    That's a gorgeous ken smith! Is that the one made in Japan, the burner? The Bridge pickup looks super close to the bridge unlike other Ken Smith Burners. And I didnt know Japan made ones (if it is) was made in the BSR style! haha. Can u share some history on that bass?

      Hey, thank you! I dont have too much of a back story to this. But it is labeled #1. But as far as I know, back in the ninties, the build burner BSR Shapes. Evan Marien's Burner is a famous example of it and I think John Smith (Son of Ken) did some Videos of BSR Burners. Since its hard to find details of the 90's Burners, it's hard to find details on the Burners. :-)
      But, as this is a younger one (2021) I has different pickups with exposed Poles ( I hide them with duck tape) and an american Smith Bridge. Still evertime I play it, I am amazed by its sound on each pickup as well as the preamp.

    Very cool. I will subscribe. Could you please do a comparison of a ash/maple vs. walnut/ebony, I think that would be awesome. Good luck with the channel!

    Can you explain what you mean by melodic minor 1 over F-7, melodic minor 4 over Db7 and so on. What do you mean by the numbers?

    • @SaschaOnBass
      @SaschaOnBass  10 месяцев назад

      Sure man! The numbers mean the degrees of melodic minor. That is melodic minor 1st degree over F-7 (that would be a F-maj7 Chord), melodic minor 4th degree over Db7 (that would be a Db7#11 Chord). On the D-7, you can think from the Dominant of this chord, which is an A. So, if you fill in the A7 on the D-7, you can also do a A7 alt. That way, you have the sound of melodic minor since A7 alt. is the 7th degree of Bb melodic minor.
      Get familiar with the 7 degrees of melodic minor and you will understand. Learning these 3 degrees of melodic minor: the 1st (X-maj7), the 4th (X7#11) and the 7th (X7 alt.), you can manage to lay the melodic minor sound on most of all standards.

      Hey Mattias,
      In my new Video I go deeper into the Melodic Minor Degrees and explain it thoroughly:
