- The original Mr Blobby music video from 1993.
This footage was recovered from an old VHS tape (look it up kids), the audio was so poor that it was dubbed over with the audio track (don't worry, the only thing your missing out on is the audience laughter)
This video was created by Simon Brown (Queeg).
Our best weapon in psychological warfare against ISIS
If you played this at Guantanamo, you'd be done for crimes against humanity.
Just give him a gun
@@anonUK The British SAS ought to use this as a torture weapon, rather than white noise.
Play it on a 10 hour loop through headphones at full volume, this will break down even the strongest person.
@@Andi090386 I think I would quite enjoy that
Or against the UK and US?
American wandering in. And now slowly backing away in sheer terror.
jlucydaisuke you aren't missing anything. 80% of the comment section is terrified of blobby as well.
roflmaoooo!!! ^_^_^
Im British but . Yeah
I'm American and I feel like I have been missing out
Me but Australian
Wait, hold the fuck up, THAT'S JEREMY CLARKSON?!
WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK
I noticed that too
Looks like him
pandaz it is him, Noel Edmonds is a huge car nut, he's got things like the le mans gt 40 and other very rare cars. Clarkson also likes cars, they're both on the box, you can guess the rest.
what even i didnt know that
I thought that aswell
“He’s got a car” is the last thing you want to hear about Mr Blobby
Some of these lyrics sound vaguely threatening
YOUR INFLUENCE WILL SPREAD THROUGHOUT THE LAND
I thought they were saying his infants would spread throughout the land.
:/
"No waist too low / He'll give it a blow"
I thought they were saying "Your ignorance will spread throughout the land."
He puts the do in do or die
The line that killed it for me is "His philosophy of life will steer him through"
What sodding philosophy!!?? He just keeps saying Blobby Blob!?
I remember crying my eyes out on my 4th birthday, because I wanted this song playing EVERY SECOND OF THE DAY.
Oh the early 90's
Clarkson was Blooby's driver? It all makes sense now.
who da fuck is blooby?
Good thing it wasn't Richard Hammond...
Mr Blobby, Clarkson or both?
Sweeeeeeeeettttttttt
Diplamatik Juan or James May
this song is what destroyed the british empire.
DarkCloud9 proberly 😂
To be honest I think this is what made us this is why we are so fucked up in the modern day
Nah Let it go did
I would much rather hear this constantly than Baby Shark
@@Dim4323 the British empire was ruined long before Let it Go mate.
My mum worked on this song, She said it was torture
I can relate to that.
What part did your mum have on this song?
Not sure, i'll ask her later for you :) i know the song producers were TotalRecords,
I loved the song even if your mum found it torture to work on!
She's not Carol Vorderman?
anonUK No.
If Hell exists, this creature is sure to greet you at the gates
AGEED! This demon spawn was the source of all my nightmares as a child.
+JonnyInfinite yes he is fucking weird
+PinkPancakes199 me too
This song sounds like it was made for Satanic rituals.
+mrnaughtycat Roger Moore?
Blobby appears to be some sort of malevolent spirit who destroys everything he touches
This is a prime example of how many people on telly when I was a child were on drugs.
+Misty O Saw MR Blobby when I was like 10, Never taken drugs and never gonna, he is jus funny!!!!! and still is x
+Jayden Styles I don't think you understood what he said
only in Britain that a song like this can become a christmas number 1 and then 7 years later bob the builder became christmas number 1
It proves that the politically correct and money obsessed of today have no sense of humour. All the humour you get now is blue which doesn't need imagination. It was funny because it took situations to extremes and put a character in place who wasn't afraid to do anything. It was alot cleverer that usa slapstick which is why they didn't get it-everyones too stuck up now and afraid to challenge any norm.
it really isnt. its bland, cold, calculated trash designed to make as much as money as possible for as little effort as possible.
People keep focusing on how terrifying he is they overlook the genius behind Mr Bobby as a hilarious work of parody.
I have to agree people think he looks terrifying but he's actually a comedy legend
i have an A level exam thatll decide my future in about 20hours...
(Edit 3 years later)
It's 2020, I'm now going to be graduating online because of Covid, I blame Mr. Blobby.
How did it turn out?
