  • My Ebay Chinese Elm has put on so much growth since the last trim, I think its time I gave it a good cut.
    The primary branches have thickened up enough to cut them back and allow for new buds to grow ready for the secondary branches to develop.
    Enjoy the video and thank you for watching.

    Bush to bonsai ❤ did you try making cuttings out of the shoots yet?

    • @bonsaiexpression
      @bonsaiexpression  3 месяца назад

      Normally I would but I've got far too many Chinese Elms now from cuttings. They grow very easy and if I take any more my whole collection will just be Elms 🫣

      @@bonsaiexpression elm clone army 😂 maybe you can trade them with others ? Or use them as presents until everyone is sick of them too 🤭

      I would trade but there's no one near me to trade with unfortunately. I would love a few more larch.

      @SandraOhmayer nice 👍🏼. One of my larch isn't doing too well with the heat. I'm hopeful it pulls through. But the others are all fine. ☺️ I think there temperature sensitive Sometimes. 🫣

      Hi Frank. I use clay molar, spagnum moss, vermiculite and pine bark. I have a full video on my soil mix if you want to check it out. 👍🏼

    I wanted to ask what is too hot for a Chinese elm because here in my country its quite hot, its 31°C (87°F) and I don't know if it's too hot.

    • @bonsaiexpression
      @bonsaiexpression  3 месяца назад +1

      It gets in the 30s here too sometimes but not too often and not for long. I would recommend keeping them in shaded or semi shaded areas in that heat if it's constant with plenty of water. They love water and they will do fine ☺️

      @@bonsaiexpression I'm so sorry to bother you again... I just saw that the next days the maximium degrees are going to be 40°C do i need to be worried? Usually my elm gets sunlight in the mornings so after that is shaded. Thank you again🤗

      @naturerelax3285 they should be fine but I would try moving them into more shade if you get intense heat. You could always buy a shade cloth and put it up above your trees. Again watering is very important. Make sure you water more often and keep checking on your trees.
