Yeh the group bullying thing in Asia is so weird. In the usa the bullies have been seen as idiots...while it is cool to be the bully in Asia. It is rly bad because the leaders of the bully groups are the "rich kids/powerful kids", and the followers parents literally bow down to the bullies parents... it is so werid from a western view
@Richard Casterly but that isnt possible in Asia. If you fight back and defend yourself from the rich/powerful bullies...then they ruin your life AND YOUR PARENTS lives... I've heard of cases of parents losing jobs. Of their older sisters getting assaulted...and the cops side with the rich bullies...idk how it is in Japan.. but China is pure Bowing down to the rich bullies..and Korea is slightly similar. It honestly seems like hell on earth. In the usa rich people have to maintain a reputation or people will hate them. While in China they are similar to the "nobles" during the dynasty era...while regular people and workers like waitresses are seen like slaves. "That waitress should feel honored that my rich and powerful self wanted to sleep with her." That kind of mindset is super prominent
I know your pain. I was bullied relentlessly at school for my sexuality, I went from being a funny person to being so quiet. It took me over 7 years to be able to trust people again
and then the toxic mainstream schooling will insert themselves to these spaces and turn them to the same toxic school that the mainstream schooling once before.
yes it was BUT being bullied myself sometimes there are things that you can change like your body posture, looking people in the eyes. but yes you are right its wrong
It happens everywhere. It's easier to blame the victim than it is to confront the bully. Unfortunately, if someone decides to bully you, there's nothing you can do, no changes you can make to keep them from going after you because *they* are the bully and they control their behavior. You cannot ethically control another's behavior. So many people in authority positions get it wrong, and often it feels like laziness. And the rumor that fighting the bully will stop it is just...it's just putting the responsibility on the victim. Fighting the bully just means they'll bring more people next time, and perhaps the victim will be in trouble for standing up for themselves. In a situation with children, only adult intervention can truly put a stop to it, but that takes a lot of effort, so most teachers, administrators, etc don't bother.
Well for a counsellor to say that I think must of been a bully in his r her day just look at the bully and say if this makes you happy here I am I don't hate you for what you have done to me I pity you for the issues you have in your own life 😉 whatcha the bully's reaction then walk away

It's the illuminati. They brainwashed people into working hard and then as the central banks print new money into existence this devalues the old money and the businesses (in order to profit) are forced to raise the cost in goods and services which then means workers must ask bosses for a raise just to keep thier head above water. But sometimes bosses do not give the raise so the wife and kids must make do with a lower standard of living. Unfortunately women do not handle that well so they prefer to seek out welfare instead and this causes the nation to go further into debt and hope future generations will foot the bill. Unfortunately since nobody is breeding and having kids (thanks feminist who kill babies in abortion clinics) you introduce the problem of aging population and no new young people to replace them. Who is going to pay the bill??????? So we tinfoilers are right to criticise the keynesian economic system. Until you get a Ron Paul type leader into power (which allows for a sound money system) you will NOT see an improvement in the situation. Japan is said to be "the canary in the coal mine" to us in the MGTOW community. As a GenX kid I can see the problem of boomer generation but they were lied to as well and so it's important to look for innovators like Robert Kiyosaki and others for guidance for young people today who do not want to work the 9-5 grind but are willing to work SMARTER not harder. IE by looking for ways to make money work for YOU. The smartest guys know the system is F'ed up but it's hard to get the average joe to listen because they are like brainwashed lemmings similar to feminist collectivists who believe we OWE them jobs rather than them having to earn it through merit.
Japanese society seems too judgemental, unforgiving, restrictive and dark sometimes...We have let a lot of gentle, eccentric beautiful souls down.I am very sad about it.
@Jonny B The example you gave was when our Government was restricted by the amount of Gold and Silver in the Treasury. Now they print paper “money” out the ass. It’s lazy to compare then and now. We are living in the now, where I am taxed multiple thousands of dollars each year right out of college. There is no excuse.
It's a bit of everything, it's the spirit of modernity: godlessness, the love of money, rampant corruption on all levels of society (especially the upper layer), cynicism instead of idealism, hyperindividualism, silencing/oppressing dissidents, medicating outsiders instead of seeing them as the canaries in the coalmine, feminism making the rich richer but the common people poorer while cutting them off from their children (families can't survive on one salary anymore - at the same time women demand more of a potential partner than ever before in history... being average isn't good enough for men anymore), the lack of jobs and having zero chance of ever becoming a home owner or a parent - the political focus on things like 58 genders, making people ever crazier, while ignoring actual socio-economic issues - the destruction of community/culture/tradition through mass migration, consumerism & popculture (which can only appeal to rootless, migrating people but is really disgusting, hollow and forgettable - think Marvel movies or samey rap videos on MTV, and yet that crap replaces actual art and culture) and the alienation and anxiety which comes with each and every of these developments... what's the purpose of living these meaningless lives we lead as worker ants without ties to other people? There's none. And now with the Coronavirus lockdown, the international elite is inching closer towards its goal of establishing only two classes: a class which owns everything, the self-appointed rulers of the planet, and an underclass which owns nothing. They find excuses to force that setup upon us too. In the West live in the most evil system of all times: the liberal (world) order. Earth is an open air prison these days, it's up to us to overthrow our parasitical ruling elites and return to normalcy and old school values. Perhaps there will one day come a time when all these vile elites which have governed us for a long time now will be gone - as well as the invisible rulers, the real bosses of the world order, like bankers - but it's up to us to do it, no matter how, no matter the cost. Right, even before coronavirus this has been happening everywhere. The man in the video has been like this for decades. I believe it's a result of the advent of the internet (not that I hate the internet).
Yes it`s true - but in Japan the problem is much more severe. I think it may be related to Japanese "face culture". In Japan your position in society is determined strictly by your accomplishments, if you do not live to expectations then you are losing face and people look down on you(and your family). So young(or not so young) people are choosing to withdraw from society that is disrespecting them and their families are accepting it - because they can pretend that problem does not exist. In western culture we are more individualistic and focused on living a comfortable life, prestige is of course important but it`s not crucial, for European most important thing is feeling good about yourself, not what other people think(Asian people pretty often consider European self-confidence unjustified and silly).
I think Adults know but they've been accustomed to it or isn't really doing anything about it since as people said you will be considered an outcast which if you can't do anything about it it's better to just stick in with the flawed standards of society in order to live normally.

