btw, when Discord's talking about all the far- reaching consequences for different characters (i.e. The school fillies that were traumatized by what they saw), he should have mentioned the guilt that the Wonderbolts and ESPECIALLY Rainbow Dash would be feeling over the fact that they couldn't save Dinky, as well as how disturbed they'd be by the fact that they actually SAW Dinky's death.

Given how she prides herself as being the best flyer in equestria? It's definitely gonna do a number on her confidence; she's fast enough to do a sonic rainboom but she wasn't fast enough to save a young child. That's gonna haunt her for a good long while.

I'm really happy to see a story that doesn't just say "bullies are evil, they deserve what they get, and so do all of the family who raised them that way!" I'm glad to see one that talks about how bullies can be ignorant to their own bullying, and can be turned around, if people give them the chance and time. I hope that more people will not just stand up to bullies, but help them realize what their doing, and at least tell them that they can change.
This is a very sad fanfic with a very important message. Bullying is not a joke, it never has and never will be a joke. But the sad truth is... no matter what we do... it will never go away. The best we can do is stop as much as we can and prevent the bullying as much as we can.
Not many people realize that this sort of thing happens all the time. I once tried to kill myself after severe bullying and how much of a burden I was. If it wasn't for a random memory flashing back into my mind of a promise I probably would have done it. If you ever see someone being bullied you should always interfere or if it's too late at least comfort the person. Make them feel like they are worth something before they become nothing at all.

Yep. I've been there too. I was pick on alot, had low self-esteem, and at the time I wasn't very good at school so one night? After a fight with my parents? I tried to kill myself. Only reason I didn't go through with it was because I remembered that tge only friend I had (and still have) saw in me then what I sometimes still don't see in myself. It took 6 hospitalizations, years of therapy, countless combinations of mood medicines, and a school transfer to help rebuild my mental & emotional state. Looking back? I just want to hug the smaller, sobbing 6th grade me and tell her "it's gonna be OK. You'll get through it. You're a survivor in more ways than you know. You have an amazing friend who's in your corner and she sees the diamond that you are."
This story is just an eye opener. Some never really do realize the damage they do to others, or they don't care until it's too late. Only, in this case a second chance was made possible.

This fan fic really hits home for me. I was bullied from middle school and through high school. I was the outcast, the loner, that shadow that was on the wall that people either seemed to resent or not even realize was there. I remember once that my arm got caught in the front door to the middle school I went to, and because there was a swarm of 100 or so students pushing me in, my arm almost got pulled from its socket. I guess what ever gods exist decided to go slightly merciful on me, cause I slipped through and landed on my face while other students walked over me or around me without helping me up... and five of the most athletic students stopped to point and laugh at me. To make matters worse, when I called my mother to tell her what happened after being sent to the office, she just laughed and basically told me not to be such a baby, no matter how much I was crying. My emotional state only sunk from there, and it got to the point where I was going to kill myself to end my suffering and -- like Dinky -- try to no longer be a burden to my friends and family. You know what the worst part is? I would've done it if it wasn't for my friend Austin. He's now my best, and only true friend, as well as my oldest friend. Right now, and for the past few weeks, I've realized my mother doesn't really love me, and that my family isn't really a family... Austin is really the only family I have cause he's encouraged me, gotten me to try some new things, and instead of mocking me when I told him I was a brony, he let me rope him into watching a few episodes, which lead to him becoming a brony too. He only continues to be a friend to me when I'm angrily venting about the biggest bully in my life, who happens to be the woman who gave birth to me. I think I've gotten off-topic... anyways, I know what it's like to be bullied, and I'm sure I've done some stuff I regret in the same way I was treated without even realizing it... I'm not so good at reading social situations, but I've gotten better. I've found it's best for me to use actions to speak for me and then have an open ear for people. I'm good at listening usually. But there is nothing we can do to change what we've done, we can't make deals with devils or gods or angles to reverse the damage we've made. All we can do is try to make up for what we've done and change ourselves for the better. I'd love to see Diamond Tiara get her dose of karma, and I'd love to see her fall, but what I'd love to see most of all is the day she realizes what she's done is wrong and then make actions to rectify her sins. And as a side note, I love how Discord was in this. It seemed very fitting, as was Luna's role. Oh geeze, just looked at what I typed, so I should stop now, sorry!
Man. That was........deep. But you're right. A true friend always stands up for what's right and is caring, even if it means embarrassing (by society's standards at least) yourself. And I hope that Hasbro can make a child appropriate consequence for Diamond Tiara and possibly Silver Spoon.
If it wasn't for my parents and the fact that I'm just so angry with the world for having peole bullies me for being diffrent I would have ended up much worst than Dinky I either would have killed myself or I would have ended up in jail for killing my bullies I ran away once I didn't even care I couldn't take it anymore why are people so mean why do they treat us like this what did we do to deserve this what did I do?

