@@Madvisionn this show is very loosely based on the DC comic character lucifer.......btw lucifer was an archangel, one of the first beings created by god(also lucifer was the twin brother of archangel michael demiurgess)......but after lucifer rebelled against god he was banished from heaven to rule upon hell thus making him a "fallen archangel"/devil.

He doesn’t actually punish anyone in hell. Think him as the warden of a prison and the demons do the actual punishing. He has been on earth for five years this time. He decided to leave hell because he was tired of spending time with the worst of humanity. He is curious because Chloe (the detective) is immune to his ‘mojo’ ( his ability to draw out people’s hidden desires).

"The Devil" is Lucifer's job. He never stopped being an angel, even after being cast out of Heaven. His argument with the other angel, Amenadael, is that God intended him to "rebel" the entire time, and the only reason why people think he is evil is because God says so, not because he's actually evil.

Amenadiel is Lucifers big brother and it’s his job to take Lucifer back to to hell and you will find out in a later season how Lucifer tricked him so he can stay on earth. Maze or Mazikeen to give her her full name is a demon who followed Lucifer out of hell.. She is very protective of Lucifer.
@@zackstoner4523 Its the episode where Lucifer's dressed in 70s disco clothes ala Saturday Night Fever and first ran into Chloe when she was at the nightclub which became Lux. She was standing next to him and he stopped talking mid-sentence because he sensed her presence.
In this epic, Chloe was just an Officer looking to make Detective and happily dating then eventually married to Dan.

Tom Ellis is Welsh born (Cardiff) but raised in London
Lucifer started off as an angel but he was different to all the other angels and got punished for it by god so god sent him down to hell to be the ruler of all the souls that go there. he also punishes bad people. and gets justice for the people that didn't commit a crime (which is basically what i know from watching this show)

Lucifer/Samael in the Bible is a fallen angel and was both bad and good. In this show, we see that he is also bad and good, and that he is redeemable. It questions whether humans do good or evil because they are influenced to by God or Satan, but rather shows that humans are responsible for their own actions
In seaso,n in the episode they show the first days of Lucifer,s stay on earth this time he visited. Amenadiel had his necklace stolen and he asked Lucifer for his help to get it back
. . Watch the episode again and pay attention to what Lucifer says when they have to spend more time on earth than Amenadiel wanted
. . Lucifer tricked Amenadiel into making a deal with him in exchange for helping him get his necklace back.
