A trivia i learned about Splash that i found interesting, it was actually called Hop in Japanese, but translated into Splash because Magikarp was the only Pokemon that can use it at that time. The ones doing the translation thought that it wont matter. The name stays even now we have other Pokemon that uses Splash/Hop. Hop makes more sense than Splash, but since it is the official english term, i can only shrug.
