this is the movie that's gonna sweep all the awards from editing to cinematography to best director. It's the moment when Spielberg made Schindler's list, when Scorsese made The Departed, 2024 Oscars is Nolan's
i could watch christopher nolan talk about movies and film making all day long, this man is a genius and an extremely intelligent individual i cant wait to see what he does next he's hands down my favourite director,, PS i love the way he dresses he looks cool as f**k
When Einstein is telling Oppenheimer what will happen to him next as he narrates how they will award him a medal, is also a similar scene in interstellar when Old Murph is telling Cooper what he's going to do next as he narrates how he will meet Brand. There's also a similar scene in Inception, an old man narrating to the protagonist.
A genius of the people. Who else makes movies that are arthouse blockbusters? Films you can enjoy seeing even without understanding everything about them (Inception, Interstellar) and yet get into analyzing their meaning and subtext. The first time I saw Oppenheimer I thought the last hour was not as good as the first two. After seeing it the second time I could understand the character developement during the last hour and how Nolan plays with time. The first two hours are about how the bomb was created and the last hour deals with the personal consequences that Oppenheimer faced- especially how conflicted he was.
Marie and I just love how Perri is able to make the person she is interviewing...actually dig and think of an answer (for the uniqueness of her questions). We'll all seen the planned answers, but it is cool to see the person interviewed, pause and say, "good question", then think of answer that is meaningful to them...and in turn, meaningful to us. I thank Perri for providing that space for Christopher Nolan to do that. The only regret, is that the interview was TOO short. Would love to see more long form interviews with Perri (other than he wonderful show, Ladies Night...which we watch religiously).
Chris Nolan really did out do himself with Oppenheimer and i really think it’s his best film. Besides Killers of the flower moon it’s the best film of the year.
This is just my opinion so don’t come at me but I consider this guy an all time great at this point. Up there with directors like Welles, Leone, Kubrick, Tarkovsky, Coppola, Scott, malick, and tarentino. Between the dark knight, inception, interstellar, dunkirk, and Oppenheimer, which are all landmark films in their respective genres, he’s earned that kind of recognition
That wouldn't have worked. The whole point of the film is that it is told from Oppenheimer's perspective. He wasn't in Japan and he didn't see the bombs being dropped, therefore we don't.
@@DollyRanch Waste of time movie. If this movie only about oppenheimer then why nolan don't shoot Oppenheimer childhood. Not relevant i guess. Only soundtracks are great. Oppenheimer is known as father of the atomic bomb. The most peak scene in the movie the bomb blast which happens in nightime. Not brave enough to shot in daylight. And the bomb test after effects are shit. We don't see blast effect, no Thermal effect, no Iconic mushroom cloud which is everybody want to see in Nolan film. People who see nolan previous work like Interstellar blackhole or inception expect this from his film.
It's a privilege to hear Nolan speak about anything
Lmao

Nolan deserves The Oscar For Directing For Oppenheimer. Truly a long overdue award for Nolan and a deserving one.
He deserves every award

Nolan needs to do audiobooks with that beautiful voice
Hollywood at large could learn so much from this interview alone. This is why we love Nolan.

She is really good at teasing out interesting observations. Talented.
I'm pretty sure even Nolan's haircut has a high IQ level.
She's a great interviewer of a great subject.
Nolan treat blockbuster movies like an indie project: full controlled. That's why he is one of the best filmmaker today.
Thank you Nolan for this amazing movie
Never would've pegged Christopher Nolan as a rom-com fan. His silent movie era answer was more what I was expecting.
Amazing
Oppenheimer needs to win best picture this year.
Yep and I think Spiderverse should atleast get nominated

Killers of the flower moon was great, but Oppenheimer takes the cake for me this year.

@@troybracy2915 Each to their own. We're all eating good this year that's for sure.

Watched it a 3rd time yesterday. 😊
I wonder if he watched killers of the flower moon.
Love this guy
Nolan is the best director since Kubrick, no one comes close to Nolan. Tarantino is a distant second.
Scorsese is up there
PT Anderson?
Jeez, at least ask the man how he's doing first.
Should have shown the atomic bomb explode when it landed and the dramatic consequences of it, which would have been something.
That wouldn't have worked. The whole point of the film is that it is told from Oppenheimer's perspective. He wasn't in Japan and he didn't see the bombs being dropped, therefore we don't.
But the story is told from oppenheimers vantage point. That would have made zero sense
You basically just admitted you didnt understand the movie.
thats the strangest hairline i have ever seen in my life
For me this movie just a waste of time. Only talk and talk. This movie could easily wrap up when Trinity test complete.
It's called Oppenheimer... not "the invention of the a-bomb"
@@DollyRanch this movie could be more interesting if he's focus on how to make people talking more interesting. This movie sucks
