I went to victor harbor when i was oh 15 it was so cool our hotel was right opposite the train tracks saw the train going past and horse drawn carriages

5:15 I know from experience that you can't trust people on the south coast to obey the stop signs at the crossings. Seen a few near misses, and there have been a few collisions in recent years. A dump truck can leave a nasty dent in a railcar.
It would be nice if they just observed the road rules. 🤔👍😀

If I watch this video three or four times I too will be "qualified for the road". The track needs a good "lift & pack" tamping in places too. A lovely jaunt idling along in one or two notch. Is that Ordinary Train Staff or Train Order Working on that line?
Train orders is the safe working system along this line. Glad you enjoyed the ride. 👍😀

I've been on this railway nearly ten years ago. Didn't know they had diesels though.

SteamRangers current operational diesel fleet is 350 (shunter at Mt Barker), 507, 844 & 958. Under restoration are 704 & 845.