The first writing i heard about a pony suicide due to bullying was really shocking though I kinda might have predicted about it.After hearing this story, I now want to hear the other side of the story if Diamond Tiara had no second chance.
She gets sent to Tartarus, and basically rots away in a cage never learning her lesson or changing much like Cozy Glow... pretty anti-climatic when you think about it...
There are no 'bad guys' in bullying... but what we do wrong about bullying is ignore it. Bystanders, standing off to the sidelines by not saying something. The Victims who are told that they only way people to leave them alone is to ignore them, or to tell a teacher. I say that yes 'victims' should approach teachers. But what I felt the ponies did wrong with Diamond Tiara was that even though they brought it up with Filthy Rich they never addressed Diamond Tiara. And it took the body of CHAOS to finally turn her mind around. Ignoring the problem, like you said Scribbler, doesn't make the problem go away...

It took me a while to figure that out myself. I was like: hold up. Why does his voice sounded familiar and than I took a closer look and well christ on a stick.

That was a good story, not everybody is strong enough to take bullying head on and the fanfic shows that, I can imagine Derpy actually feeling that way if Dinky ever committed suicide because of bullying. I was bullied my entire life and never did I become a bully and never did I think about killing myself, but that's because I have a different mindset from most people that do some times.

Man, I can't get over how good that Diamond's, Silver's, Rainbow's, Granny Smith's, the Princesses', Spike's, Rarity's, Filthy Rich's, Cheerliee's, Discord's, the CMC's and the Wonderbolts voices sound. Very show accurate.
Yeah, marvelous voicework all around. Even for the characters who don't talk on the show (i.e. Dinky), the voices used fit them perfectly.
***** I thought I heard Apple Bloom's voice say one of Rainbow Dash's lines and that Apple Bloom's one line sounded more like Babs Seed. Also, I don't really think I hear a perfect impression of Princess Luna, and I just listened to a sound clip of Filthy Rich on BehindTheVoiceActors, and to me they sound nothing alike. Brain Drummond put on more of a country accent and kind of a smooth-ish bass voice, while Dr. Wolf just sounds like himself when he makes voice more gravelly. Of course, I actually like Dr. Wolf's take on Filthy Rich more than Brain Drummond's take, I'm just saying that I'm not hearing any similarities between the two.

This was very sad, but beautiful. Diamond Tiara's actions that drove Dinky to kill herself made me hate her even more than I already do. Bullying can do that where the person being bullied can go too far, no pun intended with story's title, and it can get to the point where person commits suicide. I've seen and heard this many times. Worst about it is that the person doesn't know what they did to that person until its too late, I hope I word that right. Words are more powerful than hitting or throwing a punch at anyone. Again, wonderfully done, Scribbler and to everyone involved in this story.
In a way, Diamond Tiara was a victim as well, due to bad parenting.

