First time Rock Climbing in Yosemite National Park | 48hrs in Yosemite

- We finally went rock climbing in Yosemite National Park and it was... challenging to say the least... but we still had an amazing time! With only a short 48 hours to spend in the Valley, we tried our best to make the most of it. Showing our friends the ropes (literally), getting in a little over our heads... camping, sight-seeing, swimming in rivers, and all of the valley vibes - this was definitely our favorite trip to Yosemite so far. We're already itching to go back and climb some of that sweet, sweet granite! Enjoy :)

If you like these videos we’d REALLY appreciate a “like” and “subscribe” 🙏 Thanks for watching!
I think John Muir would be happy that there’s people like y’all still exploring nature
That’s for the vid! I just live the colors, composition, and sound. Not to mention all the scenic views!
Many cinematic qualities in this composition. Thanks for sharing and inspiring!
Fun vibe, keep living the dream
The shot, editing, vibes, just top production from you guys! Wow 🏕⛰
🙏
Not a full value valley experience without a sweaty day climbing and a cold dip in the almighty Merced. "Oh that is frigid" - couldn't agree more!
😍
YOUR content always inspires me to be creative and follow my passion for filmmaking. The opening scenes were just beautiful.
Thanks so much! I hope we can continue to deliver! 🙏
Always love the look/feel of your videos. Definitely inspiring for someone just figuring out what they want to do with their content and how to actually use their camera.
What If I told you we’re STILL figuring out what we want to do with our channel? 😬😅 haha
@@codyandvictoria Oh boy this is not good news for me 😂
@@courtclimbs haha it’s a constant growth change cycle
You guys need to make a Spotify playlist of all the music you guys use! :)
What a vibe, definitely a bucket list destination for me.
such a neat place to spend some time. thanks for sharing.
This was so cool that waterfall coming out that mountain was awesome
Simply perfect! Captured the valley feels immaculately
Thanks man! Looks like we just missed ya
Nice and clean!! Hope to be able to exploring Yosemite soon!
Stunning place, sick climbs!
You two are amazing. Just so you know I like, subscribe and turned on all notifications and your videos never pop up! I'm sure I'm not the only one.
Ooh man! Not the news we want to hear 😖 Hopefully RUclips figures it out.
I really enjoyed your video! nice shot and beautiful music
Love your vids, great work! And have fun shooting film :) I recently drove to an old castle near me and there were like 4 people shooting film, it‘s crazy how fast the number of people trying it has grown in the last years, and I LOVE that! Keeps this medium alive and respected.
Love the color grade on this.
Hey thanks! Still figuring out the whole grading workflow on the new M1 Max
Hey guys great video. A couple that camps together, stays together! I am loving this content you guys are one of my favorites, along with Xander, Lost Lakes and The Lazy Camper. All of your videos are beautifully shot. Thank you for sharing your adventure!
Thanks for watching Sabrina! Gonna have to check out some of those other channels 😜
BIG JOHN HAMILTON ! Great vibes you guys nice stuff ❤️👏🏾
😍
CHILLS. Yosemite is one of those unforgettable places. I've only been once, but it made me want to move from NC to CA just to be closer. Love the video! (as always)
It’s an absolutely stunning place! Love that we’re so close
This was a super fun one. Well done, guys. 👏🏽👍🏽
Morning! Aw I was waiting for a full pan shot of that end climb 😍 that was so pretty
Ah sorry Becca. I (Cody) always tell myself “nobody ever watches till the end” so I just cut it short lol. Next time I’ll make sure it’s all in there.
A bucket list goal for us. Amazing vid guys 🖤
Love this vlog!! As much as I would have liked to spend more time, I had a short time as well, only a day. It really makes you appreciate and soak it all in at once. BEAUTIFUL this time of year :)
Yewwww! Awesome intro! 🙌
What a great experience!! Thank you so much for sharing you guys story! Cody and Victoria🍻
the opening shots were beyond gorgeous!! I am so inspired by your cinematography guys!
Above all, I'm so inspired to get out there and explore ⛰️🥾
Aw yay 🙌🏼 thanks for watching
Love the music in this one. Different then most. I dig it. Also idk what I’m doing with my life. Just watched this on my phone sitting in my front room that has an Apple TV haha.
Music is the hardest part of editing for me haha. Glad you can appreciate it
Ciao, we are follwing you from Italy. your videos are amazing and inspiring.
i’m back watching my favorite couple/youtubber🫰
guys stoooooopppppp!!!!😃😃😀😀 *WHAT?!* i’m DED!! the fact that you guys got to do any climbing in Yosemite is in *insaaannee* to me! and omg! your friend getting to climb outside for her *first time* and it’s at Yosemite?!?🤭😮 also this vlog gave slight sundance film festival vibes!😎 the music really was used well! hi, btw!😂😂
- jamie
Heyyyy 👋 it was amazing out there but the climbing is definitely on another level. 😅 hope to get back and work on our skills soon! Thanks as always for watching and commenting
@@codyandvictoria ohh yeah!! i can only imagine!😂😂 but you guys will get your skills up!😃😃and ur welcome! you guys know i love your vids!😃
Don’t be discouraged by Yosemite climbing.
It’s TOUGH. Anything that’s chill is super polished!
