I hate to say it, but many of the natural hair brands won't make it if this economy continues spiraling downward. Everyone will be shopping for the cheaper products.
I'm still looking for a cheaper alternative to Camille Rose Aloe Butter Gel. It's extremely expensive here. I can cook two Nigerian pots of soup with the price.
I'm positive most of these natural hair brands will either go out of business of be forced to lower their prices. Remember when some of the hair products costed $14 for one bottle. Absolutely, ridiculous.
I stopped buying most brands and went back to the basics. Suave Shea butter shampoo and conditioner. Cantu leave-in. Blue Magic & some oil for scalp. Hair doing great. Routine simple and affordable ✅
For me, Camille Rose is a no, Shea Moisture is a no, TréLuxe is a no, Melanin is a no, and The Mane Choice is a Hell Naw! My routine includes Mielle shampoos , rinse out conditioners , and leave ins, Soultanicals deep conditioners, and while I still haven’t found my absolute HG for stylers, I’m still using up everything in my stash until I find something. I use the entire MICHE moisture line in the winter time. I think that with maturing we don’t want a million products just the ones that actually works for us.
I’m late but this was a great video… It saddens me to see some of my favs on ur list, but I absolutely understand that everyone’s hair is different! I actually love Adwoa beauty (the blue tansy shampoo & deep conditioner, leave-in.. Baomint leave-in, curl cream & deep conditioner) but once I stop being able to find them in TJ Maxx & Marshall’s it’s a wrap.. they cost entirely too much.. The same with Miche… the products work great in my hair but the prices are ridiculous.. I’ll only buy from them if they have good Black Friday sales… TGIN is a no going forward, Shea Moisture, Alikay Naturals, Curlsmith, DevaCurl, Ouidad, Mane Choice & Miss Jessie’s are also out going forward… Pattern too… The only product I actually LOVE is the leave-in.. the rest are inconsistent.. & for the price I need them to work every single time.. I doubt I’ll be able to shake the hold Camille Rose has on me & I’ve gone back to using Mielle bc THEY WORK!.. I also get great results with Curls blueberry & sea moss lines… I love everything Melanin except the oil blend… for it to be so lightweight, it never really penetrates my hair & I don’t really like the way it smells.. my junkie-ism days are absolutely over!!
For me brands I'll probaby never buy again: Adwoa Beauty - everyone loves their stuff except my hair and wallet. Miche - Too expensive for subpar results Curls Dynasty - Okay products but nothing special Carols daughter - nope Oyin - nope Alikay Naturals - nope Uncle Funky's - nope Taliah waajid -the sample packets worked better than the full sized so nope Treluxe - I liked the creme but no hold and wayyyy tooooo pricey for the quantity Mane choice - I can't keep up with all the formula changes Melanin Haircare - I wish upon a star that I loved these products but no. Especially the leave in - NOPE. The brands that I've had the best success with are Mielle and TGIN. I know people hate mielle but chile they always have a sale and in these times, I need affordability. TGIN has some great products as well, I don't mind silicones (they get a bad rep from the natural hair community) and TGIN also tends to have good sales. Camille rose I'm kind of iffy about, I love their aloe whipped butter gel for braid outs and curl maker for mini twists butttttttttt Camille Rose is pricey chile and they don't really have sales like that so I definitely don't purchase as frequently. All in all, I've tried ALOT and I really do regret. I know there are stylists who say its not about the product its the technique, this is true but trust there are products that no matter what I do, they don't give. Also, I'm over spending an arm and leg for products. Like Adwoa really selling a deep conditioner for 40 dollars now? huh lol. amma sit this one out.
Honey’s Handmade’s website gives me anxiety. They have 250 products and they come out with new products every two weeks. I will say that they practically give away their products when they have sales. I am like “How are y’all making money?”

