Im 33 years old, have seen DBZ through 100 times over, know the entire series like the back of my hand, and I still cry when this episode comes on.
I'm 30. years old and DBZ is part of my childhood, for us, elder people this anime is great inspiration, we definitely better understand that 😉

@@Damop17 A movie, this is anime serie not DBZ movies ?
@@markorandjelovic2897 I’m 39 and this show continues to tug on the heart strings after my 22 years of being a fan! :)
Cool story. My dad was the one who watched DBZ before me and when i was born he would show me episodes on VHS. We only had the first season. Later when DVDs became a bigger thing we managed to gather all orange boxset seasons and he watched till Gohan went to highschool. Unfortunately he passed away when i was 10, He always told me i was Gohan and He was Goku and this episode always reminds me of him. I remember one time he got sick and he told me "Dont worry im gonna come back as a super saiyan" and he got better.
Damn
Sending my condolences ❤
Jesus Christ
I sorry for your lose mate, that comment really show how that he really was a great father.
Yo that’s awesome, my condolences dude 🙏🏾✝️❤️🫂
If you're wondering why Goku didn't just teleport back to Earth after bringing Cell to King Kai's planet, that's because in the manga the moment Goku got Cell there, Cell instantly exploded. The anime likes to drag that second out, also there was no conversation between King Kai and Goku at that moment.
Yeah, for this specific scene I wish they made it instant, but it's still great
It would also make Goku look pretty rotten as a person if he just teleported away and left King Kai/Bubbles/Gregory to die on their own. He wouldn't do that to them. He'd be prepared to go down with them.
Now i know why, thank mate
cool i akways thought it happened faster in real tim but he had no time to re focus out of there and even take Kai bubbles and greg with him
Goku didnt even have to do that in the first place. gohan could have easily tasken him to space
Man, this is why Goku will always be the best. He selflessly sacrifices himself every single time to try and save everyone. I tear up every single time at this one, the song, the emotion, Goku just being Goku… god I love this show
Agreed I'm more of a Vegeta fan but Goku is the GOAT
Keep in mind this is the seccond time Goku dies protecting Gohan and the earth. And they still claim Goku is a bad father when the only time he didn't spend time with Gohan was when he was dead in result of saving Gohan.
Goku is far from the best
@@donsq4306 Hes definitely a horrible father

@@BarisTeeAnimeReactions Hey I was just wondering when you guys are done with the Cell Arc, could you please react to the Other World Tournament (with the episode where Goku & a new character fight his old villains in Hell) next season.
This episode always gets me, especially the "Goodbye, friends" part.
King Kai: Goku… For the sake of your friends… Your family… Your planet… You gave yourself. I’ll see you soon… my friend.
Goku: Hey King Kai, what should I do with Cell?
King Kai, Bubbles, and Gregory: AHHHHHHHHHH!
Props to TFS for making that moment funny.
This was a great lesson for Gohan to learn, by losing his father because of his own arrogance it taught him to never underestimate his opponents. Actually great storytelling in this episode. Awesome reactions as well :D

Sad to hear but I've noticed alot of ppl dying suddenly and it's becoming pretty scary. Stay safe my fellow dbz fans.
I still remember the first time as a kid crying my eyes out when Goku sacrificed himself to save the Earth.
I’ve been a DBZ fan for most of my life and it doesn’t matter how many times I’ve seen it, this episode hits hard every time.
This was one of the saddest deaths in DBZ. Goku sacrificed himself as well as King Kai and his planet just to save the Earth from Cell's explosion. And it was all for nothing, as Cell could regenerate himself and got stronger than ever. But at least this action led to the famous Father-Son Kamehameha!
Bro shut up
Don't spoil
This channel is centred around Madison, for what it's worth because she's the one who never watched it. There are likely more viewers here that already watched DBZ than those that have not so it would be impractical to restrict spoiling in the comment sections of this channel's videos
@@murads6947 disagree. And depending how far ahead of this episode they are, you're spoiling her too
@@waldoman7 your point does not hold because Madison wouldn't spoil herself by coming here in the first place. In the end, it's her decision anyway.
