- Fr. Moses tells about his life before being a monk, and he tells about the obstacles that he faced, and how he was ordained as a monk in a very young age! Watch Fr. Moses the Monk from the Eastern Orthodox Church; the Russian tradition only on CYC
After years I am watching this video again. It never gets old, rather stays pure and fresh as always. A strange sense of peace and inspiration I receive every time. May Allah bless you. I wish I could find more videos/writeup from you. But I suppose I understand. My prayers for you Fr. Moses.
💜💜💜
As a man of 67 I stand in awe of the depth of faith and understanding of this remarkable young man - a true inspiration
What a blessed and hopefully sanctified being. I love this channel - and am Muslim, too - please keep up the good work. We need more of this in the world (I adore the videos of Fr Lazarus) - that is, examples of people seeking the Divine, following an actual tradition, and showing compassion to all of creation. May Fr Moses be elevated to the loftiest of ranks by the Almighty.
The Almighty Trinity
Thank you, Salam. Salam alaikum!
A very honest, simple and humble young man. I pray that in all of our churches we can find such young men and women with such a spirit as he has.
Fr Moses mentioned Fr Lazarus El Anthony, as one who inspired him through watching his videos. I can also testify to the fact that Fr Lazarus has been like a 'spiritual guide' to me. May God bless these men, who have sacrificed their entire lives to the service of God.
Towards the end of this video my eyes filled with tears as I listened to this young priest quietly pleading for us to live a holy life. He likened the believer's life to that of being in a womb...what a wonderful example of keeping ourselves protected from 'the world's temptations"!
As members of the Body of Christ, we need to remember the monastics (both men and women) in our prayers. Glory be to God! Amen
May Christ preserve, keep, and save him. I would be so glad to have my son become a monk of our holy, Orthodox faith at age 19.
Robert Kyril Jordan (
The criminal Patriarch Kirill and the russian Orthodox Church supports the russian unjustified war in Ukraine - shameful and unchristlike - an embarrassment to God
The Purity of life, that was so truthful for a young man. I hope that your fulfillment at Mount Athos is your home. Blessings to you Fr. Moses.
A friend of mine, from his time at the monastery near Seattle where I live. good to see his face again. may his journey continue to be blessed
Are you still in touch? Do you know if he made it to Mt Athos in the end?
@@Salam99-1 I know he was on Mt Athos at one point, but that was a couple years ago. Don't know if it became his permanent home.
@@Salam99-1 I know father Moses too. He made it to my Athos where I met him. He has ended up in a small hermitage and is doing very well.
@@HaydenLarsJ oh wow, I didn't realise that one could enter a hermitage on Mt Athos so quickly
Thank you for sharing. May he continue upon his blessed journey with utter sincerity for God and in joy
God bless the coptic egyptian orthodox priest Fr Lazarus. And Fr Moses from the eastern Russian Orthodox Church.
What a beautiful, beautiful being.
May God's peace, protection, grace, love and blessings be with him always.
may God be with you and protect you until the end of your journey 🙏
Very inspiring
Amen! Thank you so much for sharing your story. God bless you and your holy journey
Have watch this video three times now, Fr. Moses. A good vibe. You inspire me.
May Lord keep yr faith strong
Felt so peaceful listening to him. Thank you! May God keep him always in His loving embrace and keep him a monk till old age. And may we still hear from him someday.
❤❤❤🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽Amen!!!
Please pray for me Fr. Moses. It is so good to see you again. -T. Paul
What a wonderfully moving account of the road to union with God, whether in or out of the monastery! God bless and preserve you Fr. Moses as you continue to seek and serve Him.
Thank you for sharing your journey. Glory to God for all things. Amin
People like father Moses are a bastion of hope, an inspiration to us who are battered and scar filled by the battle with the world. God bless the new generation which will hold the banner of Christendom high. Also it's so good to see that the message of father Lazarus Al-Anthony inspired not only myself, but also father Moses and various people who spoke about his message in the comments. God bless father Lazarus, i would not doubt that i'm speaking about a future saint of the Orthodox Faith; if that ever happens he will be my patron saint!
God bless this young man
God bless you, love the music. thank you for sharing.
God bless you for this video. But forgive me, the background music was distracting.
Ya a little, and there is nothing about the Russian Tradition. But it is good to hear him about his experience. God bless him! He is doing ok!
It is a battle (which I am afraid I lost several times) to concentrate on what he is saying.
God lead you to the right way, this world look beautiful but when u know deeply, full of disappointment & sad. father! God chooses you. God bless trough all ur journey. love you 😘
Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
Do people think that young people can't understand anything without music blaring in the background? It's so much more holy without the music.
Agreed
God blessed you 🙏🙏🙏
You've God's inspiration and guidance.
A young man with an old soul. Wise beyond his years.... He is a Bee 🐝

