I once bought myself a small Bowie style knife (pretty sure it was a Buck) and my dear (now departed) soulmate joked to me that "That's NOT a Bowie knife. It's way too small!" Her Birthday wasn't too far away so I headed off to my favourite knife shop at the time and bought a Muela large Bowie knife. I think it was the Muela 18 but I remember it being much bigger than an 18. The blade was a full 12-inches long. I wrapped it up and gave it to her. She loved that thing. She'd wear it whenever we were out in the paddocks (we were leasing 1800 acres out of town). It also got used. We dressed roos and big goats and used the big Bowie a lot.

So I’m not 100 % but I do think the number represents in centimeters- blade edge only . I’d have to do more research. Regardless- I love your story . Nothing like a cool knife story I tell you . I have some knives that were once used in WW2 and boy if those knives could talk !!! Even my sentimental ones that were gifted to me . If I were to sell off my entire collection, and only keep the sentimental ones , I would still have a pretty huge collection haha 😂. My sentimental ones are like tattoos now : certain knives from certain people will remain with me forever . And one day be passed down to the kids ( hoping that is still a long way from now ) 🙏🙏🙏 The kids are older now . They really don’t care too much for my knife collection, but they are aware of the sentimental ones . I wish I still had my very first knife . It was either 1979 or 1980 . I bought a Buck 110 from the Army Navy store . I probably sold it . Or traded ?? Perhaps even lost or had confiscated haha 😂. ( there have been a lot of others that I had sold that I wish I didn’t …. It really does resemble the scout . I think the Scout has better steel and all but for $400 plus ??? I’ll stick with the Sarrio by Muela haha . That tree scene was priceless!! I thought he was just hiding up there and maybe the branch was going to break or something . I didn’t see that coming !!!! And neither did he !! Haha Ouch 🤕!!

Had it been in the $100 range ?? I might not have it . It would however be available later on eBay for triple the price ( one of biggest pet peeves ). Hate that !!
Yes one of my big life lessons. If you see something you like, buy it. If you wait it will either go way up in price or they’ll stop making it. This happens to me with everything, my favorite pants, underwear, fishing gear, etc. If you find something you like buy at least 3 of it. Because in 5 years they won’t make it anymore and you’re screwed. Ahh a problem with getting old I guess hahah.
Btw I’m watching “Balboa” tonight. Surprisingly I hadn’t seen it. Man it’s freaking phenomenal!!! Making me tear up like crazy. Stallone teaching us the real lessons of being a man. They don’t make em like that anymore…

Both Beautiful Choices ( especially the Mag 26 ). There are still a few out there I am still hoping to get added to the collection. These made in Spain knives are just so damn beautiful 🤩
Cudeman are awesome, but Muela ROOLS. I have all those blades. Recommend you Mirage 18 Muela - you will like it!👍 They are made from 1.4116 or 440c. One before a stag called "Muss" series. Recommend you Alcaraz and BOWIE 24S dagger!👍
Absolutely yes !! I’m not saying to pry open anything with it or anything but yes it is a very dependable blade if you needed . I don’t use mine . I’m a collector obviously so that one is for display / collecting purpose like a lot of the others are . It’s strong - solid - sharp . Everything you watched it do in the movie , it will do in real life . If I was out in the cold wooded snowy mountains, this would be my Go To weapon of choice .
I’m a Fool For Stag handled blades brother haha . Those made in Spain knives know where to find some high quality stag . Love to see the Stag Antler factory haha . Maybe I can order a dozen or so . As much as I love the magnum, currently considering either the joker bowie or the cudeman bowie. Do you have a preference? Is the cudeman worth the extra £40? This will be a second outdoors bush rafting knife to my more “carefree do anything” gerber. Want a more premium knife for cleaner tasks and to be cared for more.. Will be keeping my eye out for a brass muela at a later date!

I love them both !! I think they are even and should be the same selling price to be honest . Muela is basically the same but really overpriced . They are like the leaders of those Spanish made knives . They are definitely made using some high quality materials but Cudeman and Joker are not that far off . I do like Muela the most . And I don’t know why haha 😂 It’s like choosing Coke over a generic brand . Tastes the same but slight differences . Slight !! I’m also a sucker for stag handle scales /, crown stag . And Muela hands down offers the best . It’s the way they can grind and polish by hand that makes them desirable. But even Joker and Cudeman uses high quality stag . Bottom line - You can’t go wrong with either of them . I hope this helps . Keep in mind - I am a collector . I don’t use most of my knives . But watching and reading other reviews , I can tell that any of these will last you a lifetime . Treat knives like knives and they will be with you forever and a day . Most definitely!!!!! I watched that purely by accident. It was on many many years ago late /,early morning . I happened to wake up with the tv still on . The scene that was on was when Brosnan was performing first aid ⛑ on himself . I was like “ where is my remote ????!!!! I need to hit the record button “!!!! How comfortable is the stag handle. We'll left me ask you this how big I'd your hands. I wear med gloves. I got wide hands with short fingers. I have a few knives people love but they are like griping the top of a bat. I've always loved the staghandle bowie. Like the movie. Just wondering how tough they are I'm not a collector type. I have a few but all mine get really used until I find a better design. I'm really looking for a good chopper that I can do a few things with. What do you think is your toughest blade. Cudeman are awesome, but Muela ROOLS. I have all those blades. Recommend you Mirage 18 Muela - you will like it!👍 They are made from 1.4116 or 440c. One before a stag called "Muss" series. Recommend you Alcaraz and BOWIE 24S dagger!👍

How strong ist the Muela 26?
Can it take some heavy use?
Absolutely yes !!
I’m not saying to pry open anything with it or anything but yes it is a very dependable blade if you needed .
I don’t use mine .
I’m a collector obviously so that one is for display / collecting purpose like a lot of the others are .
It’s strong - solid - sharp .
Everything you watched it do in the movie , it will do in real life .
If I was out in the cold wooded snowy mountains, this would be my Go To weapon of choice .

As much as I love the magnum, currently considering either the joker bowie or the cudeman bowie. Do you have a preference? Is the cudeman worth the extra £40? This will be a second outdoors bush rafting knife to my more “carefree do anything” gerber. Want a more premium knife for cleaner tasks and to be cared for more.. Will be keeping my eye out for a brass muela at a later date!

I love them both !!
I think they are even and should be the same selling price to be honest .
Muela is basically the same but really overpriced .
They are like the leaders of those Spanish made knives .
They are definitely made using some high quality materials but Cudeman and Joker are not that far off .
I do like Muela the most .
And I don’t know why haha 😂
It’s like choosing Coke over a generic brand .
Tastes the same but slight differences .
Slight !!
I’m also a sucker for stag handle scales /, crown stag .
And Muela hands down offers the best .
It’s the way they can grind and polish by hand that makes them desirable.
But even Joker and Cudeman uses high quality stag .
Bottom line -
You can’t go wrong with either of them .

Keep in mind - I am a collector .
I don’t use most of my knives .
But watching and reading other reviews , I can tell that any of these will last you a lifetime .
Treat knives like knives and they will be with you forever and a day .

@@tubes5150 I'm going to restore. To nice to mess up. The price was awesome. The only ones I beat up are the MTech knives I have. The rest are projects to restore and upgrade.

I could not stand the coating on my Rat 7 so I removed .
I also died the scales instead of buying new ones .
First time doing that .
The blade looks 1000 times better now .

How comfortable is the stag handle. We'll left me ask you this how big I'd your hands. I wear med gloves. I got wide hands with short fingers.
