I think everybody listening knew he meant 1994. Still a very thoughtful and insightful summery of the terrible tragedy by the great Bob Costas.
Ill give Bob a pass. Hes been on tv with sports and a mildly succesful late night talk show basically all my life. Hes had some of the best moments in sports as an announcer and commentator. Hes an icon in the business. He gets pass from me and its probably first time ive seen him flub 2 instances in 1 segment.
I remember watching the Bronco chase on TV for hours. It was wild. That was 30 years ago and so much has changed in the news media and technology.
It's funny because I was thinking the samething. We came along way from the old brick phone/ J&J Beeper Analog TV days.
That Bronko chase should have NEVER happened. Should have been taken into custody as soon as they spotted him.
Even Police are intimidated by the rich and famous. Nothing has changed. We are still living with a 2-tiered justice system.

The infamous Bronco chase happened on my 12th Grade High School Graduation Day. We all watched it at my house while partying. BBQ, Beer, breaking up with my girlfriend, getting a new car as a graduation gift, Music, basketball final, and the most famous freeway chase in LA history. All at the same time! Not many people can say that....(or maybe they can)....

Look at the details of the physical evidence and it is clear that he did it. Given the condition of the bodies it was clearly a crime of hatred. He had his blood and the victims blood in multiple locations. He got away with it due to fame, money, and race.
Bob Costas can cut through the BS better than any sports commentator. he doesn't tip toe around, like in Baseball with steroids. So many others ignored it because we loved Big Mac, Bonds etc hitting 70 homers in a season, but he besides having a computer for a brain has a moral compass, which is so rare. He was friends with OJ. Liked him a lot, but knows he did it. Forget race and all this other stuff. Just look at the evidence individually, as in all cases.
Any organized crime group would have done it cleanly, not leaving all the evidence to be found by the authorities. Rookie did it, this was not a professional hit like OJ claimed.
All murders are of hatred, but yes his especially was very much so

Whatever you think, you're innocent until proven guilty. The jury wasn't convinced he was proven guilty, so he's innocent. If I was someone on the TV network staff helping with the NBA playoffs and I picked up the phone with someone saying "This is O.J., I need to talk to Bob Costas" I would have hung up on them too. Obvious prank in my mind. In this instance, it was real. I have no idea if that call did happen during the game, whether NBC would have aired it live, but that would have been interesting.

If the Glove doesn't fit it's because he got good lawyers and was jamming is thumb awkwardly bad acting putting it on which was allowed to fly in court and the glove probably also dried up and shrunk from the blood plus he's wearing a white glove underneath, how does all this fly in court that trial was such a sham, not to mention the extremely tainted jury handpicked by OJ's lawyers that knew which way they were going before the trial even began it was shockingly surreal and all so unbelievable and if you don't believe me look at Robert Kardashians face when the Not Guilty comes in if that doesn't tell you that even he was shocked nothing will.
I also heard after OJ died that his dream team told him not to take his arthritis meds so his hands would swell making the glove too tight. Also, left one glove at the scene and other one was at his residence. Only person to be found innocent when his DNA (at the scene) showed he's guilty.
