    Whilst the host of this video gives a great trick for finding the square root of non-perfect squares, he should have mentioned two important things: a) the answers achieved will only be accurate to no more than 2 decimal places, and b) to get the most accurate answer you need to use the perfect square that is closest to the number to for which you are calculating the square root. For example, if you are looking for the square root of say 27 you will get a more accurate answer if you base it on 25 (5 squared) rather than 36 (6 squared).

      @@mindrelaxationmusic3267 I wasn't a math or physics major and I wasn't going to invest in an expensive handheld calculator back then since Calculus and Differentials were only my elective courses. I did develop an instantaneous squaring system for those numbers commonly squared. Example 12 squared is 144 while 13 squared is 144 + 12 + 13 = 169. 15 squared is 225 + 15 + 16 = 256. The same can be done for squaring lower numbers. Ex: 24 squared = 625 - 25 -24 = 576. The known squared number, plus its value, plus the next number higher. I hope I made sense.

    This method is derived from calculus. Although it's a very good method to find the approximate value of square root of a non perfect square but it does not provide the precise value for values upto 3 or more decimal places . For eg square root of 38 is 6.1644.. but by this method we get the result 6.1667..

    If we calculate square root of 10 as 16 - 6, we are getting "3.25". But if we do as 9 + 1 its correct as 3.16. As you said we can either add or subtract. Why should we only take as 9 +1, why not 16 - 6.

      Choose the closest perfect square. In the example you have listed nine squared is closer to 10 than four squared. So select 9 squared.

    what about under root of 40? If I add 36 + 4, I get two square numbers

    • @nammalwarthiruvengadam2925
      @nammalwarthiruvengadam2925 Год назад

      40 = 36 + 4 = 6^2 + 4
      sqrt 40 = 6 + 4/12 = 6.3
      If you want the result for 2 decimal accuracy, find the square root for 4000 and deduce for 40.
      4000 = 3969 + 31 = 63^2 + 31
      sqrt 4000 = 63 + 31/126
      = 63 + 0.24
      = 63.24
      For sqrt 40 = 6.324

    Thank you sir...
    I've gave a test after seeing this video, where there is need to find square root, you can't even chose approximate values as the answers are close to each other, so I used this sir's technique and found the answer easily and after checking my answer was correct...😀😀😀
    Thank you sir for your wonderful techniques, please keep posting these type of videos which are useful in exam times...
    Thanks again sir..😊😊
