Thank you so very much! My hat turned out beautifully! I didn't turn the last rows under. I kept decreasing until it was snug, I love how it turned out! Nice gift!
This is, by far, my choice for a beginning crochet pattern. I have the written instructions, but your clear, concise directions, along with the pause and repeat buttons, are my guarantee for a well-made beret which gets tons of compliments. Bravo!!
I have wanted to make a beret for a long time. I've been poorly so far this winter and following this has really helped me through, thank you for this video!
Thank you so much Mikey, I really really enjoyed watching you create this gorgeous and stunning Brett. I really really love ❤️ it and I’m going to try this out. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
Mikey when u start row 7, u said chain up 1, but video chains up three. That said I am am loving this pattern so far. Making it with red heart comfort Inn Opal. So will have a sparkle to the hat!
Hi, round 6 is different to the written pattern. It ends with a total of 75 stitches and consequently 67 stitches at Round 13 whereas the written pattern has 90 stitches at the end of round 6 and 80 stitches at round 13. People might not realise this so I wanted to let you know.
Hi, amazingly explained. I am beginner, followed the pattern as you mentioned. But having trouble in the sizing. It's way smaller than the adult size. So my question is how to increase size of the hat please?
If you do a gauge check, you can determine before you start on what size hook to use. With any wearables like this, a gauge check is highly recommending. HEre's a video on what gauge is and how to adjust for the sizing. ruclips.net/video/smcfvVQ_rgg/видео.html You don't need to change the pattern, just the hook to match the gauge.
Thank you Mikey for this tutorial. I was looking for another video when I came across this one. I am so glad because the next video that I was going to search for was to make a crocheted Beret Hat. So thank you so much for this, it has been a great help and I hope to make this Beret soon.
Beginner crocheter here! Just a bit confused on how to check my gauge. In the pattern, it says rounds 1-3 should be approx 7.5cm. Does this refer to the radius or the diameter of rounds?
I used a size 6 hook to test it out as beginner. The holes in the crochet were far too big but ok as a 'test one' only with cheaper yarn.. I did a new one with size 5 and the holes were much nicer. I don't understand patterns. I have made a beret but it is a bit lumpy, but I think I can get away with it has the holes are small and my yarn is colourful and nice. The beginning was easy to do but I got lost in the middle, even with the pauses. I am going to watch the video again. Hopefully I will get in the end and it will click.
I love to follow your video instructions I have made the Beret and several other patterns that you have graciously shared, I am having and issue with another pattern call Spiral Afghan by Marilyn Losee for Caron Yarn is there anyway that you could maybe do a video on this crochet pattern, thank you for being a great teacher
You can always email Yarnspirations to request that. You should know, they work about 6 to 18 months on designs. So if they started a design today, you wouldn't see it until possibly next summer or well into 2024. They work that far ahead. There are 11 designers on staff. They have to design for all of the brands they cover plus the store designs you see on the shelves at the craft stores.
I have a question!!!!! I’m following the video and printed the pattern to get the counts for each row. Soon row 6 says 90DC but I get 75DC and I did it the way Mickey said to do it. 3 sets of 3DC corner 3DC ch 1 3DC. So how do I get 90 DC????? Please advise!!!!!!
I'm having the same problem. The written pattern says something completely different. It says 1 group of three, then expansion in next. As in every other 1 is an expanding stitch. That will get you 90. But I wonder if the pattern is actually written wrong and Mikey is right? It seems his version is how it should be. Its how you would grown any circular pattern correctly.
Round six is totally wrong. I would have noticed earlier but you did not give stitch totals for each round. Once I started decreasing I couldn’t get it to work. Confused I checked the pattern. So I had to frog back to round five. If you give stitch totals for each round you will keep us, and yourself, more accurate.
Hi! Im currently working on this beret now, but I was wondering can I use this pattern for an infinity matching scarf? Or do you have a video you can link for a scarf similar to this part
Some constructive feedback that I hope you will take in the spirit of improving viewer experience: I frogged the third row multiple times, trying to understand WHERE you were doing the stitches. Finally figured that row out and got to row four and chain and do the two double crochet but WHERE? In which hole? After slip-stitching I am over the grouping, not over a hole! I am at this point and I give up. I wish that you would get your fingers out of the way so we can see where you are doing things, hold the work up more often so we can see what you are doing and make sure we are in the same spot, point out where you are going with things that are new, and it would be awesome if you would put the pattern written out in the screen. It’s frustrating because I really wanted to make this project, but I can’t dedicate more time and frog this yarn out countless more times trying to understand what is going on. Thanks!
I’m sorry. I do have a mumbling problem with my mouth. You have access to the free pattern in the video description if you need clarity. I’m sorry about that.

Amazing tutorial. I am at the beginner stage, and after 1 or 2 starting fumbles, I made a beautiful royal blue beret! 😁😁😁🥰
Thank you so very much! My hat turned out beautifully! I didn't turn the last rows under. I kept decreasing until it was snug, I love how it turned out! Nice gift!
I'm super glad you retrofitted this for your own needs. That's what creativity is all about.

