The Story Behind the Brand Identity of 1874: The Aston Villa Channel.

In Spring 2023 broadcaster @danbardell set about launching a new outlet that reflected the proud heritage of Aston Villa Football Club. An authentic media offering that stood apart from the fan-led content he’d become synonymous with on The Villa View.
Dan worked with Creative Director and Brand Designer @leehaynes, following his previous successes with The Villa View, to develop a brand identity for the new channel that was confident, combative and proud.

With the recent news of the rebrand of @AVFCOfficial going to fan consultation again, It’s a fitting time to release the story behind the brand identity of @The1874Podcast.

So wish we could have your logo for our badge, class. Really dislike our current badge. Prefer the foward facing lion, signifying the club always progressing. Try selling it the club? If only as much thought had gone into the shirts.