Umm no. Society are the people themselves. Everyone is the perpetrator and it is stupid to blame it on others. We have the option to leave our current situation and go out into the mountains yet we don't really do what we say. Because in the end, we are not really that strong, we're still dependent and bounded by social norms. That's why we must focus on our individuality and our spiritual growth first, to carry on.
The first guy interviewed broke my heart. Nobody should be bullied or feel left out...shunned from his own society. No wonder he isolates. It's better than getting hurt again.
Lots of people isolate for lots of reasons. Not just bullying. Bullied kids end up okay too and sometimes even thrive due to it, just the same way as some kids end up isolating due to what they did, such as bullying. There's a lot of different kinds of people and at the end of the day most of us will be forgotten long before we die.

@Perpetual Unknown For many kids, fighting back will worsen the bullying tenfold. How do you expect one kid to fight against a much stronger, skilled and older fighter alongside his group of friends? The problem is not just the society wanting money and more money. The problem is the overall Japanese culture and mentality. Money may be a significant incentive too, but it is not the primary one. Japan still functions based on some emulation of the bushido code, but no longer applied in a military setting, but in business and everyday life. Just as in the past, before World War 2, you were expected to learn, train and fight in wars to bring glory, honor and respect to your family, your community and the country, now you are required to learn, train, advance and fight in everyday life to bring honor, respect and a higher status for your family, community and country. It is this mentality that has to go away. The Confucian idea that one should give up any form of individualism in order to promote a collective cause is at the root of all bad things that are now happening in China, South Korea and Japan in particular. I am not saying you should not care for your family, for your community and for your country. On the contrary. But these should never take precedence over the individual. Because if the individual will have a hard life, full of suffering, the family will share this burden, the community will too and eventually, the whole country will. As we can see here. These reclusive individuals had their lives destroyed by their family, community and country, and in turn they are not destroying the family, community and country. A common domino effect. Japan is addressing this problem now as soon enough, the first generation of reclusive people will be reaching their 60s, their parents will die off and they will have no other choice than to go for social welfare. And we speak of a country that already spends quite a lot of money on social welfare, particularly related to elderly healthcare. Kids need to be kids. Throwing them from such an early age into a spiral of ruthless competition, putting pressure on them to be the best and shaming them for failure leads to these results. Even when they grow older and go to middle and high school, they should still be given the opportunity to enjoy life, not spend all their youth buried in books, constantly learning and attending classes just to get to a top university with unrealistically high demands. By the time they complete their education, they become tired individuals. And when they see that obtaining a job is also difficult, they snap. Because you come to realize something and ask yourself, 'what was all that effort for?' Some kids may be able to put up with this kind of pressure. But some won't. We have to accept that not all kids can succeed. Some are bound to win, some are bound to lose. This is life. And those who lose should not be shamed, but instead be encouraged, supported so they can find meaning for their lives.
@Warner Bros I don't think it was the job of the Americans to reshape the entire cultural narrative of Japan. That was the job of the Japanese themselves and it should be. The Americans did more than enough for them by allowing them to develop economically to the great power that it somewhat still is today. Japanese have expressed before and after World War 2 willingness to adopt Western customs, but on their own will and under their own conditions. The Japanese should do like any other civilization did in order to advance (and they've done this before too). Cut off liabilities and adopt the methods that were successful for others. Just to give you an example, Scotland. Before the 18th century, the Scottish were among the most poor and backward people in Europe. After they united with England at the beginning of the 18th century, they adopted so many customs from the English, they almost gave up their own language. But as a result, by the turn of the 18th century and the 19th century, they produced an intellectual elite that had an important say in the political, economical, philosophical and cultural life of not only Britain, but in their overseas territories too and eventually, the entire world. Adam Smith was Scottish. David Hume was Scottish. Robert Burns, John Playfair or James Hutton were also Scottish. The Scottish Enlightenment was a product of adopting successful customs from the English, who by the 18th century was already shaping up to be at the forefront of the European civilization. Same as the Italian Renaissance benefited a lot from Greek scholars from the Byzantine Empire.

