Been doing the install alone with an old 1985 Yanmar tractor with forks on the loader. Surprised me that this compact tractor lifted the whole unit off of the delivery truck. Didnt seem like 1800 lbs. This video was needed ! The instructions that came with the lift were not sufficient at all. Thanks for shooting this video.
We just unloaded ours off the trailer Friday night. We bought the taller version, but everything seemed to have come pre-assembled like you pointed out. Great video, we just picked ours up on Friday, started putting it together today. We cheated and used a small tractor to lift the parts off the trailer but still very confusing trying to use the "instructions" we were given. Loved the video, watched it after having assembled probably 90 percent or better of the lift. Your video clarified MANY things about the assembly that the "instructions" were lacking. And helped with the cable rub issue with the bolts! We are missing one part from the supplier for plumbing the power unit to the ram so we're down until it comes in but looking forward to getting it up and running. Also have added the lithium grease to my shopping list and will use your advice in getting the corners adjusted. Thank YOU for the awesome video!!!

I really appreciate this video. I bought 4 of these lifts for my BMW collection and have not been looking forward to putting them together. You are very right about the runway with the cylinder. It is SO heavy. A buddy and I lifted one off of my trailer and I hired a guy with a tractor after that. Thanks for this video!
Really appreciate you taking the time to do this. It’s a great lift, but it comes with probably the worst installation instructions I’ve ever seen. Super confusing and it also leaves many important details out. It’s just blind luck if you line up some of the major pieces correctly following them and you will end up with a ton of extra work undoing things. I’m not sure why they are so bad. That being said though the number to call on the instructions is great, the person at the end of the line does a great job and is very responsive. I’m sure there are a lot of calls (for anyone not watching this video) trying to install this thing without anything but the instructions that come with it. I assembled it by myself but used a forklift which is your best friend for this. Can’t imagine how you would even get it off the truck at delivery without one. Thanks again for the great video.

Excellent detail. I think I get that the instruction material really sucks 😔...you might consider writing your notes and selling the material to the low service vendors that market these lifts without a clue for us Do-it-yourselfers! Great stuff Sir

I wish I knew that the runner with the cylinder in it HAS to go on the same side as the pump....would have saved me some headache there. But great job, thanks again.

Nice lift! But I was wondering what size compressor you use on your plasma cutter. I just purchased the Amico but not pilot arc . That was a good video!
I did finally bolt it to the floor, not that you have to, but I did. Just took down the snowmobiles and put up the Mustang for the winter. All is good, with living in the midwest. The lift is still one of the best buys ever. Although I heard the price jumped $1k..yikes
Hey I enjoyed your video...I was wondering...how high are the corner post? Also putting the caps on the post how big are they do you need roof clearance and also. 110 volt about 19 amps and near 30 start up..on 110volts?...thanks for info...thinking of buying the classic or one just like yours...please advise..kevin
Kevin...the corner posts with the cap and nut/bolt with no thread showing it is 84 3/4". Just the corner post alone is 83 3/8". The cap does need room to be fitted on top. Overall cap height is 2". The top cap plate is 5/8" thick. It is a 110V 20 amp circuit, with 12 awg wire. It only draws 30 amps on startup and that is for a nanosecond, so the breaker will not trip. Hope that helps.

To answer your question, I did NOT have to bleed air out of my system, but if you do, all you have to do is raise your lift to the top and then let it go to the bottom a few times and your system will be air free. Hope that helps
Once I removed the shipping cage I backed the trailer into the stall I was going to put the lift and I slid each piece onto saw horses. I would recommend a few peeps to help
Can you share what extension cord you used? For us non electricians... I have the lift that is 110v so I need a 3 pronged plug. You said you got a 12 gauge wire ... can you give more details on that please. Thank you so very much.
You could just buy a 25' 12ga extension cord and cut the female plug off. Then match up the color codes as in the video. Use wire nuts if you are unsure to test and then crimp connectors and heat shrink.

