter.
Briana Molina that’s not a tan. She’s ethnic, so that’s her natural color.
@@riverx6802 A lot of us are ethnic here lol Even people of color get more color when we go to the beach or get in the sun a little longer. Her skin was clearly sun kissed compared to some of the winter videos.
Omg..... Tamera touched my spirit with that message 😂👏 "yeah" "huh" and "what" ... automatically getting checked. I don't even think I had the courage to ever speak to my parents that way to get checked to begin with. Even a "yes" was followed by "yes who?"... "yes, sir"
Awkward watching this at the end of 2019 and Jeannie is divorced and with jeezy lol 😅
“He’s such a GOod... guy...” ughhhgh y’all better leave her alone
Loni said "Black magic"...i'm dyyyyiiiiinnnggg!!

Ash Tree - it cannot prove that since Jeannie FILED FOR DIVORCE.
@@filmadcamp1512 jeannie filed so Freddie could have the family he wanted, meaning kids. She let him go so he could truly be happy.
