GTR2 is still a fantastic Sim today and with tons of Mods for Cars of every era and tracks. I try every new Sims but I always comeback for GTR2! You want drive IMSA GTO/GTP 90´s? create a grid and drive GTR2, you want 70´s sportscars or Lemans from 60´s to 2018 drive GTR2! For GTR2 you get everything!
IMHO GTR2 way better than AC! We match a 2006 game vs a 2013-14 game! In assetto corsa you havent got steering lock option! In assetto corsa no weather change, no day-night change, no dinamic weather! In assetto corsa no dinamic tracks (when you do more laps, more tyre on the surface and more grip! This is a feature in GTR2) In GTR2 you have full MOTec support! Graphics is not a thing, not necessary for good racing! FFB good for both games, they have literrally the same canned effects and they have good tyre FFB effects (and FFB is a fals feature, no real car have this "forces". So many good player turn it off). You see the "twisting" of the chassis in GTR2? More realistic, than AC. If you see a real life FIA GT race, you will see this "waving" is real. AC tracks are more immersive than GTR2, just because the graphics. AI in GTR2 is very good, good for single player mode for 2-3-6 hours races! Both game moddable, but GTR2 is moddabble deeper, like AI behavior, etc... Overall GTR2 is a full package! You can do a 24 hrs race with mixed classed for 62 car with or without your friend - because you have the option to change seat to AI! You have the option to SAVE the race and continue! You have full control of the car setup, while assetto corsa is somehow limited. Assetto is a simcade if you try to match to GTR2. And no, Im not an AC hater, because I play both games, but If I see objective the two games, the overall features is better in GTR2 than AC. And No no BEST simulator game! Every game has a feature, wich is better, than other games! And every player have their own preferences. This games are not real experience of a feel of a real racing car. None of them! Not even close to real world racing. (I think if you good with a 500hps porsche in a game, you not be able to drive in real life on a real track with high speed) Only games, for fun! And your favourite will be that game, where you find fun! So no hating, I just write down my opinion.
@lol shit Thats a blanket statement bro. Nobody compares a base game from 2013 to today's games. Assetto still leads in most areas thanks to the community
Camera movement in GTR 2 is way better, in and outside of the vehicle, you feel like you are driving a car and I also prefer the sounds, the backfire, the rumble, the braking is there. That static camera you picked for AC was a wrong call because this supposed to be a comparison video, and that static camera cut that off making AC looks like an Arcade game, plus hiding the shakes, etc. Excessive use of the flames effect on AC, looks like NFS, and that changing gear animation looks way too simple and a bit annoying for some reason. Also, you seem to put more effort into driving on GTR2 (correcting lines, controling the exits, driving more carefully) while on AC everything seems to be on the line no worries. Thanks a lot for the video!
Thanks for your feedback. I agree that I should have activated the G forces in the settings of Assetto Corsa to make it more comparable. That was my fault. The car in GTR2 was a lot different to drive than in AC. It was a lot more „alive“ on the bumps or cerbs than in AC.
*laughs in 70 GB assetto Corsa with almost 50 mods Edit: it's almost 150gb now and it probably has like 80 mods but the ai is not good in ac that's why I play gtr 2 but I don't have enough guts to delete assetto corsa

That’s true. GTR2 was my first sim on the computer. Had lots of fun competing with other people in the multiplayer.

Wow that is what I call a statement.
Yes!
I guess you don't have the latest mods....All that and more is now done and more is coming. Not to mention the physics gap. Assetto wins hands down.

It was on purpose to compare the graphics but ok.