I still haven’t tried Melanin yet. I would definitely get the oil and that new deep conditioner. I am obsessed with that shower mirror though. I agree it just seems like her products may not preform the best for me. So glad to see you back 😛 Edit: I am DONE with Honey’s Handmade. They used my content without saying anything at all to me and that was my last straw. I still have a ton of products to finish from them but they gotta go.
Honeys Handmade will never see a DIME of my money. The customer service is horrible and their products is shipped with lumps of ingredients in them. The smell be on point.... it take customer service 18 years to answer a email/ send you a replacement!! and they don’t fill their containers all the way up.
I stopped being a product junkie not too long ago. The only brands I will buy are Camillerose, Shescentit, Oyin and Design essentials shampoos and conditioners.
Loved this video. I believe these kinds of videos are goldmines for anyone starting out or even just wanting additional opinions like myself. Take the advice from us past product junkies, YOU DONT NEED IT SIS! 😂 But really. Also, Honey’s Handmade recently (!!) got me with a bad/expired product. Good customer service but I only got store credit and ehhhh…. I’m just skeptical.

For me I didn’t get the same feeling when using Chocolate kinks and curls like everyone was acting like it was magic and I didn’t get that feeling I tried the red clay the coco cream and the aloha they all worked but it still took me the same amount of time to detangle and I still had to use shampoo after.
I’m a Adwoa beauty girl. I think it’s a brand that the more you use it the difference you will see. I’ve been using for over three years and I can tell the difference right away when I use something else. But everyone’s hair is different. My hair LOVES adwoa regular and blue tansy line. Miche-no, Alikay naturals-no, Honey handmade-hell no, melanin-leave in/oil, soultanicals-dc only, texture ID-dc only, and UFD-no. I’ve been natural to long to play myself with these brands.
Definitely stick to Adwoa because it seems as though your hair is definitely benefiting from it! It’s really just finding those staples and forgetting the rest lol 😂
I agree! VO5 only the lime ,diy egg mask and mane choice crystal orchid gel for special occasion finger coils(once it’s gone I won’t repurchase though)grape seed oil that’s it! I’m not spending more than an hour of my wage for hair products.
First of all so glad you're back!!! Definitely feeling you on this video! I've scaled back a lot on making hair videos and buying product. Natural/curly hair products are just getting out of hand when it comes to price AND there's just too much to choose from. Keeping it cheap and simple these days! . I went back to using my suave, l'oreal and eco styler gel chile and my hair seems to last longer and looks better. BUT honey's handmade is bae!! I agree they do have too many products but I stick to the deep conditioners especially when they're having a sale. All them other brands can have a seat! LOL
I'm off most brands and products tbh. I bought Melanin and Adwoa and never used them. Both still in the bin. I stopped Camille as well. I have accepted the fact that the curl love just isn't moisturizing for me. I might get the Aloe whipped cream (refuse to call it a gel lol) here and there. Also I'm done with Mane Choice since they went diverse lol Changed all the products. Meh. Miche is way too expensive for what you get. They lost me with the price. The large-size of the twisting cream might be something to get with a sale but... Meh. I could go on. My list is much longer....

Shampoo and DC can be many things, but the ONLY styling products I use are: TreLuxe leave-in, Camille Rose Curl Maker, & Wetline to add hold. It’s been working for months, so I’m not changing till it stops.😂😂😂

I told hubby it was for his birthday. 🤣 He takes care of it better than he does me, and the thing has had about 8 - 10 new leaves since it arrived!! I'm about to start charging it rent!! There's a cute trailing plant at work. Not sure what it's called though, so I'm waiting until the plant maintenance guy comes around so I can strike up a conversation and then ask him for a cutting.
My current no buy brands are curlsmith, man’s choice, and honeys handmade. I’m sorry but honeys’ products all have the same leave in consistency and don’t offer anything for my hair. I have been KILLING soultanicals and curls and potions. They are my absolute favs because they offer some type of benefit for my hair like scalp care and hair growth plus the consistency is A-1✨✨✨
Totally agree with you on Adwoa (however I love the blue tansy leave in and hair mask). I don't like most of Alikays products nor honey's handmade. I had serious inconsistency issue with Honey's handmade. I however still love Shescenit and Curl Origin and Miche. Mane choice is touch and go. I love the cheers gelato. That's my favorite gel of all time

