    Now if they could bring these new design updates to the non gmt version and also release a smaller 38 or 39 mm model I would be all over that watch and buy it immediately. Also a time only version of this watch would be so gorgeous, or is that too much to ask for :)

    They need to fix the play in the bezel and move the date window to the 6 o’clock position and use the circular hour marker at 3 o’clock to balance the dial.

  • @BassplayerTCL

    I own the version in blue with the bracelet and like it a lot. The indices are based on the Longines Admiral diver in the 90s.
    The bracelet is comfortable and solid with a useful adjustment. There is a bit of play in the bezel but the polishing does not affect my ability to grip it. Same with the crown.
    As for the movement, there is no other way you can get a true gmt with a 70+ hour power reserve and a silicon hairspring for $2750.

    Tf they make a 39mm version I would strongly consider buying since I need a GMT and a dive watch. This is 2 in 1!

    Thanks for doing a video review of this watch. I think it's a solid entry luxury type watch. It's more of a dive watch with an "Oh, it's also a traveler GMT. Nice!" type bonus included. Of course, you do pay for that over the old HydroConquest, but I think it was a smart move. I really appreciate you pointing out the funkiness of adjusting the hour hand, as well as the play in the bezel. Those are the type of things we can't find out through photos and intro articles. Better to have that info out there and let us decide if it would be something that bothers us than buy one (especially online) and end up disappointed. I absolutely love that they have a quick adjust clasp, and that brands are starting to move that more down in price level. Longines, please update the clasp on the Spirits and Zulu Time line to include this clasp. That's all those models are missing. I really did not like the circular markers at the 6 and 9 position at first, but it does give the watch personality. I'm a bit more neutral now. There may be something that could work better, but not one that comes to mind. Something like the Monta Skyquest does offer better finishing (having handled the Skyequest and from what I can tell of the HydroConquest), but the traveler GMT functionality could be the deal maker here for some. If the micro brands can get a hold of a Swiss traveler GMT movement, watch out big brands!
    My biggest gripe is I'd have loved those circular markers at 3 and 9, with the date moved to the 6 o'clock position like on the Zulu Times and Spirit 37mm. To be fair, the asymmetry was worse on the older HydroConquest with the numerals.

  • @ams914
    @ams914 11 месяцев назад +4

    They need to make the date window circular to make the random circular index at 6 and 9 make sense. Otherwise I can't unsee it. Or they just make them all rectangles. 6 and 9 as triangles would also work really well, I think.

    IMHO very similar to another Swatch brand, Mido's Ocean Star GMT, which I own & love. The hour hand when setting it is as you described. The bracelet on the Longines seems much better though, especially the on the fly micro adjust. The Mido's has one of those ratcheting extensions, which is ok but more for use over a wet suit. The Mido is half the price of the Longines, but I don't think half as good. It's really close to the quality of the Longines. Great review!

    • @msmeraglia
      @msmeraglia 11 месяцев назад

      agreed, its got a lot of clunky design language, the hand design specifically, the font and the bezel edge as well are too overdone, looks like the thousand knock off dive watches from cheap chinese companies. I really wish companies would get more creative with bezel inserts/fonts, so many look the same.