WALZ97 how's it going now?
lowan 997k Tip top, doing engineering at uni rn, Just gliding through it. How bout you?
that's a relief. Im glad :) ... otherwise Mr. Blobby will come and get u :D
Good luck from the future
MR BLOBBY is a chaos god borne out of our worst nightmares. If we're lucky he will be lost to the mists of time.
Blobby is love, blobby is life.
fuck no
agreed
Mr blobby is the guy who puts the do in do or die
Not to be rude and sorry for saying this but...
Blobby was an ill-born and ill-mannered, he made jokes very out of wave, even made a child cry in the being and the producers took it as something funny,
In theory they are wrong of the head...
@@cr_xlla Yee, hence why it’s funny.
watch on 0.5 speed for nightmare fuel
+DeafgiftROBLOX Take shrooms and listen to it at that speed. Holy shit bahahahahaha!!!
+DeafgiftROBLOX You forgot to include 'cringing' before 'nightmare fuel'.
Umm, you don't need to change the speed, it is fucking terrifying.
start at 2:25 ... you will never sleep again!
Watch it at 1 speed for nightmare fuel.
Huh, never thought I'd see something that out does that damn purple dinosaur Barney.
Nothing in the world he can't do? How about talking?
GrimmNemesis In a way he does talk, but experts have yet to decipher his "language" to this day.
fine then, can he English?? XD
@@luciidusal yeah he can say blobby
He can talk just fine. He's just content with saying BLOBBYBLOBBYBLOBBY
lol ^_^
The 90s were a strange time...
i think this came from the bob the bulider and thomas eras?
A fun time. Its all darkness and sex nowadays. I miss the days when a pink blob man could make number 1 in the charts.
Strange and beautiful strange and beautiful
It was the best I miss the 90s😭😭
seriously lol!!
This really should have been a Eurovision entrant!
Only in the 90s would something like this become popular.
Mr Blobby used to give me nightmares. When you think about the fact that we British kids had this, Teletubbies and the Chuckle Brothers, British kids tele was weird.
yeah but chuckle brothers has lasted over 20 years. blobby was a fail ... at the less said about the teletubbies the better
Shock Teletubbies made a reboot but for how long? and Mr Blobby appears every so often when Gary Barlow had a fight with him in 2016 Christmas. Every so often he is just knocked out.
0:28 Jeremy Clarkson. I think this is why he's acted out so much over the past 20 years.
I agree with Jack Whitehall this thing is creepy as hell.
Mr blobby is a national treasure
thisguyducky yes you’re right
Am I the only one here who can still hear Phill Jupitus screaming "TURN IT OFF!" while John Barrowman dances as the song plays?
It's the reason I am watching this video, lol. Barrowman's dancing was hilarious!
Exactly why I am watching a creepy, yellow spotted, pink blob dancing whose only words are blobby. John Barrowman's dancing!!! lol
And I'm pretty sure I'm scarred for life because of Mr.Blobb
Stent the Bunny when?
Let's see how many different nationalities think this is disturbing.
I'm from South Korea.
U.S.A and I think it's disturbing as well.
spain and is amazing
UK it is
Argentina
Tiny Greenness ENGLAND!
I'm an American that loves British humor... This scares me.
Koedix I'm a Briton who loves British humour, this has always scared me.
I’m British and as a kid when this came out I would always buss up laughing my ducking head off! This was so funny as a kid! But yeah I see your point asa grown up lol 😂 😂
I'm American that loves British stuff but this thing
This thing scares me
He scares us too
loove british humor so dry
Still the best Christmas No.1. We all know people who say otherwise are just lying to themselves ;)
the SCPs from Series 4 are looking really good.
memetic hazard
Keter
if you push him in the stairs and turn away
He will be standing
He will be waiting
Guys - This isnt cool. This is not okay. We need to investigate the 90s, what the fuck were they putting in the water back then >.
this is one of those novelty records most of us love! unlike many other novelty records, this one is still loved and not that annoying really, when i was at school everyone loved it!
i need what you are on (crack)
I was 10 when this come out. Now I look back...Mr Blobby was insane! 🤣🤣😍😍
I still can't work out just what blobby was all about?
Definitely up there with the teletubbies for weirdness.
It's almost like the rave and drug culture really psyched up a lot of TV and music vids back then haha.
It was originally a fake cartoon character ,for a broadcast where they told celebrities that it was the most famous British cartoon character and let him do shit all around.