That echo of Gohan yelling “DADDY” traveling thru the valley fucks me up every single trip
I think the reason Krillin was so calm was that Gohan needed someone to comfort him and probably because he's used to experiencing the pain of loss, which is pretty sad.
Not only that, Killian also knows they can wish him back with the dragonballs or namikian dragon balls.
@@Choji2011 they couldn’t he already died twice, the only reason he’s back now is because elder Kai gave him his live

Boy I remember hearing that music when Goku was telling the others he had an idea and I was done. My little ass was tearing for real. Smh and it was no better hearing Gohan yell daddy into the void after he left. Man this shit still hits in all these years. Christ. Great reactions again Madison's genuine concern is always good stuff and you letting her experience it without saying anything most times to guide her is a great job. Let me get my kleenex.
When Goku touches his forehand..."literal chills". I went cold all over again. Never gets old.
This was even in future trunks timeline Goku died
Best Thumb for one of the Best episodes of Cell saga.
Prepare the bucket cause Madison will cry a lot.
Good vids and Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷 😀.
Gohan has had the most traumatic childhood ever, out of anyone in the series. Goku had it hard too but he spent 12 years in seclusion, Gohan from the age of 4 to 11 saw nothing but death, getting beat up, seeing his father and friends die. He will always be the best character to me.
True. Well said. Same for me
Can’t wait to see y’all’s reaction for the next episode. Vegeta is my favorite character in the whole series along with goku but next episode gets so dramatic and intense. I get goosebumps every time i watch that scene from that episode if you know, you know.

I wish dbs had an emotional moment like this.
There's no Cell in DBS so you cant have the emotional moment of his triumphant return from death.
@@peeturpain9379 True but if they brought Cell back they would most likely water him down into a team rocket villain like they did with Frieza.
@@stephenboud1711 true, as they did in DB GT.

@@saeres9288 no one cares about goku's sacrifice, this episode is all about the triumphant return of the greatest warrior Cell.
I think the reason krillin wasn’t sad was because Gohan needed someone at that moment. But krillen on the inside a part of him died.
You both making me feel like I'm watching Dragon Ball for the first time.
Bless you guys. 🌌💝
I'm mexican, so I never heard this series in english before tho. Thanks a lot, for the whole experience.
❤️😎👍👍
When Goku turns with serious face and fingers to forehead, I feel that.
I feel like this arc taught a very important lesson, cherish the time you have, especially with family, because you never know what could happen. Goku believed that good would win in the end, no matter what, so rather than be stressed, he wanted to spend the little time that Cell had given before the tournament to be with his family. Whether or not he was certain of victory, more importantly he was aware that lives were on the line, including, or should I say, especially his own.
The self control at the end to stop yourself from revealing spoilers… good job! Whenever there is a similar pairing of someone who has seen something and someone who is new to it, there will always be times where it can be ruined by spoilers being given in such moments so it is nice to watch these where one of you are completely going in blind each episode.
He's been doing it for 188 episodes now, he's a pro a not spoiling anything whilst still making conversation
@@necrogon22 I know I could never do the same if I was in the same situation watching it with someone who has not yet seen it. Even if I tried to hold it in, I would slip up eventually and either answer the question directly or fail to hide my expression which would give away the spoilers or give hints to certain things. I started watching and subscribed at around the Freiza saga and have enjoyed the videos since then. ^^
Hearing Gohan and the others begging Goku not to go will always hit hard.
They knew instinctively what Goku was about to do.
It's in his nature.
Such a phenomenal scene.
My wife was the same, all the time asking me stuff, haha, while me : 😶
Now this is one of my favorite drawn episodes and the emotions you really feel the sadness of Goku's sacrifice
I remember being 8 years old watching this episode. It messed with me big time cause Goku was one of those rare animated characters you never expected to sacrifice his life so honorably. And hearing Gohan screaming "Daddy!" is heartbreaking and haunting.
Cell's return took me by surprise. I can recall getting frustrating shouting, "Why won't you die!" And that technique Cell used, it was Frieza's death beam, the same one used on Vegeta on Namek.
But taking out Trunks, Cell did intentionally since he's the one fighter equal to Cell and doesn't want him interfering with his fight with Gohan.