You are so welcome!
Good evening Mikey &Daniel (where ever you are). This looks easy for me. Thank you 🙏 much appreciated.
I love your work
Your my crocheting mentor
I love berets. I like the idea of using the stitch markers to make sure you get the brim straight after sewing. Thanks Mikey.
I love the tip about using elastic in the brim!
What an attractive beret. The blue is a beautiful color.
Ești un bărbat cu mâini de aur!
Te apreciez foarte mult, și te felicit pentru ceea ce faci!

Just finished 1 in white, 1st thing I've made myself something to wear.. well pleased

Omg amazed at how fast this worked up
I am wondering about the sizing. Was it plenty big enough for an adult?
Thanks so much for simple and clear teaching, Mr. I have watched and knitted one. So beautiful!. Thanks alot for the video, Mr.
You are very welcome

Ah Miley please don’t stop talking , I enjoy hearing your voice and u explain so well thanks
Easy to follow instructions. Thank you.
Really loved this pattern, it made such a pretty beret
They sell hairbands at the dollar stores that you can sew into the edge to make it more elastic.

🕎 Happy New Year! I pick you this year.Beret this time❤
Same to you!
Love this Beret tutorial💙💙💙💙💙💙 Thank you Mikey, take care stay safe💙💙
I've been looking for a beret pattern & this one fits the bill. I want to use a light yarn so when wearing it, my hair won't go flat. Thanks!
Thank you so much for this tutorial.

You're a good teacher, thanks! I'm just having difficulty with joining the band rows and where to insert to make the first stitch in the new row.
You should teach more. It is so clear . Good job.
Thank you, I will
Love this one, can’t wait to make one. Thanks Mike.
Nicely done I like it so much
Beginner crocheter here! Just a bit confused on how to check my gauge. In the pattern, it says rounds 1-3 should be approx 7.5cm. Does this refer to the radius or the diameter of rounds?
Thank you Mikey ...Love this pattern...what can you do to make it fit a 10 yr old??
love the 1st one
I have made 2 of these berets and both times I came up with a count of 75 dc instead of 90. The hat still turned out and is very cute, though
Strange why that would be happening.
i think I Have finally got it I am going to write my pattern in 'my own way' and I think I am going to use stitch markers so I don't get lost so much.
Great tip and I am glad you found a solution for your issues. Sometimes it's the only way.
Well, I tried but it came out too big. According to pattern, supposed to be 21 inch circumference. Used #4 yarn and 5.5 hook. Guess I start over.
It came out great, I love it, but was a bit snugly on my head, should I make another increase on it to fit a bit bigger?
Increase your hook if it's a bit tight.
The Crochet Crowd thx you. :3
Love this beret
Very nice
Thanks for sharing.
I would like to make this and then find a pattern for a scarf to go with it.

I just read your other comment so it appears you problem solved your issue.
Thank you, I couldn't understand well the written pattern.
Excellent tutorial
Thank you! Cheers!
Daca firul este mai subțire, cate rânduri trebuie sa lucram fara să creștem până la elastic?😊♥️
finished it I love it
I like this hat.
awesome.
Thank you very much
Our pleasure.
Can I use a 5.0mm hook? Also my work started to ruffle. Took it apart going to start over
What size this beret is. I am looking for adult size 23" to 24" circumference
I’ll look at pattern tomorrow. It’s 10 pm and I’m getting ready fir bed. If it’s not on the pattern I won’t know.
I made this last night it was really tight and small it is a child's version
What was your gauge check?
Thank you so

Is this on Yarnspirations.com > I can take a look there. if it's not there, I'm not allowed to consider it or film it.
No unfortunately just thought I would ask maybe yarnspitation could do there own version

I made mine pink
Espectacular ..
Excellent.
I have a question!!!!!

@@TheMandyM thanks for the reply
I followed Mikey and had count of 75 and did the rest like Mikey said and it turned out great I think
Is this hat a warm hat? Bc where I live, it’s gets mighty cold here? Just asking
What is the stitch count before sewing for the band
Will it make a big difference of i use w 5.0 mm size crochet hook? Or even if i use a size 6.0 mm?
Yes it will. Be sure to gauge it if you are switching. Gauge is listed on pattern.
@@TheCrochetCrowd Ok thank you so much!
About how many grams yarn can I expect to need?
My hat turned out a lot smaller than the one in the video. I used a 5.5 hook and I followed the video exactly
What was your gauge check. Sounds like you may have crocheted this tighter.
@@TheCrochetCrowd It was just like the video
After round 6 i decided to do another increase so I'm doing four 3DC then the 3DC together
Nice pattern. I have a question. Do I crochet the elastic at the end? Thanks
Yes insert the elastic before folding over the brim.
I did it, but it doesn't fit my head😅😭
Hi! Im currently working on this beret now, but I was wondering can I use this pattern for an infinity matching scarf? Or do you have a video you can link for a scarf similar to this part

I don't understand what 'Row 4 is 'getting bigger without expansion'
I’m sorry. I don’t understand your question.
Hi can I use Lion Brand Heartland yarn for this beret, it is a medium 4 yarn?
Just do a gauge check before you fully commit. The gauge is on the pattern if you need it. It's the only way tot really know.
@@TheCrochetCrowd thank you I will try it.
I couldn't understand Row 12, it was mumbly and too fast.
I’m sorry. I do have a mumbling problem with my mouth. You have access to the free pattern in the video description if you need clarity. I’m sorry about that.
