I'm brazilian and I was living in Washington DC by that time. Watching the closing ceremony for a while I remember thinking: whre are the Men at Work?!? Right then they came singing this song that I used to play one million times on my car going to surf. EPIC!
Marcelo , I'm from Bahia , Soteropolitan and I still live in the neighborhood of boca do rio , from a poor family , with sacrifice I bought this record , but I didn't have a record player at home, when I could I would go to a friend's house and take this and a few more to listen, I always liked MEN AT WORK, in this closing ceremony I was thrilled to see these guys singing this iconic song. Thanks partner , two stories in the same event involving a song .

@@KingKusuo What a good partner, we are from different generations and my daughter who is 17 years old learned to enjoy men at work through my influence, we are here, grateful for your attention, thank you.

OMG ... I agree with you. I'm an American and I've ALWAYS loved 'Men at Work' and have always wanted to go to Australia. BUT .... I can't deal with a 22 hour plane ride, therefore I'll never make it. I have Australian friends here in the USA and the constantly tell me to GO, and that I'll love it. :)

Australia is one of the best places to live in the world. Most would point to west europe, and the usa, but many forget that at the other end of the world, there's another. the land down under
When I jokingly refereed to this as "The Australian National Anthem" on RUclips, people came absolutely unglued to rush out and tell me what a stupid American jerk I am. I'm glad to see people here get the joke. But every time I head the song, I get sad about that unfair legal decision regarding their rights.
Our unofficial anthem is " Its a long way to the top " . The legal decision regarding the song was right you must seek permission/approval before using someone elses material to promote your own.
All of Australia, mate... I left in 2003. Came back in 2014. The place is unrecognisable in some parts. I'm around for good (I still call Australia home as that other great anthem of ours goes) but for what they've done to this land down under, a suitable enough punishment has not yet been invented.
Aussies consider this as their National Anthem.. The song is just amazing...
This is our national anthem mate
Well put it this way it’s our Rock anthem
Too bad what they did to the authors though

Sydney 2000 had the greatest Closing ceremony in Olympic history and the greatest Olympics ever
In fact it was, and it still is..!
YES true!
London 2012 had a great closing ceremonies also.
S Y London was also good. I’ve also seen Athens 2004 Atlanta 1996 Barcelona 1992 Beijing 2008 I did not care for RIO 2016
My favorite was Athens. Not only did it rule, but my home country was hosting it.
My left ear is very happy...

not just me then lol
I was thinking the problem is on my earphones.
I nearly threw away my headphones 😂😂😂

O que mais me marcou nessa olimpíadas foi Man At Work tocando sensacional
e vou dizer quietinho pra não apanhar , melhor do que qualquer música dos jogos Rio 2016
Man at Work roubou a cena. Foi a cereja do bolo.
Não tem como ficar imóvel com este ritmo.
