I just finished the hat. I used a 4 weight yarn but it's not a beret at all. Much more like a beanie. I think the yarn is on the thin side of 4 and I guess I have a tight tension? Would you recommend going up a hook size? The hat is still beautiful and works great as a beenie, but I would love to get a beret result.
Yes it’s not you it’s the pattern. I think you need to add more stitches so that it flares out more and then reduce. I’ll see if I can fix it. Thanks for watching 😊
I love the texture of this stitch! Not only did I make 2 hats but also matching fingerless gloves with it. Did you invent it? The first hat I made was like a Slouchy beanie, next time I increased the amount of fans in the first row and it's much more like a beret!
I loved this pattern and tutorial was easy to follow thank you for sharing. I made mine with Caron Simply Soft Party yarn in purple sparkle and it’s beautiful. Working a second in the same yarn but in black sparkle 💖
@@CrochetForBaby thank you for sharing it. I am not making the scarf since in am making them with skeins I had laying around that i didn’t know what to do with them since I only had 2 of each but that was enough for the hat and matching fingerless gloves i paired them with. ♥️
Please in this project, it seems that the brim of the beret keeps expanding. Please what I'm I doing wrong. It has increased from 42cm to 45cm. Thank you
Thank you for beautiful pattern and for sharing your talent. If I need to make the beret bigger size, what is rule count on the foundation chain please? Odd or even or multiples of what? Thank you so much! 🧶💐
This has to be my all time favorite hat and scarf set, can u make mittens , or gloves ? Or both, doesn't have to be this stitch obviously but would love some nice mittens
This is gorgeous! I am a little past beginner and would love to make this. Only thing for me is that I am not as advanced and I would love to see the more complex steps slowed down just a bit so that I can see them better. Other than that, Beautiful design 💛
This is truly lovely. Any suggestions about how to make it for a child about 3yrs old? I don't have access to any measurements, besides I want to make it a surprise. Thanks, Stella
This is working up lovely, thank you for this tutorial I will be making these in so many colors n sizes and sending them to Wisconsin to all my family😁💜💜💜

I don't know why, but my hat didn't really work out in the shape of a beret. Also, even though I did fewer rows for the brim it still is too loose. I used Impeccable yarn by Loops and Threads, which is a #4 worsted weight yarn. Is that different from #4 aran?
Hi, great video! I did the hat and I would like to make the scarf a little wider than yours. Can you please let me know the multiples the chain needs to be? Thank you so much!

Hi, I'm back to ask about the stitch you used in this pattern. I drafted my own pattern for fingerless gloves based on your fern stitch. Since I can't find this stitch anywhere else, I wanted to ask if you invented it yourself and if so, would it be alright for me to possibly publish a pattern for my gloves, using the stitch? It's just an idea for now but i thought I'd ask! 🌸
Hi! Yes go ahead and use it. I originally saw this stitch in an Arabic channel on a skirt a long time ago so it’s not mine. I didn’t know the name and couldn’t find anything either anywhere, I called it the fern stitch. Good luck 👍
Thank you. You can make the brim smaller but stay within the same multiples to make it any size. The average head circumference of 3 year old is between 42-45 centimeters.
So, I figured it out and I finished the hat. It’s lovely. I didn’t like the way the top looked so I added a Pom Pom. But I very pleased with a first try.
I started learning by seeing your videos.... here in India I won’t get yarns you mentioned in your video... If you could review on Nako brand which is available in India it will be helpful

The beret stitch is my favorite stitch ever for socks, leg warmers and such, absolutely stunning!
I tweaked the pattern for the hat and made it into a beanie with ears turned out so cute making the scarf now. Love it
Yes I saw it, it turned out awesome 👏
At first, I thought it might be way too far for me with this complicated pattern. Surprisingly I made it. Thank you for sharing this video.

I made this and it turned out great. I left the tassels off and made two extra scarf segments and added them as pockets.

should i go up a hook size if i plan on using dk? thanks for the great tutorial
Hmm I think you can use the same hook with DK. The only thing is that the stitch will be more open.

Can you tell me what the pattern stitch repeat number is? I am wanting to size this down to baby size.
Muy lindo tutorial amiga !! Besos
On the brim.. 70 doesn't go around my head. How would I go about altering it to fit.?
So beautiful! You are incredibly talented.
How could I make this smaller for a toddler size 3t?
Thank you. You can make the brim smaller but stay within the same multiples to make it any size. The average head circumference of 3 year old is between 42-45 centimeters.
My yarn requires a 2-4 hook, it is 100g, 240 meter , would two of these be enough ? Thanks
I used about 80 grams for the hat so I’d say yes it shout be enough.
I'm trying this.. Thank you Sara. I have reached about 80 CM.
Que bonita 😍😍😍😍
Very beautiful thank you so much for your tutorial I will make it for sure
Beautiful pattern. I’m having a hard time with the rows. Half way around I had 60+ what am I doing wrong?

Yes definitely I will. You can also use 2 strands of Nako to get the same yarn thickness as a #4 or Aran weight yarns 😉
I'm impressed 💕
i love this set! can this be made as a beanie? and cowl
Yes. Once you put it on, the hat is like a beanie at least I think so 😉 and yes you can make the scarf into a cowl instead.
I loved your tutorial. Do you have a written pattern for hat and scarf?
No not yet. Thanks for watching 😉
This beautiful!!!
