If there is ever to be a textbook example of "failing to success beyond your abilities through blind luck", Horikoshi is it. Can't believe his publisher waited until there were more than 400 chapters to axe this, lol. Axing it just before "Shiggy" got his ass-pull, deus ex machina power up would have save everyone a lot of trouble. Would have save Horikoshi the embarrassment of the ending he wrote. i think with how fucked up All Might and All for One's body looks you can infer that All Might basically grasped All for One's Skull and crushed it to an unrecognizable splatter intending to kill him while All Might's guts and intestines where hanging out hence their scared bodies that fight must have been brutal

if you can think up a Quirk, there is a SOLID chance that All for One has stolen it or another quirk that acts similarly. he has been around since Quirks first came about, and he has been stealing and mixing quirks the entire time. this guy is an ABSURDLY dangerous villain
Torino has seen 3 people hold OFA. He's seen many other things too. He's from a different time. He saw All Might rise to become the Symbol of Peace. And he saw what came before that warranted such a symbol needing to be forged. Can't go to space without a raging fire, amiright? UA just.... has entire acres or dense urban, industrial, and rural terrain set aside for training. To be broken and rebuilt repeatedly. The verticality definitely plays to Sero's advantage. As do all the pipes that provide leverage for him and obstacles for the rest. Deku's improved a lot, but he's still very much a work in progress. The problem with Mineta scenes is how it feels like the anime is trying to both judge him AND embrace the pandering fan service. We didn't need to see into their locker room. His pain can still be amusing though. Get him, Jiro! The current state of the My Hero setting has 80% of the population with some sort of random superpower, and these range from the useless or even inconvenient like some of Deku's former classmates to literally block busting like Todoroki. Society doesn't accept mass change easily. Especially not when there are people who find Clark's compassion to be less plausible than Superman's power. All for One was the first Titan among Supervillains. They may have been Supervillains before him, but his shadow obscured them in the world's memory. And many fell in line under him anyway. Think about how powerful someone with say... all of 1A's quirks save Deku's would be. All For One can be that strong and MUCH stronger. A Shogun of Shadow. A Don of Darkness. An Emperor of Evil. And he has been edited out of the history books. Of course... we know what happens to those who are ignorant of history. Don't worry too much about mixing up the very similar names. We do it all the time. All Might wasn't holding back either. He was going for a kill shot..... but All For One is still alive. And that was peak All Might. Death Flag or not, All Might at his strongest couldn't kill AFO. And All Might's power is fading. Interesting that Ashido is the first one talking about hero stuff. Even Iida is thinking food over work. All Might didn't kill All for One, but he got close, and left long term damage. Damage at least as severe as that wound AFO left All Might with. Deku was Quirkless and chosen to succeed All Might because of similar heart. So why not a hateful and self serving young man with a disintegration touch to succeed AFO? Also, the parallels. One of the reasons I love this show. And the idea of an enemy like All For One grooming a true successor.... it's chilling in how genre savvy it is. Evil so often loses because it is selfish and self serving. Villains will turn on each other 99 times out of 100, but Villains who are not only monsters, but loyal to each other? Those are scary.
so, we don't actually know how old the villain's master is. i've done some napkin math that puts him at around 150-180, but it's hard to be certain with how little info on the timeline we actually have.

When he transfers a quirk to another person, he gains a supernatural control over them. It's different from person to person, maybe quirk to quirk? But there is something more than just an ability that is given to people when AfO empowers them.
