    Awesome, very informative. Great job guys!
    We will be going to Japan in March-April 2024.
    We plan to only pack 2 backpacks for 4 people. My husband and I will carry the backpacks because my kids are too small to carry their own backpack.
    We plan to do laundry half way on our 11 day trip. We also bought a foldable backpack for day trips.
    Loved the video.❤

      Thank you so much for the kind words, we are so happy you liked the video and found it useful! Back packing is definitely the way to go, also if your hotel /airbnb doesn't have a washing machine we saw laundromats everywhere ( at least in Tokyo and Kyoto) just don't forget to buy detergent at a grocery store first like we did😂 You guys are going to love Japan, people were super nice and kind, we loved it over there. We have like 9 more videos about Japan coming so hopefully you find those useful as well before your trip!

      @@katandantonio we are planning to bring detergent sheets. But we called our hotel in Hakone and Kyoto to make sure they have laundry machines available for guest to use.

      How's was it to travel every few days?
      We are planning to travel with our young kids and just 2 backpacks.
      We're you two tired after traveling on the trains?
      Just wanted to get some insight to see if I'm asking too much of my family to travel every 2 days from Tokyo to Hakone to Kyoto to Osaka and back to Tokyo.

      You do walk quite a lot in Tokyo and other cities, so the actual train traveling time was perfect for resting. All trains were very comfortable, so no problems there.

    I love Japan! So fun. The streets and sidewalks are so nice I’d recommend a rolling suitcase. Plus lugging a backpack in the heat means sweaty gross me. I travel with a mini hardshell spinner and a personal bag. I’ll be back in Japan in May and can’t wait❤️

    Stumbled upon your video and it's good to get insight from people about the humidity in Japan during summer. Will be visiting Japan this summer and I live in BC Canada which is tad cooler than Arizona but does get pretty hot during the summer but probably not as humid as Japan. Will also be one bagging it as I already experience the hassle of dragging a luggage on our first visit many moons ago.

      That might be challenging with costumes and dancing shoes! But Germany has great weather at the end of summer! Let us know how it went!

    It's hot! And humid! That was fun to watch. We pack fewer shirts, but stay in Airbnbs with washing machines most the time. It is harder when moving quickly from place to place. Did you buy Shinkansen tickets separately? ✈🌺Heidi

      Hi Heidi, we are glad you liked the video! We actually watched you guys' video on portable WIFIs in Japan before going, it was very informative! Yes, we did buy the Shinkansen tickets separately, since it didn't make too much sense for us to get the 2 week pass. Thank you for taking the time to comment!

    I hope you had fun on your trip to Japan.
    Minimalism is very much a subjective term as it means different things to different people.
    On my first Asia trip (30 days) I didn't know what I was doing so I ended up brining a 40L backpack with almost 12KG of gear.
    My next trip (20 days) I was able to shrink both my pack down to about 25L and reduce my total carry weight to 7KG.
    If I wasn't working and shooting video then I would have been able to shave off almost half the weight I am carrying!

    Don’t the business hotels include washing facilities for clothing? I never use more than a carryon 🤷‍♂️ which includes laptop, trousers 1extra, shorts, 4undies, disposable socks, 3 T-shirts, wind rain jacket. On body long trousers, T-shirt, hoodie, jacket if winter, 1 toothpaste + brush.

    • @katandantonio
      @katandantonio  6 месяцев назад

      None of the hotels we stayed at had laundry facilities. But if a hotel offered those services, it would be definitely helpful. Thank you for watching !

      @@katandantonio There are also coin operated laundries in some areas so that is another option. With Google Translate in camera mode you should be able to figure out the machine.

    You didn’t tell us what was the ONE mistake to AVOID

    • @katandantonio
      @katandantonio  5 месяцев назад

      The one mistake was to underestimate Japan's humidity. Because you go from wearing one T shirt per day to wearing 2 or even 3.

    This is not helpful for people that don’t have tons of camera equipment.

    • @katandantonio
      @katandantonio  8 месяцев назад +3

      Well, if you don't have to pack camera equipment, you could use that extra space for some extra pair of pants, shirts or a book.