"Always nice to do a trip with friends". Then it immediately cuts to showing y'alls wildcountry friends cams lol. Vids like this just make me wanna drop everything and go back to the valley
Did not even notice HAHA. Sponsor me @wildcountry lol
Love it 😍
Always enjoy your trips! I can relate to disappointments, however, just being there would be a fantastic time and reward! Climbing has changed so much from when I used to do it. Back in the days of pitons.... Need more Hazel :)
Haha pitons are still around - mostly just stuck in a crack from ages ago 😝 Hope to get Hazel on the next one. Unfortunately no dogs in Yosemite!
@@codyandvictoria yeah Nat Parks are so uppity when it come to dogs. I am working with my congressman and the USFS and the North Cascade National Park to open up some trails in the NCNP to dogs.
great video, well done!
sooooooo cool
That shot at 08:53 😍😍
Beautiful video, you guys, in one of our favorite places in the whole world! The climbing shots were gorgeous and inspiring, especially on that last climb. Would you guys consider doing Snake Dike? That's very near the top of the list of adventures we'd like to do -- what a way to go up Half Dome!
Snake Dike is definitely on our tick list! Quite the approach!
I saw y'all biking in the Valley on Friday! Tried to yell hello unsuccessfully! Hello!
Ah! Sorry we missed you! We were probably on a mission 😂 but Hello!!
"First film photo, probably blew it." 😂😂
Haha I still have yet to develop the roll so we’ll see
We were just there in May and saw so many climbers. And first thing to come to mind was you! Saw one dude doing El Capitan and it was so awesome watching him from a far. Wonder how he can climb with balls of steel like that
Man you’d never know it but in the shot of me climbing right beneath el cap, there’s a super tiny black dot up high up on the face which is a group of climbers and their porta-ledge 😂 insane to see them so high above us!
Peepee pillar!!!
11:13 Fist Bump!
He asked for a fist bump…
Love the video! My wife is obsessed with Victoria's fashion choices lol. She was wondering what the blue-ish gray pants were Victoria was wearing when you get back to the van around 10:50?
Wow... I don't think I've ever had a compliment about my fashion😅 I got those pants at a thrift shop in Colorado. Not sure if they still make them but they're North Face hiking/climbing pants
-V
@@codyandvictoria if you could only imagine the extreme disappointment on my wife's face after reading that 🤣🤣🤣
This is truly amazing. Any chance you can do a tutorial on your method of color grading in slog3 since you made the switch from cine4? I've been using your old method for my last couple of videos and it helped me out alot. Would love to see a little behind the magic!!!
I think I found your GoPro Hero 4 at the goodwill. It had Tahoe shots on it.. too funny
That is 100% my GoPro. Lmao forgot to format the card I guess 😂😂😂
More videos!!!!!!!
SNAKE DIKE on Half Dome!!
Snake Dike is on our list!
Fun climbs, fun adventures! Did you guys have to get a permit really far in advance to camp where you stayed?
Those are some amazing night shots. Is this shot on a Full Frame cam?
Just happened to run across your channel! Captured it beautifully.. curious what camera and lense your using when your riding your bike. Cheers!
A7iv and 16-35f4
Awesome video you guys! Just out of curiosity, have you spent any time in the Washington National Parks? Planning a trip there for late fall and would appreciate any insight you’ve got on cool trails/sights 🙏
“It’s just a stupid bolder, it’s not just any bolder… it’s a rock”
The pioneers used to ride these babies for miles!
Was this over by Camp 4 ??? Just stayed there this past weekend!!
How about your dip in the Merced? I don’t think it’s much warmer in August
NOT WARM
Diggin' the climbing content here lately :) What crags have you been? Anchors were bolted?
Non bolted anchors on the multi pitch
"Cheers to not dying." What a blessing it is to be alive, huh? What route was the route you guys climbed at the end?
After Six but with the After Seven start and then on the third pitch we accidentally ended up on pitch 3 of CS Concerto 😅 but generally speaking it was After Six
Hey! Just bought Lut pack number 11, trying to match this color look like in your video, Do You tweak a lot after applying the lut , can you tell what LUT You used here in this video ?
Always tweak. No LUT will ever be a one-click-wonder. I believe I’m using Englewood and tweaking for lower contrast
@@codyandvictoria Thats, true, thanks for replay!
Great video like always! I'm wondering how did you manage to get a camping site at this time of the year? Did you make a reservation like 6 months ago or just tried your luck with the lottery?
Best bet is to make a reservation in advance or wait for a last minute cancellation
well there goes that Jack Daniels sponsor
Lmao. Sorry Jack
Watching this video makes me hate living in Houston more than I already do
🤣
What climb did you jump on at the end? Looked rad!
After Seven / After Six on Manure Pile with an accidental pitch of CS Concerto (which was spooky haha).
Sick! I’ll have to check it out next time I’m out that way thanks!
What film camera did you get Cody? I’m planning to buy my first film camera soon
Canon AE-1. I’ve had it forever just too cheap to purchase film 🤪
@@codyandvictoria 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I’m too cheap to buy a disposable film camera
What routes did you guys get on in the valley?
Pee Pee Pillar Left, Pee Pee Pillar (top rope), Pine Line (Top rope), and then we climbed After Six with the After Seven start variation
I didn't know you guys were good friends with Sam Harris
What was the name of the first route you guys climbed?
Pee Pee Pillar Left 🤙🏼
So did yall get down? lol
Still up here 😝