My version of the bad ending
•diamond tiara does not break through her pride and is sent to jail for 11 years.
•filthy rich moves to an area where no one in the apple family live and no one knows of the scandal until 2 years later. He wrote one final letter to his daughter and then took his own life.
•silver spoon and her family moved as far away as possible a week after, Silver spoon redeems herself and develops a deep hatred for her former best friend and anyone who is like her.
•derpy and sparkler are in therapy for many years but never truly moved on from dirky and have never forgiven filthy rich or diamond tiara.
•cheerilee became much more strict and does not tolerate any bullying at all.
•One of the butlers bought the rich family house and keep all eyes and ears on any pony talking about diamond tiara or her father. He knows she'll be back.
•barnyard bargains went bankrupt and eventually went out of business.
•diamond tiara is not allowed back at all.
F***ing hate Diamond Tiara. 'Diamond Tiara shrugged and prepared to walk off.' HOLY CELESTIA WHAT WAS THAT 'Shrugged and prepared to walk off.' NO NO NO NO! I tolerated her but know, Celestia. Oh my gosh. No.

Beautiful job, Scribbler. Everyone did so great with this one, and it conveys an amazing message. Some people bully without even realizing they're doing it, and they don't know how far they're going. It's truly heartbreaking, but I do hope that this fic and the message conveyed with it can give many a great revelation of what bullying truly is, and the impact it can have on others. Bravo again!

While a sequel might be nice, I personally think that the way it was left off was excellent. You don't want to derive from the idea of bullying and the impact it has on others and how a little kindness goes a long way, after all. :)

I'm not saying the author is bad in fact judging by this goosebumps inspired plot, I'd say he/she is godlike, but we don't need a sequel to this masterpiece...

Wow, I'm staggered by the amount of work all of you talented collaborators have put into this. It really shines through. I am glad that the vacuum of Diamond's emotional response was at least pointed out, it seemed most of the consequences were very material and not very psychological for awhile. But, that's probably the kind of character Diamond was meant to be. And I'm very glad you elaborated on some of the psychology behind the bullies themselves, Scribbler. It is too easy to vilify bullies. Care must be given to the victims, to be sure, but casting bullies as the incurable "other" won't really solve any problems.
As always, I am left with much to think about.

Only stumbled across this now, but... dayumn. Very good reading, especially with the big cast involved. The message hits right at home, and the ending is truly happier than reality. In a sense, anyway.
As someone who was bullied in school, I felt bad for Dinky. Bullying is wrong, at any age. It’s unfortunate that many victims of bullying take their lives.
Oh just a comment on how this fits into canon too, it seems like, from the show, there aren't actual prisons in Equestria. Minor crimes like theft or lying are dealt with through community services decided on the spot, and major crimes like murder and genocide are punished by banishment to Tartarus, like a far, far harsher version of prison.
So what does that mean for this? Well it means Diamond Tiara was going to go to Tartarus. That may seem over the top, but think about it, in Equestria, emotion is the most powerful force. Friendship is what has given the ponies the power to rule the world, and emotions can cause everything from storms to magic.
So bullying, and especially driving someone to suicide or self-harm, would be one of the most horrible, despicable crimes imaginable. In a society where acceptance of differences and compassion for each other is basically the greatest source of power, the law has to be extremely harsh on bullying.
This.... this just hit me so hard.... I had been avoiding this for so long.... but I finally decided to give it a listen. Im glad I did. I had been bullied ever since kindergarten all the way through middle school all because of a hormonal imbalance that makes hair grow on my arms and legs as if I were male, although im very much female. When I was younger I was called names but I brushed it off and ignored it as if it was nothing because I didn't realize I was being bullied... then as time went on things started getting more violent and hurtful. I started to notice everywhere I went in school or in public people would stare at me with curiosity, in school I had a few friends im grateful for because the other kids were disgusted by me and didn't want to be seen with me. I now have anxiety of people looking at me, I know it sounds weird but when im in school or in public I get genuinely scared of people staring at me, or even people coming up and talking to me. In the sixth grade it got to a point where I was pushed into my locker, taunting, being pushed in line, and then they started taunting me about my figure as well as well as my sexuality because I am bisexual. It got so bad, I tried to commit suicide but I failed each time, after my final try I had just gotten out of the hospital and returned to school and it still continued. I know people would say why not tell the teacher or your parents? The thing is, I tried to tell the teacher but nothing happened, they always thought I was making up stories just to get pity or sorrow from that to get better grades and I couldn't tell my parents either because they don't like me just as much. I was and still am being bullied by my own mother because of my figure, my father just sits back and doesn't do a thing but ive learned to live with that. I withdrew from social interaction, I isolated myself for two years not making friends or even attempting to talk at all, everyone thought I had no voice. It wasn't until I entered high school last year that I noticed I noticed ive actually forgotten how to make friends... but I slowly am getting better, heck I have a boyfriend and ive been dating him for a year now. I don't have many friends and I have an anxiety of having to talk to strangers, but im taking baby steps sure it isn't easy but im slowly becoming more social. My boyfriend understands my struggles and is helping me become more social. Unfortunately I do have my set backs, like I'm bipolar and I do tend to loose my temper very easily and because of that people don't really want to be my friend. But I guess some could say, my story has somewhat of a happy ending to it nonetheless.

