I think Ron GOldman's parents would not have agreed that he was not a threat to the community. He killed two people when he got mad, what was to stop him repeating it next time someone pis#$ed him off? I'm not necessarily sold on any particular theory regarding what happens when you die or how it relates to your behavior on earth, but maybe his denial that he was ill to the public and those around him was related to some fear he may have had about what waited for him in the afterlife.