I appreciate your honesty. I’ve only tried Adwoa from your list. The rest I haven’t tried .I’m all about products that’s on sale for a good price. Also it has to work on my hair. I’m mad uncle funny’s don’t have de funk anymore😫 I use Mielle , Garnier , Eden body works, right now. They’re my main 3. I did use Pantene gold sometimes certain products. Like I said I buy what’s on sale and clearance too.
I have never tried Melanin because I don't want 16oz for my first introduction to any product. Honeys handmade quality is still inconsistent after all these years. Alikay products don't wow me, their moisturizers are too heavy. I like Oyin and their simplicity, but I don't think to buy them often. I must be the only one that hate that Miche leave-in.

Melanin hair care shampoo is amazing, along with the oil. I’m allergic to coconut anything, and Whitney is as well that’s why I tried her products. I do love her line but that’s me. I would say try the shampoo though!
I hate saying this, but I just wasn’t getting the results I wanted from a lot of The Mane Choice products 😔 So that’s a brand I haven’t been purchasing from lately. I still have and love the hydration shampoo from the original line though.
Absolutely agree on the Melanin Haircare! I will buy the leave in and oil only. I like it for pre pooing only.. Edit.. AND the Miche. I only liked the moisture protein DC and still not repurchasing

I never found an Alikay Natural product that worked for me. Adwoa was OK. I am interested in trying the Blue Tansy line. Never tried Oyin Handmade. Not .2% in Miche 🤣 but you’re right. Still using Honey’s Handmade coconut water leave-in.
Great video. the mane choice use to be my staple brand but of late, I notice the difference and so I am looking for another staple brand. Shecentit has good products. I specially like the agave leave-in and passion fruit and flax leave-in. The marula malu and 4 butter DC's are also good. Honey handmade I like coconut water leave in and black soap and avocado cowash. Adwoa nothing but dryness. I haven't tried the other brands and I am not intrigued either. All in all I have tried many brands and I like selected products so I will roll with those.
I'm with you on the majority of those products. I will still repurchase some Miche products. UFD is my staple base gel for wash and gos. My fine strands can't with Melanin and Alikay. I grew up with Palmers products and like Ultra Sheen, it will never get anywhere near my hair. Honey's handmade was a total bust for me. I still like Oyin, but I'm not breaking my neck to purchase.
I’m really not a fan of Melanin either, however I do like the Shampoo. I did order the deep conditioner, we’ll see. Everyone’s hair responds differently to various products. I love the Adwoa Beauty Leave In and both Deep Conditioners. The Blue Tansy is my favorite. Alikay is a no for me. I love Miche Beauty’s Deep Conditioners and my favorite products are their Detox Shampoo and Lavish Leave In. Nooo to Honey’s Handmade. I got spoiled products. Yep not wowed by Texture I.D. UNCLE FUNKY’s DAUGHTER CURLY MAGIC is Bae!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I use it every wash day under my stylers as a moisturizer. Works like a charm. I used to have dry hair. No more. She’s a keeper. I love that SheSentIt Hair Mask. I think that’s the only product I’ve used from them. I’ve only purchased twice and have had no problems.

I tried the whole Adwoa Blue Tansy line. The shampoo is my HG shampoo, and I'm not even into shampoo like that. It's perfect for my hair. Otherwise, I don't need anything else from them. I'm glad they are successful, though.

As I am, CURLS, Cantu, Creme of Nature, Aunt Jackies, design essentials (only like the mousse and almond & avocado shampoo), Curlsmith (not impressed, MAYBE I'll try some products from the purple line, but the blue and original lines were disappointing for me)

Your videos are so helpful! They helped as a stepping stone into research when I worked at Sally Beauty for product recommendations. It's been harder to help people now that I work at Sephora because I have a hard time telling people about products at Sephora's high price point for so-so formulations.

Adwoa is definitely over priced. I have tried several of her hair products and they just do not warrant the price tag. Melanin doesn’t work for me either.