hugs! i completely understand just like you i was bullied since kindergarten all the way through middle school. its said that private schools are better but that just means you have the same classmates the same "enemy's" year after year. by the end i had my music as my only companion. i was the one who sits by himself everyday at lunch or doesn't eat at all because hes just so afraid of talking to others. my junior year a girl at lunch came by and randomly gave me a hug and invited me to her table. i quickly declined after some prodding she gave up and brought her table to me. that was the first group of people i spoke to, out of class work in something like five years. its been four years now, i'm out of collage and married to that same girl, and it all started with a hug. i still have anxiety about new people but at least i can speak to them.
Axle Spark The thing that finally pushed me out of my solitary confinement was in my freshman year, a girl came up to me and asked me to be part of her group for a project we were doing in class. I quickly declined and said that I preferred working alone but after a full class time of asking I finally gave in and joined. It was then that I found I had a lot in common with her and next thing I knew she was introducing me to her group of friends and because of that I met the guy that would become my fiance. She's the one that got me into my little pony after she found out my name was Luna. She is like a sister to me and well I owe everything to her.
I think the fact that this is an Mlp fic makes it like 100% more impactful

So to have a scenario where a character was *bullied* into suicide is just... Damn. I think it really expresses how much a single person can cause the downfall of someone's mental health so much that they think the only solution is suicide.
Though this was amazingly done and read to portray it!
I was bullied quite extensively as a kid, the first grade school I went to had very little in the way of supervision at recess and the easy access to tools like spades meant fights actually got scary, so usually I just ran. When we eventually moved and I changed schools however, I wasn't used to the more verbal kind of bullying and usually responded with immediate violence instead of crying or running away, since the kids attacking me were usually shorter (I got tall fast). In retrospect, while I never turned bully myself, I probably really hurt a few other kids. Bullying really can have serious life-altering consequences on children, it should never just be brushed aside as something harmless and normal for children to participate in. :/

I'd to see an alternate ending where Diamond Tiara has to deal with the consequences of her actions, because let's face it: in real life, if someone bullies someone to death, they don't get another chance. They can't undo what they've done. To see what Diamond Tiara would have to go through, to see her face the struggles and suffering as a result of her actions...that could really scare a bully into learning what they have done. There may be bullies watching this video, and they need to learn that their actions do have consequences. Mostly permanent.
Yeah but then, a child being sent to jail for that wouldn't be realistic, plus the rest of the story would just be DT telling them that it isn't fair and Luna would tell her to stfu while she is getting processed for some good old adult daycare

The story was fantastic! It is kind of scary to know though that there are people like that, that genuinely take pleasure in hurting others, that there are people that actually get joy from this. The way tiara talks at the beginning is really freaky because you can tell she genuinely means every word.
This story really touched my heart. I felt so sorry for little Dinky how Diamond Tiara made her life so miserable that she took her own life. That's so sad. It shows how bullying can cause so much damage to someone. Not all victims of bullying take their lives like Dinky did in this story, but all victims of bullying can suffer a profound hurt for the rest of their lives. The road to recovery is long and hard for the bullied victim. There are over 300000 cases of bullying in Australia every year.
Too bad Hasbro would never dare or even be allowed to do something like this.
I wish they could too because it will teach kids that bullying is wrong.
You see, this is why I love fanfics so much. They help me to see the reality of different situations and scenarios. Bullying is a terrible thing, and this fic just proves how it can affect more than one person. This is a beautiful fic, and you did a great job with it. Keep being awesome. /)

When I was being bullied I didn't realise because back then I always thought bullying meant you weren't fighting back... It took me a long time to find out I was wrong wrong. It's horrible to know what people think about you and the worst part is that they'll never say why they truly hate you because they hate you so much you can't get to a personal level with them... That's the worst part for me.

