  • This Behaviour is just unbelievable. The real estate scene in Ghana is truly an art more than it is science.

Not just Ghana, everywhere in West Africa. Every one with the money thinks they can do these things.

Same thing almost happened to me when I bought a land. Though it was a genuine deal, the seller told me I could build in a place that was suppose to be a road. We were happy because we thought we had extra space, but when I studied the area, I realised all my neighbours walls ended at certain demarcation. Though it was clearly stated on my plan that it was a road, the seller said we could build there because there was no plot after our land. He said once we build there they will all start using the other road, which was suppose to be the ''main road''. Well, I didn't listen to him. I told the seller He wanted trouble for us so we were going to follow what is on the land plan and build according to the size we bought. We eventually realised that the land the seller was asking us to use as our bonus plot, was actually the main road. If you are a selfish person, you will fall prey to these stuff.

I can send you to one of my lots at dowhenya where the land owner has sold the road and asking me to cut 30 feet of my registered land for a road. The prampram district assembly sent someone over and suggested I ho along with it because my 1.2 acres is big enough to accommodate a road.
    WE ARE STUPID. Very

I was amazed that this person did that to his neighbors! Everyone has to use the road....this is not a toll road whereby people need to pay to gain enterence! We are from the US and will be visiting Ghana to buy land to build our home. We sincerely hope we will not run into this problem. On another note, how can I have a conversation with you regarding buying land?

This types of things happen if the community at large is in support and it'll be the gate to the estate/community. Especially if it's an area prone to thieves operating. I'm not saying that's what happened in this particular case.

Actually, the fact that some insane and unreasonable individual is building without heeding town planning doesn’t mean it’s a practice allowed in Ghana. Even in western countries where the laws of any jurisprudence are enforced, people still do crazy stuff. Let’s not portray our motherland in such a negative manner, especially with your statement, “This is Ghana for you.” These crazy things happen in other countries as well.

It must be a Trump wall and Mexico will pay for it! 😂😂😂😂 on a serious note town planners need to enforce rules and grant permits before erecting structures like that for record and building codes enforcement. No wonder the white South African man disparaging black south Africans not to come to Orania.

@@mosestekper7659 I see, but it can be done or not. Sometimes what's on paper doesn't reflect what's on the ground. I have a land in Kumasi where someone cut through as an access road to his house. I blocked it, he knew that wasn't a road but he needed a short cut to his house.
