You are hilarious. Segovia and beautiful sound? Non sequitur city. Thanks for the laugh. But the guitarist in this youtube video does have one thing in common with Big Daddy Segovia: squeaks galore. The great guitarists in my personal hall of fame produce very few if any squeaks when they play. There are only a few that achieve this. Christopher Parkening became a fallen idol after I sat on the first row of his concert in Washingon D.C. years ago and heard squeak after squeak emanate from his fretboard. A very dirty sound, indeed. Somehow the recording engineers seem to have managed to mask these on his recordings. But if the squeaks are a "beautiful sound" to you, fine.
@@capomoverIt sounds like you have not seen many guitarists live. Squeaks are impossible to remove completely. You can reduce the volume of squeaks, which is done here, but you cannot fully remove them without completely lifting your finger from the string, which is not possible in many advanced pieces, so guitarists learn to work around this. A squeak is a change in position on the guitar. This is normal at best. It could be you've been used to edited performance recordings or live performances that did not capture the squeaks you might never have realized were always there.
She played this piece when she was very young and on a brand new guitar. Her artistry and talent proceeds her exquisite interpretations of music since then. She is among the most talented classical guitarist in the world.
Thank for this interpretacion. I´m from Mallorca and I hadn´t ever heard about this song. Would be nice to see you one day playing in it here. God bless you, beautiful lady...
È difficile trovare in un'interprete così giovane una tale intensità espressiva. Lasciando da parte la tecnica, impeccabile per altro, ciò che più attrae e la raffinatezza del tocco e la varietà dei colori. Bravissima!
How sweet sounds this marvelous music.. specially played by a fresh soul who scaped from the natural youth rock & roll stream and EMBRACED GOOD MUSIC...congratulations beautiful...follow your artistic instincts and enlighten us with your good taste, your musical skills and YOUR MAGIC...Good Bless You..
You are a genius Stephanie! Whenever you play a piece, it's like you are taking your listeners down memory lane. Listening to you is like traveling to places. You are really good at what you're doing! Keep it up!
Saw one recent comment mentioning Segovia - the performer I love and know every sound of his performances by heart since my childhood, but sweetie, I think at least in this Mallorca performance of yours, you're incredible and, as I never thought I'd say this, but I think I like your performance better. You're more naive and profound at the same time, and in parts require great mastery, you're so natural (example around 4:40s) and you make your melody dance with your fingers. Bravo!
I have been listening to several videos of yours today (Nov. 24, 2020) while doing chores around the house. Good music is so helpful to us in daily life in many ways. I had no idea that you have been performing at such a level for so long. I can't take it any more, hehe !! Accolades and praises upon you for your hard work and dedication over the years.
The problem is all these great guitarists are on different schedules...I'd love to see a 24 hour festival of guitarists all in one place...The wood stock of guitar fests if you will...just madness. Bring it. If I win the lottery I'm gonna bankrupt myself doing just that.
Don’t forget Anabel Montesinos, Tariq Harb, Julia Trintschuk, Pardy Minassian and Celil Refik Kaya to name a few very talented players extra ;-). That would be some magnificent concert !
Eres hermosa y además interpretas muy bien Mallorca, porqué no subes un video en vivo?, se apreciaría mucho mejor creo yo. Espero algún día tocarla ya que tengo la partitura.Saludos de chile...
Tatyana is the the queen of the classical guitar but Stephanie Jones here is doing a good job of chasing after that crown. Ana Vidovic is of course great but one notices her effort more than the other two. Tatyana and Stephanie are flying freely giving more to each detail effortlessly and to this I'd say Tatyana is the maestra.
Stephanie, is it weird that I adore your spirit and love your smile? Weird or not it's true, but hopefully not too creepy. I also share the predominant sentiment that you know how to phrase a bar, no fret off key about it. Plus, you're a cute pixie with a hint of Tasmanian devil. Need I say more? I could, but have heard that silence speaks volumes, or is it louder? Is golden? Did I mention your smile?
She definitely has something special. She really tells a story when she plays. And she produces the most beautiful sound since Segovia.
I dunno, Per from Denmark performs better if you've heard him, or Julian Breams Sevilla is stonking.

OMG! Exquisite ! Thank you, Ms. Jones. This may be my favorite performance of Mallorca.
You play with such passion and beauty. I'm glad I discovered you.
A beautiful performance of a Spanish classic. Lovely tone.

When I listen to this piece played by Stepnanie I am transported to another world. For me personally this is musical perfection.

This was 8 years ago. She was a prodigy way back then.

Don't forget about Tatyana Ryzhkova.

💋
Que hermoso tocas yo quiero tocar como tú y si llego legos te quisiera conocer
The only thing I fail to understand is how 11 tone-deaf, musically bankrupt people managed to give a thumbs down to this.
????