Really proves what happens when you bully someone too much. I was bullied by a girl in Elementary school because of I guy I liked. It turns out that she liked him too and she hated me for it. She would trip me and kick me and throw a basketball at my head at recess and even one of my only friends went to her side. They worked together to beat me up and I still hate her for it. Every time I bring it up she says it was funny. I used to go home every day crying to my mom how much I hate my school and how much I hate my friends and she said to fight back. So once, I did. She never picked on me ever again. I honestly think you really should fight back when it comes to bully's. I know they say tell your teacher but What's the worst they could do? Give them a F in friendship? Do you get my point? Bully's have a terrible life at home and think the thing they can do to heal themselves is ruin other people's lives. So don't become the bully or the bullied. It's hard to get through but you can make it! You just have to try!

I remember playing this 2 years ago, this does deliver a powerful message towards those who are Bullies or those who are being bullied, and it delivered a powerful message to me because during the events 2 years ago i was somewhat a victim of being bullied, to this day the bullying stopped and i'm losing my train of thought because i'm listening to this audio fic. :/
This old, but like, I literally cried when I heard Derpy's cries for her daughter Dinky...like, Derpy's too precious to write her into this depressive stories...she's too pure, too good for this world, and tbh she deserves ALL the happiness in this world, she forever will be my/our fav background pony ^u^

Absolutely perfect. I used to be bullied in Elementary School, but I managed to get my problem to stop.
I hope that schools start to stop bullying entirely, It hurts people psychology, physically and mentally. I admitted to my broadcast class that I am a brony and they we're alright with this, I was afraid I was going to get ridiculed, but I have not have anyone who picked on me because I liked MLP.
I think you said it best about bullying, You're message has to be spread to everyone.

Wow, I was frozen and attached to the screen, you're voice is so dynamic and relaxing. The voice acting was great too. Also, excellent emotion to who voiced Rainbowdash, and filthy rich's voice actor has a fabulous voice!! Every was really good!! Such a dramatic fic....T__T but hopefully effective,

Listening to this late at night before I go to bed ... next thing I know I'm lying wide awake ... unable to go sleep ... just trying to wrap my mind around what in the world I just listened to ... all I can say is how bloody brilliant this is. Heartwrenching, yes. But still beautifully told. Everyone played their parts fantastically well, too.
And for the love of all things equine, I wish, wish, WISH the show itself gave Tiara as much character as this story does. Instead the show insists on making her so one-note.

Love this reading. I was a victim to a bully and I can relate to this. It touches me about what dinky did and when diamond finally learned what she did wrong. It aslo touches me how she accepts the second chance, even if it took Discord's skills to widen her perspective. But I can't help wondering what will Discord receive.
Possibly her soul in the place of dinkys, that's usually how most satanic deals work out...
Jake Tucker I don't think so. If it were her soul, Discord would have taken it right away. He wanted her to do him a favor later on. I'm guessing he is secretly planning to do something awful in the near future, but would need her to help him with it and almost certainly means for her to take the fall for it (After all, he's supposed to be "Reformed").
I think the best part was Discord, his bitting remarks weren't all 'your a monster because you bullied her to death' but more of 'think of all of whom you've actually hurt, not just your friends and family but the Dinky's family and of all the other's who had seen her body' his remarks by far cut the deepest and was hands down the best in terms of voice acting (but thats more of a personal biast there X3)
It's been a few years since I had listened to one of your stories, but I am back. I am glad. Mentally I haven't been doing so well. This is the first story I had listened to for a few years and I am now remembering why I used to listen to these. It keeps me going and helps me get through my not so ordinary (in a bad way) life.
I skipped to the part when derpy was screaming "WHY?!?!" and I immediately started crying.
This story conveys a powerful message. Words are the most powerful weapon. The things we say can end lives.