But if Cell was really smart, he would have taken out the Ace in the Hole, Gohan. But since this is Cell we're talking about, he probably wants to finish off Gohan on his own terms. But I suppose that's the price you pay for having Frieza's cells, mostly Frieza's pride he inherited.
Next episode is bat shit crazy when it's revealed how Cell survived.
@baris Tee Anime Remember King Kai is a god not mortal, although he's a god he can still die. Also in the manga when Goku teleported to king kai's planet Cell blew up immediately, so he didn't have time to teleport away. The Anime just threw a little bit more into it. And even if he had a couple seconds he would've had to grab king kai and gang concentrate on a ki signature from earth to teleport away, simply not enough time.
his gf during a emotional scene : 👁👄👁
him : 😐
Btw I was thinking about this many times, why didn't Goku just teleport back fast ?
But if you think about it, this scene happened really and I mean REALLY fast. In seconds and I think Goku felt guilty about killing King Kai as well, would have been a dick move teleport Cell there and leave 😂 Back in the day when I saw this for the first time I cried like a baby.
As soon as he touched Cell he exploded but the instant transmission allowed Goku to get to another destination before that happened.
He didn't want to, on some selfish crap
This episode is just so intense, Cell turning into a bomb, Goku's sacrifice, Cell's return and Trunks death, everything just goes so wrong
One of the most touching moments in DBZ
"Can you promise me that we'll... Grow old together?" - Krillin
Cell came back because you actually have to destroy every cell in his body to kill him I think, it's why blowing his head off didn't work from Goku
He got a Zenkai from coming back literally almost being destroyed and that Zenkai was enough to actually put evolve him into his Perfect Form without 18. In addition to all of that, he also gained power from his experience fighting Gohan SSJ2, which further increased his power above where he was.
To add insult to injury, he also possesses Goku's DNA and latent ability to copy techniques after seeing them. So he saw Goku use instant transmission and copied the technique to return to Earth.
Gohan should've listened, Goku and Vegeta are known for dragging fights out and even they knew to erase Cell as soon as they got an opportunity this time around.
Gohan didn't learn from their mistakes, but how could he have? He's only a kid and SSJ2 is a transformation that makes you more bloodthirsty and violent. Brings out those Saiyan instincts.
I agree however despite the increase of power his power was nowhere near Gohan, Gohan only had trouble because of Goku "death" it open his eyes so even in ssj2 he was still holding back, although that arm is foreshadowing
The music in this scene is just out of this world
Simply amazing
Also Goku probably would be able to comeback but he chose not to I believe
Only the Namek dragonballs ur able to bring him back since earth dragonballs won't grant that wish cuz goku already been wish back once before.
Selfish Goku as usual
I remember seeing this scene for the first time. I laughed by ass off when he teleported to King Kai's place. Goku did him dirty 🤣
Now Gohan realizes he has given himself to his own pride and arrogance, and it's just to late to go back, he will regret this eventually.
So the important thing to notice about this scene with Cell and Gohan. Everyone keeps saying Gohan let the power go to his head, and he was torturing/toying with Cell. Piccolo even mentions it later in DBS telling Gohan he let the power go to his head during this scene and with a later villain in DBZ. But that’s actually wrong. Gohan didn’t let the power go to his head, at least not initially (and certainly not intentionally). When he first gets Cell to revert to his previous stage, he is trying to get Cell to give up, to realize he is completely outclassed, and to surrender. Piccolo mentions before Gohan ascends that Gohan isn’t like Goku, he doesn’t thirst for battle. Android 16 even says he is gentle, he doesn’t like to hurt others. At this point, Gohan doesn’t want to kill Cell, he wants him to surrender. Later when they try to get Gohan to finish it and he says “I think I’ll let him suffer”, it isn’t about torture. He wants Cell to suffer, in the realization that he is helpless against Gohan the same way the people of earth were helpless against Cell. He wants him to experience the same pain, fear, and suffering he inflicted upon others because he wants him to give up. It isn’t about power going to his head, he wants Cell to understand what he did from the other side of the mirror. Goku always showed mercy to his enemies and never killed unless he absolutely had to, and that’s the image Gohan has in his mind. He wants to be like his dad, he wants to be merciful and doesn’t want to kill Cell unless he has to, but he does want Cell to suffer and experience the same things he inflicted on others as a sort of punishment.
