What i learned as a prospect.....If asked how long you have been been prospecting by anyone say .."Not long enough" I was in a bar talking to a guy wearing my cut.He wasn't wearing any club gear.Turned out the guy I was talking to was an officer in a friendly club of ours. He called my Pres right in front of me and said.. " I got one of your prospects here ,Im talking to him right now". Moral of the story is you never know who you are talking to. and any club bussiness as small as how long you have in the club etc...keep your mouth shut. This guy was cool and didn't say anything to my Pres about it.But called him to show me you never know who you are talking to.He could have really got me in trouble. After the call he went over this lesson to make sure i understood.I am very thankful he handled it the way he did and i won't forget him for it. Im a full patch now and wanted to pay it forward to any new prospects down the road......Let me know if this helped anyone and if so i can post other tips.thanks...

When I was prospecting for the MC I am in, the worst part about it was my ex-father-in-law was the president. So any stupid shit I did would get reported back to him ASAP. The second worst part about my prosect period was the day after I was made prospect, my bike blew its motor. It took me two months to to find an engine but when I did I drove down to NC to pick it up. I was worried the whole time that my prospecting was over but my brothers saw how determined I was to get back on twos, but I made it to the day I was patched and the rest is history.

When I was “hanging around” for my club we went to a 1% event. At the event, my president said for me to go and shake hands and introduce myself with a group of the 1%ers sitting at another table… it was 3 guys. I shook the first hand then the second and when I reached over the table to shake the third hand I accidentally knocked over this man’s beer. I panicked and apologized several times and thankfully the guy was real cool about it. I immediately bought the whole table a beer and we were good.

One of the biggest lessons that can be summed up in this video is that clubs are not gangs. As a prospect you need to carry yourself a certain way but you always need to keep in mind you're new here. Great episode, Sose! I am with you 100%! You did the right thing by sticking up for your Brother from the 99% Club and I would have done the same thing. I came from an all Marine R/C and went to a Veteran M/C . I kept in contact with a couple of Brothers from the old R/C. These 2 Brothers showed me love and respect and wished me well when I left and went to the M/C. Later on when I was a Prospect with the M/C, a Patch Holder ( he was NEVER a Brother) had a beef with one of my old Brothers from the R/C and I stuck up for that old Brother. The Patch Holder was pissed at me and I ended up prospecting for 2 years because of that incident. I still say I did the right thing to this day! I ended up getting my patch in the MC and four years after I got my patch that patch holder that caused me all the trouble got put out bad. I ended up in that M/C as a Brother for 19 years. I am now back with the R/C and couldn’t be happier. One thing you have to remember is, you are a man first, and a man sticks to his beliefs. The patch doesn’t make the man; the man makes the patch!

In your opinion, how does the bike clubs/outlaw clubs view the Christian clubs? Are we considered a joke, or respected or maybe ignored? Hey Sose, thx for another great vid. I’m a full patch member now for a Christian MC and I did stupid thing as a prospect. My VP was taking me to different 1% club open houses to learn proper Protocols. My ride has an alarm system on it and when we arrived I turned on my alarm and it made that loud alarm sound when you activate it. A lot of different club members were standing there and all looked at me. My VP told me to never to that again as it was disrespectful. I felt sooooo dumb. Live and learn. Thx brother for all you do. I watched so many of your videos when I was prospecting and learned a lot. Be safe! 🙏

the worst I ever did to a prospect, is there was a few of us full patches at a local bar packed house band playing, I sent him to get 2 pitchers of beer we killed one right away then sent him back for more every time he would get back we had a empty one we did that about 4 times.

I never patched a club and wouldn't have been asked. I rode some beautiful classic Brits but no American bikes. Still I was invited to a couple of lake parties and a run or two, albeit short ones of a hundred miles or so. One lake party I was invited to, another club rode in and there was some kind of tension. I never did learn what was going on.
As things began to spin up I shouldered up next to the dude that invited me. It was only a couple of minutes before cooler heads prevailed and everyone ended up having a great time. One of the other members asked why I stood up with them since I wasn't with them. I told him they were the ones that waved me in to the party and I told him what my dad taught me to "dance with the one that brung ya". (Texas colloquialism mine).
I appreciate the education and wish it had been around when I was in the mix but I never had any real trouble and even had my butt pulled out of the fray by a couple of 1%ers once upon a time. God bless you Sose.