And stayed around cuz kids thought he was funny even tho he was made to be terrifying and ugly
Just think a little over 30 years this graced the top of the UK Billboard Chart...lost it today...but regained it back a week later...
I think in 1993 when I look back as a kid we only had 4 tv channels then no sky that's was best entertainment on a Saturday Noah Edmunds house party, great entertainment
Clan BoA yeah
Sky had been around 4 years before then
if you could compress all of the 90's into one video, it would be this...
Still better than most pop songs nowadays.
Sadly agree, but also whatever ends c(r)apitalsm?
Who knows.
fuck me if that's not Jeremy Clarkson
This was such an odd time for British popular culture. If I was a tourist in Britain during the 90s when Mr Blobby was huge and I saw Mr Blobby I'd just be thinking "what the hell is this and what fuck is wrong with the British?"
+Szaam Ironically we could say the same about Japanese TV :D
:) English >sense of humor< has many, many admirers in Poland.
The English can do stupid things, but their execution is very clever and funny. :)
mr blobby song is my favourite song of all time
the highlight of jeremy clarkson's otherwise dismal life and career is appearing in this song's video
He's rich and famous as fuck. Someone make my life as dismal as his please.
I would love to see Mr Blobby do a special of the Uk Show Deal or No Deal With Noel Edmonds
I'm dancing to this song omg
Okay, can someone explain to me who this music video was made for?
Because first, it seems like it's mad for kids. It starts with children singing but then we have this somewhat sensual scene with him and a woman.
Who directed this!?
That is the only answer
Well, Mr. Blobby was a running joke on a UK variety show. People would be invited on, told they were filming an episode for a new childrens' TV show, and the star character (Mr. Blobby) would generally be a klutz, knock the guy over, break the set apart, etc. and they'd try to get the guest as frustrated as possible. The show, "Noel's House Party," was a huge hit, so he - and his trademark voice and clumsiness - had a fanbase, with both kids and adults. So much so that there were THREE attempts at a tiny Blobbyland theme park.
I think this was aimed at kids AND adults, and was just more of the cheeky-humor-with-double-entendres that British TV is known for. Stuff the kids won't fully understand, but adults will. For example, "Noel's House Party" happened in the fictional town of Crinkley Bottom.
The scene at 1:05 is a spoof of the video for Stay by Shakespeare's Sister.
Billy: I'm scared, Poncho.
Poncho: Bullshit! You ain't afraid of no man!
Billy: There's something out there waiting for us, and it ain't no man.
Best song ever! This will be stuck in my head forever.
I tried to watch an episode. I have no idea why I found him so hilarious. But I was 3 when this came out
Who never loved this song when it first came out and was all over the radio back in the 90s Still listen to it now
And also loved watching noels house party blaming low ratings to take it off tv
is that jeremy clarkson from top gear ?
Thanks 4 the good memories i was 8 when this come out n use to make me smile all the time n did again thanks again
Why do people say he is disturbing? Me and my 4 year old sister love him!
"Your influence will spread throughout the land"
"His philosophy of life will steer him through"
"If humanity's a question of degree, Blobby, Mr. Blobby, stay loyal to your Blobby pedigree."
Why do they have to word it like he's some form of cult leader?
The cult of Mr Blobby... I kinda want to see that as a comedy/ horror movie. People paint themselves pink with yellow polka dots and attack non-believers whilst screaming in blobbish.
2:26 - 2:29 an insight to hell
A character designed to be an annoying and terrifying parody of kids characters turned into an actual popular kids character.
That's 90s Britain for you.
I admit I bought the single back in the day to stop take that being no 1.
🕺💃🎀 ✨ I can imagine Mr Blobby and Hello Kitty and her Friends together!!!😊
Better then Bieber
You are so right
Watched Big Fat Quiz Of The Year And Had Too Come And Listen To This Again.... I Love Mr Blobby
Eurovision 2018. 25 years since Christmas number one. This has to happen.
I'm 14. But i read the description. IN 2003 I REMEMBER HAVING A VHS PLAYER. damn the nostalgia
Is that Jeremy Clarkson driving the car at the start? xD
I believe so!
this s the perfect advert for why people should *not* do drugs.
Thank you The Magnus Protocol for making this thing even worse.
