I see people praising this game for it's amazing achievements and technical successes for its generation. But nobody (or very rare people) are praising it for its music. It generates a kind of feeling of inspiration and badassery that most of the other themes in the franchise dont really utilize that well. Arkham Knight is the only other one to carry that type of tune, but there its more dark and twisted. To compare this to the movies, this game is in comparison "The Dark Knight". And the music in that movie is more lively and action packed. Where as in Arkham Knight, it still has some action and main motifs in the music. But its different, edgy and more depressing in some parts (Like in the final entry in "The Dark Knight Trilogy"). I dont know if its just me. But on a musical level, City and Knight have a major role in the storytelling and scenes in those games. Now as for the games story, I think it's pretty much flawless. The game has excellent characterizations of Batman and Joker, all the way to Penguin and Riddler. It's even poetic when in "The Catwoman DLC" when we see the painting of a man carrying a dead man in the same way that Bruce carried out Joker after his death. Unfortunately I dont really know what the painting is about so if someone can tell me, I would greatly appreciate it!. The pay your respects area in crime alley was one of the very first things I found upon playing the game for the first time. And when I saw it, I was full of sadness and emotional pain. When it's still and the music slowly builds into a sad violin. And the camera swirls around the chalk marks on the ground with Batman kneeling before the place where his parents were killed all those years ago. I genuinely think that this has more impact than any "Wayne's Death" on screen in any interpretation. Here you feel the pain and the story behind it, without having to see it again and again. BVS is the only one to nail the Wayne's murders to me. Bruce, forwarding behind his father while his mother is in shock. His father swinging at the man in front of them only to fall to the ground with a slug in his chest. Martha's Pearl's falling, the music. It's done perfectly. But that, will never hit harder to me than when I came across this random little alleyway and saw the light and the chalk on the concrete. From that moment forward, I knew what Batman was. He isnt some kind of "Vigilante" or "Superhero". He is just a man, who tries to be better than those around him. To better a city that took everything away from him. Most people see Batman as a self righteous bastard who does things because his mommy and daddy got shot. And to an extent, they are right. But the way I see it, is that Batman represents getting over pain and making something good come out of that pain. He is the Light created from the Dark. He is a figure, watching over people that cant defend themselves. He is, The Batman...
This game series was my entire childhood nothing will ever live up to it. I'll sit in the menu and just scream the tune of this for 10 minutes before I play the game. Edit: Can you do the Arkham Origins theme, please.

Absolute tears every time I listen to this. The Batman Arkham Franchise is my favorite gaming franchise, and probably will remain my favorite for the rest of my time on this planet. Its going to be an impossible mission to make another franchise my favorite. Even if Insomniac's Spider-Man 3 comes out. It'd still be insanely hard for it to happen. I will forever be grateful, for kevin conroy, rocksteady, for making these my favorite games. Arkham City is my all time favorite video game.... great story, great music, great boss fights, great gameplay/mechanics, great side missions, and sooooo much more
This game is 12 years old now, and yet I still occasionally revisit it, now on the RTA but still, absolutely spectacular, one of the best games of all time.
I also platinumed the first two Arkham games and they are easily some of my favorite games of all time, but I have yet to platinum Arkham Knight just because its not really one of my personal favorite games and its trophies are even more challenging to accomplish!
@@Luke-xi2pq I only platinumed Arkham Knight (I've finally done it now, and that jump the batmobile 100m 8 times trophy is a glitchy bitch) because it's the end of the main Arkham series so far and it seemed fitting to do it before I went to uni as that series has defined most of my gaming life so far. That being said, I agree it's not one of my favourites and the first two are much better. I've also decided I'm going to go back and platinum asylum now after I've finished the dlc challenge missions.

Ha! I was just listening to your injustice 2 video last night, and one of the top comments on that was asking for this! Anyway, while I personally prefer both Asylum and Knight over City, I gotta admit this is the best piece of music from the entire franchise.
The Arkham series’s score was pretty damn awesome.
My personal favorite’s score is Arkham Origins.

THIS is the BEST BATMAN GAME TO DATE.
Arkham City is my all time favorite video game.... great story, great music, great boss fights, great gameplay/mechanics, great side missions, and sooooo much more

This game is 12 years old now, and yet I still occasionally revisit it, now on the RTA but still, absolutely spectacular, one of the best games of all time.
Yes! Still one of my favourite games of all time and one of my proudest platinum trophies! I’m working on Arkham knight’s platinum right now!
I also platinumed the first two Arkham games and they are easily some of my favorite games of all time, but I have yet to platinum Arkham Knight just because its not really one of my personal favorite games and its trophies are even more challenging to accomplish!
@@Luke-xi2pq I only platinumed Arkham Knight (I've finally done it now, and that jump the batmobile 100m 8 times trophy is a glitchy bitch) because it's the end of the main Arkham series so far and it seemed fitting to do it before I went to uni as that series has defined most of my gaming life so far. That being said, I agree it's not one of my favourites and the first two are much better. I've also decided I'm going to go back and platinum asylum now after I've finished the dlc challenge missions.
