I did some group flights with a RUclipsr from Germany late last year around south America - Colombia, Ecuador, Chile and Argentina, and the scenery was amazing, well worth a scoot around!
Flying across the Pacific could be long and boring...suggest a northern route from Japan north across the Bering Sea and down through Alaska. The scenery with mountains and glaciers is awesome. I recently flew from Prudhoe Bay to Fairbanks and was surprised that the long oil pipeline follows along what the Ice Road Truckers refer to the as the Haul Road. Happy flying!
Great suggestions.
Hi Huddison. I did an around the world flight last year. I started from my home airfield, Haverfordwest EGFE on the 8th May 23 and completed it on the 19th August 23. I flew east and crossed the Pacific using the Aleutian Islands into Alaska, then because an around the world flight isn't recognised unless you fly both hemispheres, North and South, I flew down the east Pacific coast as far as Managua INTL SEQU, 00* 08' 47"S 078* 29' 29"W then to the west coast of Brazil and on back up north via the Caribbean, up to the north of Canada then via Green Land, Iceland and on down to Scotland and eventually back home to Haverfordwest EGFE. I kept a record of the flight using OpenOffice, From, To, Distance, Flight Time, Date, etc. It takes up 4 sheets of A4. If you wish I will send you the files. I enjoyed every minute of the flight, even the long boring bits, I kept each flight to around an hour, the longest flight was from Narsarsuaq BGBW to Keflavik BIKF at 3hrs 49min 40sec.
Thanks for sharing the info.
Brilliant idea. Thank you for the info so far & I look forward to the invite for the 1st leg ✈️👍
"Lets not dilly dalley"....I live just to hear our favourite RUclipsr Sim Pilot say that~! Flight with you is an epic adventure in itself! lol. World tour by prop...later on will be a real grind lol, jet is the way. Will all trips be on your discord?
Yes... Looking forward to joining you and others on this. Should be
fun!
Hope you can make a few of them.
I’ll definitely join whenever I can! I’ve done it solo but it would be a lot more fun with your group.
It should be great fun.
Oh man. I'm very new to the flight simulator world but I'm hooked... I really hope I can for a leg!!! Cheers Hud!
Hope yo see you on one (or a few).
Well, I've just landed at SouthEnd airport in the UK after leaving DNCA (Calabar) my home airfield in Nigeria. I hopped airport to airport right across Africa to Gibraltar and into Spain and all the way. Been having a blast.
Sounds amazing.
Are you Youtubing it or xboxing it? Have anyone join you? Im calling from PST time in Vancouver, BC, Canada.
@@ellonysman Wish I was, but nope, I'm kinda like winging it, solo. Haven't done RUclips video yet and nothing much in terms of multiplayer unless with my elder brother who's an avid MSFS simmer as well. I may give it a try one of these days, thanks.
@@peterbassey9668 well let me know ow what server and time pst, I'd like to join you!
Can’t wait for this to happen. Been flying solo lately and I do miss those weekend Huddison group flights of past,, can’t wait I’ll get my hanger ready🇺🇸🪖😀👍🙏🏼🛫
Excellent 😎🛫
I've been flying the shore line of ever country and continent even some islands. I've have found some strange airports in my travels mostly in twin engine it's been a blast.
Sounds like fun.
Nice idea, I've joined in one of these before but...we were free to choose our own plane, and some changed planes for different legs. Having to fly a specific plane would be showstopper for me and maybe others as I fly only GA aircraft. BTW It's quite possible to do a RTW flight in a GA aircraft if you choose the route carefully.
You'll be free to choose your own aircraft, as long as it can keep pace with the suggested one.
Sounds amazing! Im doing that atm but in australia, even spawning it at the gate i parked from the previous flight. Using navigraph now it makes it so much more easier and id love to join this is if i can. Non the less great idea and lets hope lots of people join in, it will be fun :)
Join in with which ever legs suit your own schedule :)
I did an around-the-world flight last month, just after setting up MSFS 2020 and getting the Honeycomb yoke and throttle quadrant. Flying eastward from North Carolina, I managed to make it across Europe, the Mideast, and parts of Asia in the Vision Jet. Doing this in real time could be long and somewhat boring, especially as I flew from Indonesia to Australia and back, then on to China. Wanting to remain in GA aircraft, I decided that - rather than shift to an airliner - to fly the Citation Longitude for the long routes further eastward, including from Japan, briefly in far eastern Russia to refuel, then to the Aleutians and mainland US. The flights in the Longitude are 2-3 times faster than in the Vision Jet, and it has a very comfortable glass panel layout that is more like GA than the layout of large commercial airliners.
Great info and tips.
If I understood this correctly, it sounds like a series of group flights picking up where one flight ended and starting a new one. It sounds like you don't have a schedule, but as you are in the UK, do you know about a time frame (UTC) these group flights will take place? Do you know how often, 2-3 or 4 times a week?
I'm interested in participating as much as I can. I like group flights and this sounds like fun. Around the world will allow us to see some challenges. I don’t know how to live stream my flying, but I sure would love to fly along with y’all. I assume we will be using the MS2020 servers and Discord for voice.
I thought you were going to start an around the world race. Back in the FS9 days, I was part of a bush pilot clubs and our leader set a race with a few other clubs to race GA planes around the world for bragging rights. Lots of rules and logging into a certain server that tracked each leg to make sure we were not breaking the rules. We signed up to be the primary pilot or secondary pilot of record for each race leg. Once the incoming pilot landed, we could take off for the next leg. I remember signing up for late night flights to keep our team moving along the race route. I also remember being surprised by the challenge on landing and crashing. Luckly I had a secondary plane signed up and we didn’t need to fly the leg from the beginning the leg.
I don’t know if we could do that now. It seemed back then, there were lots of bush pilot flying groups that were very active. It was sure fun.
Looking forward to this.
Typically the flights will take place around 17:30 UTC (18:30 UK) time.
They will be happening when I have the availability to fly them; mainly.
I am literally just starting the around the world trip. Yes I would love to JOIN. I Subscribed an Notifications are turned on.. I am from USA but will join when im available