I don't buy products at all none, I just use shea butter and oils, I wet my hair daily and now my hair is thriving, I save so much money, damn these products. my money stays in my pocket.
Alikay: tried alot of products I didn't like but the 1 product I will always suggest is the Honey & Sage dc. Camille Rose: (I was a stan but the effectiveness has decreased⬇️ for me like Fresh curl) but will suggest the Algae Renew dc, Honey leavein and Green Tea oil. Almost all of products caused eye irritation. Miche: leave in and butter cream for me was meh. Too pasty. The bounce cream I kinda liked. Never tried dc Adwoa: not a fan of Baomint smell. The leavein doesn't do much on its own for the price point but pairs well with & increases the moisturizing effects of other products. Not a repurchase for me. Oyin: liked Greg juice better than the Juice and Berries but effectiveness has decreased. Curls & Potions: still figuring it out Sienna Naturals: still figuring it out Olaplex: still figuring it out Alodia: No, just no except the black shampoo Soultanicals: no for leave in & stylers, haven't tried dcs Miss Jessie's: not moisturizing & not for my hair type really Naturall: had a bad experience with the dc and other products not great either. Honey's Handmade: very curious but company reviews scared 😨 me so never tried. She Scent it: Lord, I just bought 10 products from the 40% off sale. Was always curious & jumped at the sale. I understand what you mean, I spent alot of time on the site so I used the search function to look for products specifically for my type 4 hair & ingredients I was avoiding/wanting.

I stopped being a product junkie not too long ago. The only brands I will buy are Camillerose, Shescentit, Oyin and Design essentials shampoos and conditioners.
Loved this video. I believe these kinds of videos are goldmines for anyone starting out or even just wanting additional opinions like myself. Take the advice from us past product junkies, YOU DONT NEED IT SIS! 😂 But really. Also, Honey’s Handmade recently (!!) got me with a bad/expired product. Good customer service but I only got store credit and ehhhh…. I’m just skeptical.

For me I didn’t get the same feeling when using Chocolate kinks and curls like everyone was acting like it was magic and I didn’t get that feeling I tried the red clay the coco cream and the aloha they all worked but it still took me the same amount of time to detangle and I still had to use shampoo after.
Exactly! I bought two of the clay washes. I also ordered another product on accident. I did not like it! It was all trash! A waste of money!
I’m a Adwoa beauty girl. I think it’s a brand that the more you use it the difference you will see. I’ve been using for over three years and I can tell the difference right away when I use something else. But everyone’s hair is different. My hair LOVES adwoa regular and blue tansy line. Miche-no, Alikay naturals-no, Honey handmade-hell no, melanin-leave in/oil, soultanicals-dc only, texture ID-dc only, and UFD-no. I’ve been natural to long to play myself with these brands.

Definitely stick to Adwoa because it seems as though your hair is definitely benefiting from it! It’s really just finding those staples and forgetting the rest lol 😂

First of all so glad you're back!!! Definitely feeling you on this video! I've scaled back a lot on making hair videos and buying product. Natural/curly hair products are just getting out of hand when it comes to price AND there's just too much to choose from. Keeping it cheap and simple these days! . I went back to using my suave, l'oreal and eco styler gel chile and my hair seems to last longer and looks better. BUT honey's handmade is bae!! I agree they do have too many products but I stick to the deep conditioners especially when they're having a sale. All them other brands can have a seat! LOL

I'm off most brands and products tbh. I bought Melanin and Adwoa and never used them. Both still in the bin. I stopped Camille as well. I have accepted the fact that the curl love just isn't moisturizing for me. I might get the Aloe whipped cream (refuse to call it a gel lol) here and there. Also I'm done with Mane Choice since they went diverse lol Changed all the products. Meh. Miche is way too expensive for what you get. They lost me with the price. The large-size of the twisting cream might be something to get with a sale but... Meh. I could go on. My list is much longer....

I told hubby it was for his birthday. 🤣 He takes care of it better than he does me, and the thing has had about 8 - 10 new leaves since it arrived!! I'm about to start charging it rent!! There's a cute trailing plant at work. Not sure what it's called though, so I'm waiting until the plant maintenance guy comes around so I can strike up a conversation and then ask him for a cutting.

