The German Me-163 Komet was the worlds first and only rocket-powered fighter. Designed as a rapid response interceptor to combat the US daylight bombing raids, the Komet was years ahead of anything the allies possessed with speeds upwards of 600mph and an incredible rate of climb. The Komet's volatile rocket system accelerated the Me-163 to an altitude of 39,000ft in just minutes from which it then only had 3 minutes of fuel left to attack its targets with its deadly 30mm canons. Once out of fuel it became a glider and very vulnerable to fighter attack when returning to base for landing. Although it can be considered a failure in operational terms, the Me-163 has gone down in history as a truly legendary aircraft of WW2 thanks to its ground breaking design and blistering rocket performance.
The Durafly Me-163 is in itself a truly a ground breaking model. Not only does this Komet feature a fully working scale 'dolly' style undercarriage, blistering performance and a high-quality finish, but it is designed out of the box to accept a model rocket engine! In its Plug and Fly (PnF) form, Durafly's 950mm (37.5") span Me-163 comes with all electronics pre-installed and ready to hook up to your choice of 6ch receiver. A minimal part count allows assembly to be completed in just a few steps. The molded EPO has a highly detailed surface finish externally, carbon reinforcement internally and features a color matched hard plastic belly skid. It also has good access to all electronics via the battery/canopy hatch, excellent cooling through out and of course a very authentic looking scheme. Quality is definitely the name of the game.
Designed for pilots with some experience, Me-163 benefits from incredible flight performance and stability throughout the speed range. Full power climb outs, virtually unlimited vertical, huge loops, blistering rolls and very fast passes are easily had at full throttle. Slow the Me-163 down and she's just as stable and has no hint of a stall. Using the recommended 2200mAh 30-65C 3S lipo and supplied 6x4 prop, you can expect flight times well beyond 6 minutes and with excellent performance throughout. If you are looking for a lighter set-up, the Durafly Komet is equally happy on a 1300mah 3s, especially at lower speeds. But if you want a bit more punch then a 1300~2200mAh 4S 30C+ lipo can be used with the standard Komet setup.
For those of you looking for the ultimate scale experience, the optional rocket system is a simple drop-in affair (see manual for details), and will give you a thrill like no other. The working dolly-drop is activated at the flick of a switch on your transmitter, allowing for the most scale of take-offs.
Durafly have taken EPO scale models to the next-level with the Komet, and have put you firmly in the pilot seat with the new red Me-163.
    Features:
    • Fully functional dolly style undercarriage (now with a wider wheelbase)
    • Ready made for drop in optional rocket motor system
    • High level of pre-assembly and minimal part count
    • Tough EPO construction with extensive carbon reinforcement
    • Super smooth surface finish
    • Stable and high performing aerodynamic design
    • Large canopy/battery hatch for easy access to electronics
    • Authentic and re-applied decals and paint finish
    • Standard setup will run 3S and 4S lipo batteries
    Specs:
    Wingspan: 950mm (37.4")
    Length: 585mm (23')
    Flying Weight: 800-850g (28-30oz)
    ESC: Durafly 40A brushless ESC
    Motor: Durafly 2836 2200kv Outrunner
    Prop: 6x4 (2 included)
    Servos: 2 x metal geared 9g (aileron/elevator), 1 x 9g rudder
Controls: 6 ch 'Elevons' (aileron/elevator), throttle, rudder, gear (dolly), optional rocket switch.
    Requires:
    Your Own 5-6ch Tx/Rx with elevon/delta mixing
    1300-2200mAh 3S~4S (11.1~14.8V) lipo battery (30C min)

Pilot Robert,Doctor Robert and now we can call you Design Engineer Robert!! You pulled this one off very well Robert! I wasn't sure what to expect, but with the Perfect G-Spot the Twin ME/Petrencic 163 Komet performed very well!! A bit faster flying due to higher wing loading, but it flies like it's on rails! The best part of all of this is how happy it made you, that was awesome! Captain Blaz, you did another fine job in zooming the shit out of it!! Congrats on 8K,that is also awesome!! Cheers to you guys and to Capt.David!!

The Luft46 Me.163Z is an absolute knockout of a design,it looks good and flies good too,I am so happy for you that this project has been such a success, the model is quite uniqe and if some manufacturer does not take this design up then they will be loosing out badly on sales for something so different,I think this model is just asking to be flown at least once over your cherished quarry because with that dramatic background it will really come alive, the red and black scheme also looks really good on this subject, happy days brothers we are all brothers throughout the world in our wonderful hobby that brings us such joy in flying these miniature aircraft,I have a feeling that we are going to see other unique modified aeroplanes from your stable in the future and why not ?

OMG, you're such a character and quite entertaining! The two of you! Congrats on your maiden! A fantastic and successful mashup of the Sky Sword and Me-163 done properly! Looking forward to that ''other twin project'' you mentioned. And good job on the landing - you greased it in!! Cheers from Montreal

This reminds me of a toy clockwork tin plane! You wind the key and watch it go round in circles on the kitchen floor hahaha just perfect. Thank you.👍

Pilot Robert! Incredible! Your Twin Comet Creation flies superbly! They seriously should produce this model, name it after you and pay you for the design. Like your other subscribers have said, I just love your passion for this hobby...it's infectious...so nice to have found people like you to share this with. Ultimate salutes from Minnesota, USA! OH YEAH!

Thanks my friend. I really think that this idea is perfect and they would sell a few birds like this becouse it really flies much more easier then single Komet. I love it. Big salute to you in Minnesote from Slovenia. Oh yeah.

That was fantastic Robert. I have never seen you so excited, but I think this is your best plane and your best video yet! You are truly the monster plane G-spot Master and I could feel your excitement in flying that plane from half way around the world. I did see that it tried to roll to the left when you took off but you handled it perfectly. I still believe that if you will reverse the right side motor direction before you next flight that it will takeoff and fly even better. Wow, that was a great flying day in Slovenia yeah !! 🇸🇮

That is really impressive. Ball is in your court Durafly. It just looks right, and having the props close together is a good thing for a twin-engine aircraft. Which other RC channel gives you all this? None. Now I will cut this comment off quickly. *Salute from australian pilots, subscribers and viewers*
