Man, the absolute state of Ina after that switch out. Leaving the ground type in on milotic. Sending in 4x ice weakness garchomp after torterra just got killed by ice beam, using waterfall on a water type. She was broken.
Otoro at this point is Shonen Protagonist, he come back far stronger than ever after his defeat to the Champion and gain his own character development off screen until he finally manage to singlehandedly defeat the said Champion.
Otoro is also basically the very definition of GigaChad where even in front of the death's door, he still fighting.

As someone who once ate a single piece of high-grade otoro sushi for $20, and still thinks it's one of the best purchases I've ever made, as I still have wonderful dreams about that single bite of otoro... I can oddly sympathize with Ina's Pay to Win Otoro Strategy.

I'm wondering if the 2 X-SpDef items raised Otoro's SpDef enough that the AI recognised the imbalance between their Def and SpDef and started to favour using physical moves. Sucker Punch is Spiritomb's only physical move here so it'd fit that they'd repeatedly attempt what's hypothetically the most effective attack available, since it'd hit the hardest out of their options if it actually hit at all.
Shadow Ball spam to try lowering the SpDef back down was the other best choice I guess, since it's not dependant on the opponent's move, though would have lower returns if they did use an attacking move.

Magikarp is probably the only Pokemon that embodies the Carp jumping over the Dragon Gate and Soaring the Heavens properly. From a trashy goldfish/carp with only Splash, into a grand Dragon. Other fish pokemon usually appears to be swimming, but Magikarp would always lie on its side flopping.

Yes
yeah, stat changes are reset every time the pokemon returns to it's ball, so she effectively wasted the entire start of the battle
If you switch Pokémon, the one you switch to won't have the buffs and if you bring out the one you buffed it won't have the buffs, the only way to pass buffs is through -some special moves that let you do it like U-Turn and Volt Switch afaik- just Baton Pass actually.
@@M0D776 actually those dont transfer buffs either, the only one that does is baton pass.
I use the same strategy with my Jirachi, triple buff on special attack and special defense, and then used up about 30 moomoo milk to tank out all the earthquake attack.

She was using items to buff the pokemon, but the effects go away when you swap (unless you use specific moves). She essentially wasted a bunch of steroids by swapping.
the Setup (x-items/dragon dance) will disappear if you switch back your pokemon from the field

I feel like Ina could've won the first time if she didn't switch Otoro for Caesar Salad, she lost all of her stat boosters with that switch.
Perhaps that's why she reacted like that after doing that, she realized.

damn these girls really making it seem like it's some extreme difficulty. How hard is it to just build a better team to sweep the elite four + champion.
With usable consumables in battle and even a new crutch mechanic for newbies like surviving with 1 HP. Also, switching out after all those x buffs... wtf was the whole point of that then. Running out of healing items... no excuse not to have brought more since she didn't hesitate to use them in battle anyways.
