Dang, it like I'm hearing my own story starting at that age, especially living away from the beach early on. Awesome to know that tidbit of not taking the conditions for granted.

Started surfing in 1989, he's not 50 yet, but claimed to have started surfing at 15, he's definitely not a Math teacher 🤔 He's got a video in Surf'nShow with Noel Salas where Noel smokes this dude, but Noel is not a pro-surfer (he claims not to be but he f-king rips). and this dude claim to be a pro surfer, and talk about style and power which he lacks. Probably he was better at networking, and hanging around the right people in the 90s when surfing was mediocre, particularly in LATAM except Brazil...
Noel doesn't focus or talk about frontside bottom turn with elbowed level instead of just hand with water 💦. Noel might have edited that surfnshow to favor his ripping more haha,😅. Noel is still a master shredder/speaker regardless though.