Goodbye my son. The Faulconer frieza's death music playing in the background, when I first so this it hit me so hard. I know Madison will be teary eyed after this scene that's for sure.
Literal goosebumps watching this episode, and Ive watched this show 10+ times. I love this show
Vegeta is going to go mental if Trunks dies
15:52;I think King Kai is a lesser deity, and not really a mortal.
King Kai is not a mortal, but he's also mortal.
The English language can be interesting sometimes.
Being mortal means you can't escape death. Being mortal also means you aren't deity.
Hey Madison please don't read this part.
Deities can die too, if you remember Old Kai.
Old Kai is a deity, he can't die of old age because most deities have longevity, but can still die if he's killed (or trade life).
Deities call those who are not deities mortals, but deities can still die because they don't have immortality. (Zamasu kills all the deities in future Trunks' timeline)
The most savage pause yet 😂 what’s going through your head! I’m not crying 😢 your crying 😢
Gohan proved he was indeed a saiyan. He had a chance to beat Cell but he got drunk on his power so Cell could self destruct. Goku as usual made the sacrifice play and what’s more since he was brought back to life already he can’t be wised back again. That moment when he said goodbye he thought deeply and looked at his friends and knew he had to do. But what more in the end it was for nothing Cell survived and now he’s stronger than ever now and he’s not playing anymore given he one-shot Trunks.
I'm lost for words during this episode...it's been intense, you guys will always be my favorite reactors!
❤️
After DBZ please watch Naruto next! My top two favorite Animes! First love was dbz for years then watched naruto.
What's funny about this episode is that cell calls Gohan a boy and monster. I was like cell make up your mind either call him a boy or monster and stick with one 😂🤣😂
“I don’t want him to die.” Had she styli not realized that death has no consequence in Dragon Ball? This is the second time Goku dies.
DBZ was originally supposed to end with the cell saga. The forecaster 2 episodes ago didn't say for nothing. "Did the role of the earths' protector pass from father to son?" And here Goku dies. Unable to be brought back with the dragonballs. Truly cementing the ending with a firm, yes, to that question.
I love how he looks at her to see her reaction and she is like “why are you looking at me?”
For me, what got me the most when Gohan screamed, "DADDYYYYYYYY!!!" after Goku's sacrifice.
For people who aren’t familiar with how the dragon balls work, at the time when goku died he couldn’t be wished back since he had already been brought back once before (the rules being you can only be revived once) so when a lot of us watched this at our ages we cried thinking goku was really dead.
Hey y’all should watch the first Broly movie. It took place near this saga but before Gohan turned super saiyan 2

This gets me every single time, no matter how many times I have seen it.
The greatest episode in anime history. Goku dead, dumbshit gohan dumbfounded and the greatest warrior making a perfect comeback.
Man, Goku is such a frickin goofball. "Sorry, guys. I couldn't think of anywhere else to bring him!" How about in the middle of space away from any planets?! He could instant transmission literally anywhere, and he chose King Kai's place lmao. Kai's planet getting blown up does make for some great comedy in the next few episodes though.
"That's right, cry." That delivery is hilarious 😂
to be honest, there was a great point made that several z fighters can take on that imperfect version of cell. theyre all recharged from the senzu bean and continue yelling at gohan to finish it when they are fully capable of doing it themselves. goku in particular. in mere super saiyan form he kept up with perfect cell for a while. imperfect cell would stand no chance. not sure what happened there.
I watched this when it first came out. And til this day when I see this. I cry. This is when real men cry
Gohan is showing everyone that sometimes when you snap like he did there is no listening it's not that he's lost in his power he's lost in his rage he went from not wanting to hurt sell to wanting to torture him that is a major mindset flip and I can speak from experience giving into that kind of Rage you do kind of act like Gohan's acting but you really don't care what anyone has to say you're doing what you want and it usually ends just like it did with Gohan and that is you lose something
Well, it was Cell's fault.
many people's favorite character in DB series is goku.. even me likes goku very much.. but every hero has a best partner.. here vegeta is that character!!! When cell regenerates, he achieves Super Saiyan 2 and even goku's instant transmission.. and gohan gets hurt in his hand trying to save vegeta and when cell and gohan release Ka-Me-Ha-Me-Ha gohan is helped by all the Z Fighters including goku but can't do anything.. just then vegeta helps and gohan completely able to kill cells in a way... even the rule that vegeta had in buu Saga is worth seeing...