I have been KILLING soultanicals and curls and potions. They are my absolute favs because they offer some type of benefit for my hair like scalp care and hair growth plus the consistency is A-1✨✨✨

Totally agree with you on Adwoa (however I love the blue tansy leave in and hair mask). I don't like most of Alikays products nor honey's handmade. I had serious inconsistency issue with Honey's handmade. I however still love Shescenit and Curl Origin and Miche. Mane choice is touch and go. I love the cheers gelato. That's my favorite gel of all time

I have never tried Melanin because I don't want 16oz for my first introduction to any product. Honeys handmade quality is still inconsistent after all these years. Alikay products don't wow me, their moisturizers are too heavy. I like Oyin and their simplicity, but I don't think to buy them often. I must be the only one that hate that Miche leave-in.

Melanin hair care shampoo is amazing, along with the oil. I’m allergic to coconut anything, and Whitney is as well that’s why I tried her products. I do love her line but that’s me. I would say try the shampoo though!

I never found an Alikay Natural product that worked for me. Adwoa was OK. I am interested in trying the Blue Tansy line. Never tried Oyin Handmade. Not .2% in Miche 🤣 but you’re right. Still using Honey’s Handmade coconut water leave-in.
Great video. the mane choice use to be my staple brand but of late, I notice the difference and so I am looking for another staple brand. Shecentit has good products. I specially like the agave leave-in and passion fruit and flax leave-in. The marula malu and 4 butter DC's are also good. Honey handmade I like coconut water leave in and black soap and avocado cowash. Adwoa nothing but dryness. I haven't tried the other brands and I am not intrigued either. All in all I have tried many brands and I like selected products so I will roll with those.
I'm with you on the majority of those products. I will still repurchase some Miche products. UFD is my staple base gel for wash and gos. My fine strands can't with Melanin and Alikay. I grew up with Palmers products and like Ultra Sheen, it will never get anywhere near my hair.
Honey's handmade was a total bust for me. I still like Oyin, but I'm not breaking my neck to purchase.

I’m really not a fan of Melanin either, however I do like the Shampoo. I did order the deep conditioner, we’ll see. Everyone’s hair responds differently to various products. I love the Adwoa Beauty Leave In and both Deep Conditioners. The Blue Tansy is my favorite. Alikay is a no for me. I love Miche Beauty’s Deep Conditioners and my favorite products
are their Detox Shampoo and Lavish Leave In. Nooo to Honey’s Handmade. I got spoiled products. Yep not wowed by Texture I.D. UNCLE FUNKY’s DAUGHTER CURLY MAGIC is Bae!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I use it every wash day under my stylers as a moisturizer. Works like a charm. I used to have dry hair. No more. She’s a keeper. I love that SheSentIt Hair Mask. I think that’s the only product I’ve used from them. I’ve only purchased twice and have had no problems.

I tried the whole Adwoa Blue Tansy line. The shampoo is my HG shampoo, and I'm not even into shampoo like that. It's perfect for my hair. Otherwise, I don't need anything else from them. I'm glad they are successful, though.

As I am, CURLS, Cantu, Creme of Nature, Aunt Jackies, design essentials (only like the mousse and almond & avocado shampoo), Curlsmith (not impressed, MAYBE I'll try some products from the purple line, but the blue and original lines were disappointing for me)

Alikay: tried alot of products I didn't like but the 1 product I will always suggest is the Honey & Sage dc.
Camille Rose: (I was a stan but the effectiveness has decreased⬇️ for me like Fresh curl) but will suggest the Algae Renew dc, Honey leavein and Green Tea oil. Almost all of products caused eye irritation.
Miche: leave in and butter cream for me was meh. Too pasty. The bounce cream I kinda liked. Never tried dc
Adwoa: not a fan of Baomint smell.
The leavein doesn't do much on its own for the price point but pairs well with & increases the moisturizing effects of other products. Not a repurchase for me.
Oyin: liked Greg juice better than the Juice and Berries but effectiveness has decreased.
Curls & Potions: still figuring it out
Sienna Naturals: still figuring it out
Olaplex: still figuring it out