It is what it is. A comedy dance track. Nothing too great about it, but nothing bad either. Checklist:
- Chords = Nothing wrong with them, same as used in a lot of more cool and successful tracks.
- Female vocals = Quite good actually, talented vocalist. Lyrics are comical though.
- Synths/bass/etc = Kind of pet shop boys electronic. Matches the chords, silly sounds to replicate the blobby character.
For what it is, it's well produced, has the desired comedic effect and is in no way a bad song. A silly song made for a twat in a costume.... top stuff.
Mr. Blobby is a G
So many cameos in this :) This was the first song i brought when i was young lol!
I'm going to tell my kids this is is John Lennon
I absolutely loved Mr blobby this song was my first tape too haha brings back so great childhood memories for me.
Mr blooby was gangster
My autistic girlfriend used to sing this song when she was 12 and when she was in a good state of happiness.
Hi Blobby fans! I have my own RUclips channel now! How do I get friends? Blobby Blob Blob!!! Hahahaha
NO
Why did the all-caps NO make me laugh so hard
Thank you so for uploading this this is the soundtrack to my life
OMG FINALLY!! I FOUND THIS VIDEO THAT BRINGS ME SO MANY FEELS!! LETS..! um...wait a minute...: "mr blobby, your infants will spread around the land"O.O WTF DID I JUST WATCH AND I LIKED THIS AS A KID!!! D:
Honestly i still love the song the song is awesome xDDD but everything else...i used to like some weird stuff when i was a kid...xD
+Holly Griffiths yess xDD im so proud of being born in the weird era hehe it explains so much O.O
+Angela nemec garcia It's actually "Mr Blobby, Your influence will spread around the land"
Oh O.O still sounds scary thought...
This character brings back memories from when I was a child
I'm from 1992, and one of my earliest memories is of a hideous, inflatable version of this thing. I don't know why my parents bought it, but it scared the f*cking daylights out of me. Brrrr.
I can't believe this ended up as Christmas Number One in 1993!
This fucking hit No1, da fuck was up with kids in 1993? Too much crack as usual?
HE was so ahead of the Robert Palmer videos, and, he was - IS such a talent, compared to the dross of today. Mr. . Blobby; if you read this, wherever you are, please - we NEED you now, more than ever!
My mum hates this song, its actually legendary!
My 20 year old sister has been terrified of Mr Blobby ever since she was little. She's currently at a fundraiser and they just played this song. Apparently she completely freaked and she wrote to me on Facebook and I had to play this :D
it was human people made this number 1 - its not mr blobby's fault he didnt buy the records
...it's like you tried summoning a Teletubby with a satanic ritual.
blobby oh mr blobby if only you could make us understand
My first pet was a little Russian hamster named Mr Blobby, apparently i was obsessed.. looking back now I don't understand how my 3 year old self wasn't terrified 😂
This is what makes me glad, despite Nikki Minaj and One Direction, to grow up in this generation. It's better than this.
Maybe for you guys across the pond. We had Nickelodeon in the early 90s. For kids with conservative, middle-class parents, there was the Disney Channel.
Do one. Blobby was the best. This generation is full of shit no talent so called 'music' from things like Rihanna
wow... now I remember why I liked him so much when I was younger!!! :)
WHAT AN ABSOLUTE TUNE! BEST SONG OF THE 20TH CENTURY!!
The first Song I ever purchased on cassette tape, when I was 6. Memories flooding back
What in the bloody 90s eurodance hell is this song
We still love you Mr Blobby. Please come back.
What a great entry for eurovision this would be😂
I actually bought this or was bought this as a 7 year old on cassette #in 1993 and so helped make this number 1. #proudwhilstalsoembarrassed
How is it that when I was a kid, I found Mr. Blobby funny but now that I'm 16, I find him fucking scary!?
>when i was a kid
>now im sixteen
wow, your still a kid
Congratulations man. Want a medal?
I'M 18 NOW BITCH
Can remember buying this my son for Christmas! He's 25 now!
KILL IT BEFORE IT SPAWNS! 3:21 - oops, too late!
Well tomorrow I have school and I’m gonna be tired because of this.
CLARKSON!
I had to listen to this over and over as a child, and now 20 years later over and over as a parent. P.S check my kid's channel ;)