I'm waiting for that buu saga to show...
but no matter what everyone says, I find vegeta's sacrifice the most painful scene in the entire dbz series.. just watch that episode to see how painful it was.. at least I found it to be a very painful scene..
My fav is Gohan in SSJ2 form. Vegeta is a good 2nd. :P and third is Frieza.
@@janrintjema787 wow! your favorite character list is pretty good..!! I also like frieza.. But this cell saga character of gohan is the best in my opinion.. I do also liked gohan in bojeck unbound movie too.. the best ssj2 transformation... but later I didn't like gohan that much I like him before..!!
Such A great Episode really shows the Impact of Gohan not finishing cell when he Had the chance.
They could've won easily, but:
-The androids took too long to leave (17's arrogance led to him being absorbed).
-Vegeta allowed him to absorb 18 for a challenge.
-Krillin destroyed the remote.
- Goku gave him a senzu bean.
-And Gohan didn't kill him when he had the chance.
They took far too many risk with Cell and look at where they are now.😔
Don't forget that Piccolo could finish Cell off in their first fight.
@@DevilMarioProductions I don't think he was strong enough at that point.
Also, Trunks could've killed Cell or 18
@@QT-jw6dx Piccolo said himself that he could've killed Cell. Also Piccolo was toying with Cell. The only reason Cell had chance to absorb Piccolo was because Cell is usually tricky, cunning villain.
Theres so much that madison predicted during these episodes. Her instincts are spot on!
Man, does Madison _always_ get this worked up in emotional moments in shows? 😆😛
Also, I don't know if this has been pointed out, but the whole brief conversation between Goku and King Kai didn't happen in the manga. In the manga, Goku just barely had enough time to apologize to King Kai before Cell exploded. This is in case some were wondering why Goku didn't just 'port King Kai, Bubbles, and Gregory out before the explosion.
Another thought: given that Goku needed to focus on a power signature before using Instant Transmission, he could've instead focused on the spirits of, say, King Piccolo, Raditz, or Frieza, and instead transmitted Cell to Hel ... um, HFIL.
To help answer Madison’s questions:
From the manga perspective, Goku didn’t have time to leave with King Kai and company since it was instantaneous when he got to King Kai’s planet.
With Cell on why he survived(I may be wrong since I don’t remember this entirely): Frieza and King Cold’s durability. Frieza did survive a planet’s explosion for example. If there’s any spec of cells left over, it will grow and Cell will regenerate due to Piccolo’s DNA and why every cell must be completely neutralized. If not, the cycle will continue and he’ll end up regenerating again(and it also makes sense to why Cell survived and was able to regenerate from the damage Goku inflicted with the Warp Kamehameha as much as I personally hated it 😂). Add insult to injury, he’ll be back stronger due to the Saiyan DNA via zenkai boosts.
No matter how many times I watch this episode it never gets old.
I’ve been waiting to see y’all’s reaction
Farewell goku
8:00 “what is this shit? Genetic?”
As epic and unsurpassable as the original will always be, gotta give credit to TFS for humour with weight…
Looking forward to eventual DBZA reactions to compliment the channel :)
Gohan wanted to live over Cell so that Cell would suffer more, and like any child he disobeyed his father to destroy him but like any normal parent Goku did not blame his son, but again sacrificed himself for the good of the whole universe which led to this for a son to lose his father and for his friends to lose Goku, I'm just sorry Madison, hang in there girl 🙂👊
The fact that Goku literally smiled at the face of death literally makes this sadder for some reason.
Imagine if they went in an entirely different direction with the show and started Gohan’s villain arc after this moment.
Would have been so sick!!
I never understood why goku didn't instant transmission back to earth but I believe he says later that as long as he's alive villains will get stronger and come to Earth to fight him.