Hazing only works if done right. I know from my experience in the Army in 03 at basic the drills will make it a point to show you humility for being stupid but not in a way that is too harsh or not warranted. I think doing fucked up hazing stuff like making a guy drink, or eat messed up stuff has no place. That isnt a healthy way to test a mans loyalty or build it either. The story with the pushups, that is how it is done. Lead by example, never be afraid to do what your lower ranking brothers do. And always make sure the lesson your trying to teach as a leader is actually learned. That sergeant in arms sounds like he had some great leadership skills.

real brothers will do anything for another brother my main thing is that when i was prospecting a mess up i did was i hadn't gotten my enforcer outside with me and vp at a party one night and soon as i got home my old man socked me in the arm for not grabbing him or my enforcer so that right there i new that i mess up another mess up i did was we were riding on two,s and my seargant of arms and enforcer were going 100 in a 75 they both dissaperd on me so i went back to the crib bc seargent said if i didn't find them then go back to the crib so i did i was pissed off and soon as seargent came back seargent was screaming and yelling towards me so i popped him right in the mouth after that then walked off this kind of reminds me of soa when jax and clay get into a hole argument over stupid shit but seargent later got back at me but after that i was less likely to be pissed off so that was another mistake that i learned karma is a bitch when it comes back at u

ain't no manual,I had to learn as I went, 50 or so years ago. You do a lot of good for the newer riders maybe keep them out of a situation that could end up bad. I do know some younger guys chip on the shoulder and not knowing things can get them in trouble. So again Thanks.

In any organization that you are a member you must learn that you are serving a purpose greater than yourself. You give up your individual needs and choices. To a point.
I have been offered to prospect for a 1% mc and very respectfully declined, I am a family man, and I couldn't have membership in something else. I truly loved the men that asked me in but they had respect for my answer.
In a another instance I was doing some plumbing above a bike shop run by another 1% mc "elder" . He always had a prospect in the shop with him and I perceived them to be very tight. Nothing could get in between them. Boy was I wrong! One day while running a vent through the attic I heard all hell break loose down in the shop. The prospect got his a$$ beat for stealing a couple dollars in change from a toolbox. I stayed out of it and the prospect was gone when I finished my work. I later saw him , limping around in the next town over. The elder , volunteers to me his tolerance for thieves and liars.
Another instance and a different 1% club , there was a "poser" that frequented a local bar "Loud Pipes" back in the day I didn't know the guy but was some what familiar with him. One day while at Loud Pipes, one of the ladies told me that there was a visit from the mc he posed for. They came in , dragged him outside, put him on the deck and scrubbed his emblematic tattoo off with steel wool.
I raise my glass to them all but my mc is my family and they need me. No one is looking for me and I hide from no one. Keep your knees in the breeze, brother.

Why didn't you get "patched over" from your 99 club. On the west coast, if are a 3 patch club and want to join a 1%er, you can patch over. It is a 3 - 6 month breaking period. If you don't like club, or they don't think you would be a good fit. Then it's no harm no foul.

I am new to this whole Mc world. Learning things everyday. A word a hear a lot is "BROTHER" to me is kind of funny how loosely it's used. You see me once twice and we brothers not... to me first it's earned by time just as respect, integrity, I need to know who you are and what your about. My humble opinion is the MC world is just like the military in many ways, there is DISCIPLINE, RANK STRUCTURE, BROTHERHOOD AND DRAMA.
People need to realize this. In my humble opinion MC world is full of hard working respectful people that love to ride for the freedom it brings you, are judged by many for the poor choices made by some and the media.
Just as SOSE WITH ALL RESPECT HAS BEEN SAYING ALL WHO RIDE NEED TO UNITE AMD RESPECT ONE ANOTHER.

I found myself in a "situation" once upon a time. I was young and stupid and a sloppy drunk to boot. Luckily a very well respected member of the club that I was hanging with liked me enough to step in and save my ass. After saving my ass this particular member grabbed me into a headlock and repeatedly slapped me in my forehead as he emphasized how stupid I was warned me to NEVER do what I did EVER again... Looking back, I deserved every slap and then some! Lol

My sponsor and chapter boss gave me some shit to carry with me when we were on a run to Regionals. Of course I forgot it in the hotel room and didn’t realize it until we hit the interstate. A hundred miles later, we stopped and I told him. Yeah, I was busting my ass at high speed back to the hotel and then hammering trying to catch back up. There is more to the story that I won’t share here, but lesson learned!