This reminds me of a friend... He was going to commit suicide because he felt that everyone was sad because of him. We're so lucky me and 3 friends drove to his house and talked him out of it. This made me feel sad. Thank you for reading this and hopefully people will see, bullying go's a long way.
This story was tragic at first. I realized that Diamond Tiara would be nice to the others like we might see in season 5.
On another note, great read, a perfect way to kick off anti-bully week. Forgot about it this year, but I'll do something next year

It's really sad how real this is. It's...almost painful to listen to. Diamond Tiara does not deserve redemption, and no matter what Hasbro says, she will never be a good pony. Not only did she bully Dinky into suicide in this story, but she completely destroyed her father's life. I hate her, so much. Please tell me I'm not the only one?!

I was kind of expecting something different to happen in this... like DT is given her second chance, but she doesn't get to stay in that alternate timeline, the moral being that our actions have consequences and that we cannot go back and change them, we have to live with them the rest of our lives, though it's heartbreaking that it really does take death to make someone see what they've been doing.
I was also thinking something similar, like discord being a cheep day-u-sex for a happy ending. And while I would have preferred the story to play out that way, it wasn't until the part after Diamond was nice to Dinkey in the AU timeline when Silver Spoon question if that was the real Dimond, and Diamond though about how she was so rotten, that her being nice seemed impossible and suspesiouse to other ponies. That's when the weight hit me, or at least, nicely made up for going that route
Think about discords deal as a deal with the devil, he does what dt wants, and asks for a favor in return, he didn't say what the favor was however, for all we know dt may be going to taurtarus, so in a way he's teaching her that every choice has a consequence, in his own, slightly sadistic way...
I kinda agree, diamond tiara faces no consequenses and that makes her spoiled, discord could have helped somenone else who really deserved a second chance,
1) I don't want Dinky to be dead, she is the kid of Derpy (the cutest pony in my opinion) and doctor whooves (she might be a unicorn because one of her grandparents might have been, it's my theory at least). 2) You do have a point....

Gettin' scary good with these large-cast productions, Scribbler! :D Kudos to Ebony Tails and Mica Franchi: they both stood out as really nailing their characters.
The voice acting for Derpy gave me chills. It really felt real.

This was really amazing. Not only was the fic good, but the production and voice acting from everyone in this was breathtaking.
As for bullying.....I can't stand it. As a child, I was bullied only three times. Twice I made the bully my friend because I had no idea I was being picked on. The third time had a lasting emotion effect on me for many years and it was only for one day...I have no idea what it'd be like to deal with that every day.
As much as it pains me to say, I know, looking back there where times I was a bully and had no idea. I thought I was just teasing a friend. Being mindful of our words and actions is not something we are educated on :(

This is so awesome scribbler you and your friends did a fantastic job doing voices specially the one who play is Luna and I really like when derby sniffles those little squeaking sound she did as she cried when she came into the classroom it’s just too adorable I can’t help to see awww I really hate bullies so much a used to be bullied back in the day but not anymore I don’t know why bullies are such jerks to the ones who are weak and helpless but sometimes you have to face the danger and stand up for others so remember everybody if you see someone in trouble you must stand your ground put your foot down and show them who is the real alpha! If they’re in real trouble call some back up like your friends or the teacher at school grownups always help if one of the pulleys pick on you just turn around walk away and pretend they don’t exist or they’re not even there! Don’t let your anger take control of you rage is a monster it will destroy you from within if you don’t control it you’ll become a monster then the bully itself! Just take a few deep breath and say like a river over Stone when I say those words to myself it’s always clears my head all time even when you’re in pain or angered by the ones Who are negative . Do not listen to the bullies lies and negatives just remember who you are and be yourself no matter what they say!!!