The bother's question is not quite as weird as it first seems, if you understand Japanese culture. Traditionally Japanese people would be prepared to kill family members who had brought dishonor upon the entire family. The same thing happens in Indian and Islamic cultures. It's really just western society that can't relate to this issue at all because Westerners don't have the same sense of personal/family honor that other cultures and societies do. That's both a good and a bad thing. It means, for example, that many Westerners don't care when their son/daughter/brother/sister goes off track and becomes a criminal or drug addict. They just leave them to their own fate.

I felt A LOT like this during high school, being ostracized by the "popular" crowd because I didn't fit in. Eventually, after going through so much pain, I just stopped caring about what people thought of me. It hurt so much to care and be stressed, but it felt good to be me. I learned at lot about myself just being by myself, and I think that matters the most. Being true to yourself, not what others "think" you should be.
I tried my best to stop people around me from being bullied. Bullies are such bytches and all they want to do is seem tough to others, they dont want any sort of physical issues. Alot of my close friends coming up prolly would have been bullies if it wasnt for me. I pray to god my kids never get bullied.. kids scare me
The best way to get out of that is make some friends. And choose your friends wisely not someone who just wants to take advantage of you by always aksing you for a treat or something. I use be pretty much alone before mostly but slowly when I made one good friend others joined in automatically cuz they were his friends and then before you know it you are one of them.
Kids in highschool are idiots. They're brains aren't yet developed, and they have 0 life experience. Try to find people who align with your morals, values and interests. It's okay to be on your own for a season in life, even if you think you don't need anyone, eventually that human contact means more than you think.
This was also me when I was in high school. From freshman year to senior year it was all a downhill slope but as I descended down that slope, at the very bottom I came at the same conclusion as you where I just stopped caring about what those other people think. I’ve lost a chunk of friends that were with me at the start of the year but that also showed me the friends that were still with me till the end. The friends I lost were so hypnotized into wanting to become like the popular crowd so I ditched them for my own well being and that they weren’t themselves anymore. My high school experience may as well be shit but if there’s one more thing I can say about it, it’s that it wasn’t a waste. Because it taught me to appreciate having a few close friends, and how to live life in terms of how you want to live it rather than how others want you to live it.
I'm comfortable with being alone and I enjoy being me. The problems happen when it feels like maintaining my own sense of self-dignity and keeping food on the table are mutually exclusive. Or when doing things by my own natural rhythm which allows me to stay sane and healthy conflicts with the ever-increasing pace of the modern world that doesn't care about me at all. I don't really have any marketable or survival skills and nothing to fall back on- not even the luxury of time to learn new things.

