    A wonderful performance of a great arrangement of this piece. I discovered it through another wonderful performance on youtube by Khatia Buniatishvili. I then learnt it as I was so inspired. Very useful to see the score as it’s played as I was particularly interested in the fingering for the trills which I find the most difficult aspect of this arrangement. Thanks for another valuable contribution to the music world. It’s appreciated by many.

  • @H5691j

    As best as I can figure, the original piece was written by Handel in the first half of the 18th century and most likely for harpsichord as I’m unaware if Handel even knew of the piano’s existence. The original composition probably languished for about 200 years until Kempff wrote his transcription sometime prior to 1954 when it was published. Kempff utilizes the piano’s extended lower range for broader contrast which was unavailable to Handel during the Harpsichord’s reign.

    Hello can somebody who know classical theory tell me what this means "arr Wilhelm Kempff" does it mean that the only original from Handel version is the melody and harmonic or does it just mean that Kempff did the transcription and no more?

    • @mozartpiano7923
      @mozartpiano7923 3 года назад +2

      I think it refers that Wilhelm kempff did an arrangement for modern piano. This piece was used to be interpreted on a clavichord, and articulations and dynamics changes, he also specified how the ornaments should be played. But I'm not completely sure.

    Truly flat recording. On the repeat you should improvise as per the baroque era...more trills, arpeggiated cords, mordents, even some scalic runs. There is barely any dynamic variation leaving the recording utterly lifeless and this piece deserves much as the passion is there, but you ignored it...such a shame.
