Kendall's line "I don't know what I would be for", is the most devastating line in the series.

The last scene is also almost like a cage that Logan put him in. Logan knows that Kendall is in a really bad place but he keeps him around anyway. He pulled him out of rehab and while I think we can assume Logan is from a time where people don't really understand mental illnesses, he is also just being cruel.

This is absolutely one of my favourite episodes of the whole series. Perfect humour and farce, balanced with deep emotional moments via kendall. The way the camera moves on to him when Gerri says someone killed themselves is so striking and clearly his dad has been keeping an eye on his visits to the roof, for the perspex to go up. I do wonder if part of Logan wondered if it was Kendall with the gun.

  • @Personalmeaccount

This episode tells us about greg's character. The entire episode Greg's talking about how he doesn't like the culture at ATN, culminating at the "safe room" when he mentions all the problems that makes him want to leave such as human furnitures, nazis, the abusive culture of ATN and shooters. However, the second Tom offers a promotion, pay rise and a new office, he doesn't even pretend to be conflicted, he immediately accepts what benefits him, showing that whatever morals he claims to have or we've been told he has by him isn't really there, kind of similar with Shiv. They claim to be different and more progressive from their family, but when it comes to it, now and in the future, they always pick what benefits them even when it directly goes against everything they claim to stand for.

    • @Personalmeaccount
      @Personalmeaccount Год назад +6

@@soniaiboyako4023 I think Greg’s always been like that since S1. You can see from the very first episode how desperate he is to get in with the Roys, similarly to Tom but at least with Tom we’re told and shown he’s educated and experienced but Greg literally went from working as a mascot at the theme park to executive business. Even him lying to his mum in episode 1 about smoking weed in his car and in episode 2 where he’s scheming with his mum about listening to Roman or Shiv and lying on an unconscious Logan that he offered him a job. It’s so obvious that everyone, even Marcia can see that Greg is slimy and machiavellian. I think as the stakes get higher for him, he only gets worse.

eh, the human furniture scene, where Tom lost a lot in eyes of many (but still is the least evil from the main cast), even though that was a "lost bet"
For me the saddest scene is with Kendall on the roof, when the glass panels are added. Yet again he is being controlled (probably for his own good), just like with the motorcyle when he wasn't allowed to be a driver. It is also important to notice first reaction of Logan in the safe room, "is Kendall safe", he was genuie worried, that Kendall went for it.
    Best quote:
A small person could fit through there, right? Like, an attack child!

    • @kvm6

Of course Logan wants Ken safe, he'll lose his number one fan otherwise.
Also the person that was a footstool was the one that committed suicide, right?
Otherwise it was Tom's decision to fire most people that made someone do it.

    • @johnjungkook2721

Don't speak for "the eyes of many" you're not the guardian angel of the entire fandom so please spare us.
And Logan has always been scared of Kendall committing suicide, because Logan knows he emotionally abuses Ken.

@@johnjungkook2721 Oh dear, someone is touchy xD. That was the feeling on the Reddit sub when the episode aired darling.
It was also always bought up when someone was writing something positive about Tom, the "remember human furniture" entry was alwasy there.
For me, he was just drunk with power, especially as he was over, and over dimnished in the marriage. Not that thish explains threating other human being as an object. He just "needed" to be the big boi for once.

@@kvm6 That was never made clear. Personally I do not think so. What was highlighte in few episodes was the fact, that ATN is a toxic workplace (which coresponds with their hate speech filled narrative), so literally anyone could off themselves due to pressure, and the footstool guy there while humiliated did not look as he would do that.

A sad, but historically acurate fact - Hitler was so paranoid near the end, that he did not belive his doctors gave him real cyanide capsules, so he ordered to test them on his dog - Blondi (that's the OG spelling). Even though (as hard as it is to believe) he was a well known animal lover. Crazy stuff.
I forgot about the scene between Kendall and Shiv, that it was in this episode. Truly moving, and shows in a how fragile state he is now.
As for wheter PGM could trust Logan... I think that mostly yes. He does not need another ATN, he needs a respected, lefty, woke leaning media brand. A trusted household name. That's how he could play both sides of the political discourse. Surely, on some matters, he would push, but in general there is no business sense in having ATN bis, fighting for the same demographics. To do "all the news" you have to carter for a broad demographics, and have specialized brands.