I spend a lot of time in isolation 20+ years in my case but I do try to run a business when I'm not living in an enforced covid19 lockdown imposed by the United Kingdom government. Times are very difficult now economically and in this country (I can't speak for anywhere else because I don't know what the situation is really like everywhere else) but here in the UK the country has been decimated in the last 9 months. There is no culture left, there is no society as such not what we would consider 'normal', the economy is in tatters and everywhere you look business and shops are closing and unemployment is sky rocketing. If anything I thing social exclusion and social isolation is only going to get a lot worse in this country as a result of all of these coronavirus measures and the global financial reset.
Same. I really relate to the last part where the smashed door was presented. I had so many resentment and frustration with myself and the people around me that I usually lock myself to my room and work then sleep. sometimes I cry every night. This pandemic hit us hard financially and with my past mistakes that I cant let go of.. I blame myself. I felt I was left behind in life. But thanks to some who believed in me that I keep fighting on and listening to podcast really helps. I pray we all hold on.
I'm working and all, but living with an inborn condition (Asperger's) at a workplace wasn't always easy. Oddly being forced to deal with emotions in an office environment in an analytical way by simply copying the most successful ways of reacting and default to helping out got me to the point where I have an actual career path ahead of me. It took me about 5 years to learn that skill and those years were harsh, but I'm better off than many who never had to learn those lessons on how to interact with people. Basics are: if you have time, help out colleagues who have a lot of work at the moment; always stay calm and listen; always smile at everyone
Successful people in life and relationships also suffer from depression, and ultimately commit suicide too. The notion of love being able to magically cure everything is flawed at best. There needs to be professional help from a psychiatrist and the consumption of antidepressants + a whole lot of other bullshit for a mere chance at recovery. Living sucks.
Typical, not only Japan but most other societies in the world (except the Blue Zones and Denmark). At school, you have to be sporty, witty --- and most vital of all --- *COOL.* If you are "weird", a "nerd" or an "outsider", you get bullied at worse, shunned and ostracized by cliques at best. Then as an adult, you *MUST* have a successful career or business, drive a luxury car/SUV, live in a suburban home, be happily married with two kids; in other words, "keep up with the Joneses" (i.e. wasting money you don't have [or better yet, going into debt], on things you don't need, so that jerks don't gossip about you). And still be COOL and witty. Only then will people respect and admire you and be your friend. If not, you are looked-down upon as a loser, a failure, a nobody, and no one will marry you or be your friend (except beggars, perverts and missionaries). Forget the "real world". Just live in cyberspace, including remote work, befriend cats and dogs, and go for walks in nature.

Well that was stupid
yes it was BUT being bullied myself sometimes there are things that you can change like your body posture, looking people in the eyes. but yes you are right its wrong

Modern society has entirely let down some generations. The cost of living in the developed world is ridiculous.

We are living in the now, where I am taxed multiple thousands of dollars each year right out of college. There is no excuse.
@@FreyaEinde What on earth does capitalism have to do with this? That makes no sense whatsoever.

Because you come to realize something and ask yourself, 'what was all that effort for?'
Some kids may be able to put up with this kind of pressure.

I feel like what that kid was talking about, being burned out n only wanting to fish n stuff hit home the most. Wholesome af
Im glad I wasnt born in Japan, it seems like its a terrible, unnatural life where you just work and grovel until death.

I was so naive to think that Japan ppl who seem kind and polite in the eyes of the world will make me love japan more after arriving here. But no, it is the opposite. Those times I got abused mentally made me hated all Japanese (yeah I became racist). Japan is cool for traveling, but not for living.
After I got to japan, I realized that South asia ppl (Indonesian, thailand, malay, singapore, etc) are so warm. For me staying home wasn't an option either I was abused at home. School was my escape n I was abused there too. My only escape ended up being my work.

They don't realise you have seen shit that would them in therapy for years already at a young age. Or that you are already getting the tough you up abuse from everyone around you. Lack of love and attention from the family,They have many problems that they cannot tell to other people thats why.
I have parents that love me but my nature is introversion and to stay in my room. I realized that I needed to do something constructive with my life so I got a job and now making progress. I have a friend that I see from time to time. He has depression and he has parents who love him but he stays in his room. Love is not the cure, the cure is to fight. The world is competitive and harsh. Unfortunately, It is the survival of the fittest.
Also there is still a lot of shame around the subject of mental health in Asian cultures. It's not that parents don't love their children, but more like they can't communicate openly and don't want to talk about "taboo" subjects.
I've no doubt there's a lot of this going on here in the US. But no one will talk about it.😐
Yes doc
@Total Sweetheart No argument there.😐
This brings back memories. The children would circle around me and push, kick, spit, call me foreigner, and everything else. The teachers would either watch or feign ignorance. It's so sad that nothing seems to have changed since the 90s...it's heart breaking.

Dude if I lived in Japan with the work life they have there I would stay at home too.
idk why but this video made me tear up like im not a hikikomori and i don't have trouble doing certain things but this video was relatable in a way that there were times where i felt really isolated and that im weird for trying to be different and going on my own path , i think the only reason why i was able to stay strong this whole time was mostly due to a voice at the back of my mind that i can't give up because im destined to do great things and it's just a matter of a strong mindset....im not at my ideal life yet but im sure i can do it one day (i want to end this off by saying thank you to everyone in this video that shared their story, you guys are very brave for sharing it and i aspire to be someone as confident, talking about my own insecurities one day and hopefully help other people that they're not alone and we will all go through this together)
Another beautiful heartfelt comment. Yours views touched a nerve with me so thank you, I appreciate what you just said. Same here.
I even think about ending everything but I know deep down that it would only be wasting the life I have been given.

Basics are: if you have time, help out colleagues who have a lot of work at the moment; always stay calm and listen; always smile at everyone
if this was an anime a girl would have appeared in their life out of nowhere, but this is reality.

@@fin-de-trayectoe.d305 TRUTH