Hey just a heads up, I believe the nuts on the cables are to be together on the top side of the plate, one is to be used as a jam nut. Most other lifts will use nylon lock nuts Instead of jam nuts. If you used locktight on them you're probably good, if not, keep an eye on them incase they loosen up.
I was wondering, the input hole on the back of the cylinder - I attached my compressed air to this (no more than say 30 psi) to extend the ram. My question is though, do you have to thread anything into this port when you fill the system with hydraulic fluid? Thanks.
I bought what i believe is an identical 4 post lift. i have it assembled but hesitant to put my vehicle on it, with no weight on the lift it is quite wobbly, i can grab any of the 4 uprights and with not much weight jiggle the lift around. Did you experience this as well? It's as if the 4 uprights are moving around.
Have you tried to bring the lift up a few feet, so the cables are tight? If you really think it feels wobbly, you could bolt it to the floor. Mine is rock solid, I put snowmobiles on it in the summer and a mustang on it in the winter and never felt it being unsafe.
@@zweare1Thanks for the reply. Yes, i've adjusted the cables within spec and have moved the lift to various heights and it's continuously wobbly as if the feet are not flat on the ground, quite easy to rock the hoist back and fourth.
Right now I have the Mustang on it and I just went outside and pushed on one of the posts about 3/4 way up. It moved maybe 1/2". Everyone has a different idea of wobble, so maybe this will help you to judge your wobble. One last thing are your pads flat on the concrete? Most concrete has a slight slope toward the garage doors, for water drainage, maybe your slope is more extreme? Lemme know if there is anything else I can help with
@@zweare1 appreciate the help, the feet do not appear to be flat. i suppose i'll have to buy a shim and anchor kit, unfortunate but necessary for my application i suppose.
You must have one large slope on your concrete. If you have a welder, you might just tack weld a metal shim on the gap of the pad. That way you can still move your lift easier if it weren't bolted down. I have moved mine a few times and I was glad it was not bolted down. Good luck
If you are asking if the cables are tight when the lift is at the bottom, I would say no, but if you want to make sure hold the handle down for an extra 20 seconds or so.
@@zweare1 Mine arrived missing so many parts. No help yet from the vendor. How many large nuts are on the cable tops? Mine must not be on the bottom even when I leave the lever down. I'll have to put a small car on there and play with the nuts on top to see if it will lower. I only have 1 nut on each b/c that's all the hardware store had
Those large metric nuts are hard to find. I know I used some of the nuts from the metal rack that my lift was shipped in. Two nuts on the top of mine just to keep them from twisting with the cables. If it is adjusted properly and you are resting on one of the stops, the cables should go slack.
Mine is solid, but I always have something on it. Mine would move a little each time I raised it up and down, so I drilled some holes in the concrete and slipped one size smaller bolts in the holes, so it just holds it in place. I only put one bolt in each post, so total of 4. Hope that helps
Did it improve with weight on it? Mine is just built and all four corners have a lot of movement, makes me a little nervous to try it with my car on it.
Probably not the smartest thing I have ever done, but no one was around to help. The sawhorses were the trick. I still suggest get a few buddies to help. Good luck
@@Dfour shoot, I put a BendPak 14,000 four post lift together solo. This one is the clichéd "child's play" by comparison. Now I did buy an engine hoist to aid me but I still did it alone.
Thank you for your triumph video. I appreciate seeing what you had to go through in installing it. I’ve watched several install videos and noticed something in yours that may require attention. It looks like you attached your cables to the cap with one nut on top and another on the bottom; which is something I would have done. But I saw in a manufacturer’s video they had both nuts on top using the second as a jam nut. Here is a link to that video where he describes his cable installation. Earlier in my video I mentioned using nylock nuts, maybe I did not explain myself well, sorry. I am guessing you were worried about them loosening up......
You should consider purchasing professional and better quality shirts. Yeah, I know, the shirts don't change the instructions. But the shirts you are wearing, look horrible.

I ran a dedicated 20amp Circuit for the lift. Haven't blow the breaker yet, even though it draws well or 20amps on start up. Enjoy your new lift.

If you are talking about the hole where you are filling air to extend the ram, no nothing threads into the port after your done extending the ram

I don't know what to tell you, mine moved 1/2" when I pushed on it as hard as I could and that is with my Mustang on the very top tab

Sir please share the pulley and cable details. Pulley diameter.and rope diameter. And pulley capacity
The cables are 3/8" and the pulleys are 3" . I did not design nor engineer the pulley, so I have no idea of the capacity

The nuts for the cables are installed incorrectly . They should be double stacked so they jam into each other .
Earlier in my video I mentioned using nylock nuts, maybe I did not explain myself well, sorry. I am guessing you were worried about them loosening up......
You should consider purchasing professional and better quality shirts. Yeah, I know, the shirts don't change the instructions. But the shirts you are wearing, look horrible.
Guess I will buy a few suits next time I put one of these together.........

Lol don't stress this guy.. He's just an internet troll... Just likes to get reactions out of people. The video was awesome and helped me get off the fence wondering if I should buy this. I was trying to figure out how straightforward the assembly would be on this unit and this cleared that up, so thank you very much, it's appreciated!
@@DarkTranqz Thanks and now that I have had the lift for some time it is proven to be a great lift. If you have a few friends to give you a hand with the heavy parts you will find the rest goes together pretty easily
