Excellent summary of your walk. Good tip about Decathlon. Just looked and found that there is one in our next destination (Split). Safe travels. Always look forward to your Sunday videos.

Awesome video. Reminds me a lot of the Inca Trail. Hope you get to do that one

I actually bypassed that one for other better hikes in the area.

So cool! 2 days seems very fast. I've heard it was a 5 day hike.

We definitely want to do this hike and the Camino. Do you think hiking boots are necessary or could trail runners suffice? Thanks for posting these videos and sharing your experiences.

Boots are definitely necessary, especially if it rains. I would not do the KK in trail runners, but I would do the Portuguese Coastal Camino in trail runners (altho I did have boots then too.)

Thank you for sharing. Do you think Takijiri to Chikatsuyu is doable in one day? Would you have done it? I am trying to see where I could shave of some days, and where I can't.

Yes. We did that the first day. It's not an easy hike, but we had rain all day making the trail slippery and just miserable to hike in. From Chikatsuyu to Hongu Taisha would be a difficult 2nd day, that's where you might have a bigger challenge. Make it yours - you'll love it!

Thank you for your input. I thought you stayed overnight in Takahara before continuing to Chikatsuyu. ♥️