can you guys, for the sake of the message, please stop playing music in the background
That music makes opressing vibration.
They are trying too hard to be relevant to the world
Yes the background music is very annoying...distracts from his voice and story...
God bless you, father! I hope, myself!
may god help you with your journey. great video, and inspiring for younger generation. He is calm,i would like to hear from him again.
IM ARCHIMANDRITE FATHER MICHAEL EXORCIST PRIEST MONK , I WISH HIM WELL ! GLORY TO JESUS CHRIST FOR ALL THINGS !

Do you have any videos on youtube? I'd be interested in seeing them. Thanks. _/|\_ ;-)
the Lord God be with you.
God bless Fr Moses!
Enjoyed this very much. Thank you.
This is so beautiful and inspiring. Thank you!
God bless you father. ..
I know tiny bit about spiritual growth. Statements given here are small, mild outline on a true spiritual life. Sounds like this guy is doing well simply because he speaks well on the problems. As he says, spiritual quiet life without assistance is dangerous. Very wise statement.
I have had the pleasure of meeting and knowing Fr.Moses. I would love to be able to contact him again as it has been sometime since I have seen him. If anyone has any contact for him please let me know. In Christ Symeon
Hi I am in Canada.l like these vidio. I wanted to become a monk but I don't how.
You still want be a monk
I agree with some lower comments
don’t edit any music on background
Nice video! May I suggest posting the questions you asked him before he answered them, for next time. Thanks!
Wonderful video!
I totally understand the religious like, n sometimes I am so envious that I did not choose it for myself.
a fascinating video of the young monk and his journey.. Wonder if there is a more recent update on his life as a monk, as this video seems to be older than 3 years...
Why do you have the music?
I want to concentrate on what Father Moses says.
I wonder how Father Moses is doing. He is still fairly young.
Is the background music too loud? Yes.
Is it amazing that it’s “Stars Go Blue”? Also yes!
Even I want to become a monk but I don't know how and where to start !
Contact an Orthodox priest where you live. First and foremost: you must be a genuine convert to the Orthodox faith. If you haven't spoken to a priest and got the ball rolling on conversion: do it today. Don't delay! If you already are a convert: forgive my zeal. I'm very passionate about Holy Orthodoxy.
i would like to ask father Moses for his prayers - how can i do this? thanks so much!
Good luck to you getting the Greeks on Mt. Athos to open up the door to you. I'm Orthodox, I had an MTh and some Greek, but because I'm Anglo-Saxon they were very racist to me and Every Athos monastery said: "No, we accept Greeks". It broke me and now I'm in limbo. I keep praying that a Monastery will open up its doors and life of sanctification. Amin!
You can visit a coptic orthodox monastery
No music please at least not this stuff.
May God preserve him from the schismatics of the church of Constantinople!!!!
The music is unGodly and inappropriate, we are not of the world and therefore playing secular music which is demonic is to be avoided. There is plenty of options from the vast treasury of church music to choose from. Also pausing the monologue for a music ruins the inspiration from this man of God
Evangelization is better than being a monk. Starting a ministry or church is better.
A statement without a reason behind it or understanding the point of Orthodox monasticism. I'll back up both points, so you can see how it's done. 1. Your statement lacks any reason why missions or a church plant is better than monasticism. 2. Orthodox monasticism has as one of its goals to pray for the world. Another goal is to be a temporary refuge for Christians living in the world. These are needed along with missions and church planting. Even Protestants have retreats for people to spiritually recharge.
Jesus was a radical. He lived like a monk. In the end, you can only become enlightened yourself. Helping others is fantastic, but it cannot be the be-all, end-all of existence. You must take care of your own spiritual garden. Your witness through solitude in the monastic life is changing the world's karma through your radical "divorce" from the world and all its empty pleasures. Evangelization as is understood by many Protestant denominations cannot do this. That's all "clinging to the world proclaiming Jesus." Sorry, but it does not work that way. Peace to you.
Of course, by "evangelization" and "starting a church" you must mean starting *yet another* protestant sect that claims to go by "the bible alone" -------but separates itself from the other 32,000 *other* sects who *also* make that claim.
Yeah, that's *exactly* what the world needs. This madness is the logical end of Luther's reformation-----and Holy Orthodoxy is the only remedy.
really?

That watermark is beyond distracting. Good interview otherwise.
