One of the Very Best lessons on youtube.Thank you soooo much !!
Thats very kind! Thank you! The next Hadrien Feraud Tutorial will be released in just a few days... 😊
This is a great video! It’s making me think of the melodic minor in different ways. Thank you!
That's great Wayne! Thank you too! 😊
Thanks for the breakdown Sasha .. keep up the great work
Thank you too! You're very welcome. 😊✌️
This is truly outstanding instruction and content. Thank you ❤
You are very welcome! 😊👍️
Fantastic Sasha ! I like your take on this; clear and concise, and practical. There definitely is something to the melodic minor and all of its degrees, and I think that it's related to the hybrid character of both the half-whole dim scale and the whole tone scale. To me the fun starts when the sound is somewhat familiarized and you can start playing around with phrasing etc.
Thank you ! And that tone is great man !
Hey Bro! Thank you so much! I totally agree! When it all melts together while PLAYING (not PRACTICING), this is where the magic happens! And yeah, I like that tone of the #humanbase too! 😊And, I'd love to see and hear more of your playing on RUclips! You are such a great player man! 💚
hell yeah dude, keep them coming!
Thanks Mate! 😊 I will! 😉
Great content, as always ! Thank you !
Thank you too Paul! 😊

Thank you Christian! ☺️
You are indeed extraordinary bassist, thanks for this content, i needed this becouse guitarist from my band is also mastering melodic minor scale. Subbed!
Thank you for your kind words! I'm glad you found the content helpful! :-)
Wow! Thanks for homework task :) Great content!
Your very welcome! 😊
great content man!
Thank you Man!
Thank you so much for all that advice I know what to work for some months 😁😁😁
You are very welcome! Let me know how you progress. 😊
@@SaschaOnBass yheah sur I let you know ☺️☺️☺️☺️
this is the real deal, how to use melodic minor, thank you so much
Thank you too Marcello! 😊
My favorite MM modes👍🏼
Thanks Man!
Great stuff - Can you do a video covering the types of scales he uses over major chords without any dominants?
Hey Gary, thank you! Probably in the future. 😊
Great lesson brother sounds fantastic. I look at Melodic Minor slightly different to you based on John Stowell’s and Matt Garrison’s approach. Which gives a similar sound but the starting points and the vibe of the sound is more major sounding.
Thank you Laurence! 😊Thats cool! Yeah, this Video trys to take one small point of view out of dozens. Still so much more to talk about concerning Melodic Minor. Like your point of view too. 😊
Hi Sascha! good to see you here! Subcribed!
Its my pleasure to meet you, Raoul! 😊✌️
very interesting
Very!
Wow! Great content Sascha but a bit above my head. I really need to take a few steps back. How would you suggest I start this melodic minor journey. Thank you brother!
Hey Brother! Thank you. Let me say: Progression through reduction. I am giving lots of examples in this video. Pick out one as a start to focus on and expand, with low Tempo. My personal Tip: Take the 2 - 5 - 1 focusing on the 5 (V alt 7). since there are a lot 2 - 5- 1 out there. Maybe my new Gwizdala Video can help you with that. Have fun on your journey. :-)
great lesson!
would also be useful to have the 3 different degrees on a graph/tab (with the root in different colour) to help us visualise them on the fretboard.
cheers!
edit: also the ⚡Who is the Sea Shepherd ? Watch this: link doesnt work!
Thank you so much! I will replace the link on the Weekend!
And I will improve Grapnics along the way! 😊
Hadrien shreds so fast, hard to tell what scale he is using lol😅
Yes, he shreds fast, its very hard. And, we have the playback speed knob nobody had 20 years earlier. 😊😉
Nice
Thanks!
How often do you like playing the melodic minor arpeggios when soloing?
Oh Man... Im still exploring it. I like the sound of altered in general. Right now I use it often trying to incorporate it. But there will come something else then... So much sounds there are. Ten Liefetimes to explore...

What's the book (degrees explained) title?
"Jazz HArmony - Think, Listen, Play A Practical Approach" by Frank Sikora
Please show me how melodic minor Scale use in jazz Standard i think
All the things you are
Hey my friend. With this video I already showed you. You can apply these scales and methods 'easy' on ',All the things' since it is full of 2-5-1's, tonics and dominants.
Start with deciding for one scale like for example MM1 over every 2-5-1. Use the parallel minors. These are in the following order:
Fm, Am, Cm, Em, Em, Fm
@@SaschaOnBass
Fm7,Bbm7,Eb7,Abmaj7 this is a first 4 bar in All the things
I use Fm7=MM1 or MM7 Bbm7=MM1 or MM7
Eb7=Eb Mixolydian 11# or Bbm melodic MM1 or Eb alt MM7 Abmaj7=Ab ion ?
Hey man, think this could work.😉 @@sallayjeno2994
@@SaschaOnBass thank you very much, helped a lot with this video 😊
You're welcome. 😊

Hadrian is a master Blitherer.
I don't give a crap how many notes he can play, or how good he thinks those notes are!
🤭 yeah, whatever.
Great lesson Sascha, do you have the breakdown as a PDF?
Thank you! I just added the PDFs to the Description. 🤘🏻
@@SaschaOnBass awesome, love your lessons, do more of Hadrien, thank you!
Thank you! I will! 😊
Hi Sasha, it didn't let me open the PDF's it says I need permission :(
Peter please excuse me. I made a mistake sharing the links. Would you try again please. I think it should work now.@@PV155
💚
so if you call MM1, MM2 etc to the modes of the melodic minor I guess you call ''Mayor scale 2'' to the dorian mode and ''mayor scale 3'' for the phrigian.... Also, some modes of the melodic minor are not minor..so why would someone call mm1, mm2, mm3 to different modes.. ?.
Hi Esteban, it’s not common to call the degrees of the major scale “major scale 1”, “major scale 2” etc. The common terms are “ 1st major degree 1”, 2nd major degree” etc. But even if so, one who knows the major degrees would know what is meant with a term like “Major scale 2”, probably. The Numbers in harmony and melody - among other things - help to orientate and they are abbreviations/synonyms for easier communication.
:15 seconds?
I'm new here.
Well, maybe you will find out. 😎😉
play melodic minor over everything that you can.
...Always and everywhere😂
Magic scales? LOL he practices relentlessness!
Well, he says different.
@@SaschaOnBass Sure melodic minor knowledge is required for anyone, but yeah his obsessive practice is the foundation for his sound.
@@whatilearnttoday5295Hey, I just know from his saying, that he never practiced obsessively and that he does not practice as much anymore.
And of course a lot of practice is required to achieve his skills.
@@SaschaOnBass No need to practice too much once it's all second nature, just play. He's definitely put in the hours.
I’d rather sound like me
That's a good idea! 👍️
If I try really hard to sound like Feraud, I would still sound like me. But I would sound like a better me.
I’d rather sound like you too
Me too
Better not pay any scales then, because learning new scales a techniques will make you not sound like you.