There was no time. In the manga, Cell exploded instantly the moment Goku arrived on King Kai's planet. They added the extra dialogue in the anime to make the scene more dramatic.
In the manga cell exploded instantly after getting to king kais
So that explains that to ppl who only saw the anime and thought goku was an idiot for not teleporting back
There's so many things wrong with this scene that part is pointless to point out lol
@@colinnixon7739 But in the comments, that's the one part people are questioning the most.
Goku's sacrifice was so sad and the music with it hit even harder
This episode and later finial atonement are the saddest in the whole show
What's so interesting about the Cell Games arc is how much it sets up the new status quo for the Buu saga. Introducing Satan, Chi Chi getting pregnant, Goku dying, 18 being rescued.
Awesome! Can’t wait for her to see the next couple episodes!
Not sure if it was mentioned by another, but King Kai is “immortal” in the sense that he lives for an extremely long time (thousands of years) like all Kais… but his age is never mentioned that I am aware of… but like most things in this universe he can be destroyed by a more powerful force.
I realize now why goku didn't dip after taking cell. He wanted to take full responsibility of gohan since he had so much confidence in him and knew gohan is strong enough to save the earth even if he's not there. Once again showcasing how much faith he has in his son even after gohan neglecting the serious situation....damn it hits hard.
No it’s just filler inside the episode. In the manga he teleports to king kais planet and cell blows up without that much waiting
oh ok@@MrDdeded
The new beginning for goku to become strongest of all time
And so is vegeta
@@baristanime1fan809 Spoilers:
Took him to get possessed by Babidi to get strong as Goku.
@@DevilMarioProductions vegeta became ultra ego
Vegeta and goku are equal now
Beast Gohan stomps both of them. Spoiler alert!
That look on bulma's face is the fear of losing the one person who's been like a little brother to her.
If this was Dragonball Super:
Piccolo: “Gohan! finish him off!!”
Goku: **jumps in** Cell!!
Cell: huh?
Goku: KAMEHAMEHAAAAAAAAAAAA!!
10:53 Goku went to King Kai's planet because he needed an energy source to lock on to, and that was the place with the smallest amount of casualties, and, they're already in Other World, so death wouldn't change all that much for them.
Been watching Dragon Ball since I was a teen, pushing nearly 39 so somethings that are inconsistent either depiction and story wise I pick up on right away but in the end it all comes down to the writer and in what direction they want things to go, don't try to understand it is my suggestion. Couple of things that caught my eye in this episode and answers to some of your questions...
The location of King Kai's planet is mentioned, documented and shown several times throughout the anime to be "at the end of snake way" quite literally a few hundred meters above the tail end it seems so in this episode the depiction of it being all blown up in the middle of a dark space with starts behind it is incorrect. Now snake way itself begins in "other world" or basically the check in station by King Yemma who's in charge of the processing & sentencing of beings souls. So, you either have to die or have some anime hacks like Kami when he was the guardian of earth or Fortuneteller Baba with her floating ball both of which have demonstrated the ability to go there. Now Goku's hack is of course the "instant transmission" which btw King Kai also knows how to use as he showed it to Goku a few episodes back when he went there seeking his help to find New Namek planet to go kidnap (i mean recruit) Dende to be Earth's new guardian. I believe his response to Goku was "i would have shown you how but you never asked" in typical anime nonsensical logic.
1. Cell's explosion could have been contained if Gohand or the rest of the Z Squad combined would have just encapsulated Cell in some giant ki ball barrier/shield then just pushed him out into space to blow, the ki ball strength would have held cuz at this point in his imperfect worn out beaten state he was tens of times weaker than Gohan and even weaker than half the Z fighters present namely (Goku, Trunks, Vegeta and mayyyyybe Piccolo) so containing that caliber of a blast should have been well within their ability to do but the episode didn't call for a solution to stopping it, it called for a sacrifice so that's what we got. To the best of my knowledge I believe don't quote me but I believe Goku can create energy shields even as a child when he battled Piccolo's dad King Piccolo way back in Dragon Ball era I just don't know if he could expand it or apply to others not just himself. Shooot maybe Piccolo should have made himself giant and just ate Cell and contained the blast in his stomach who the hell knows but if he survived and if his head was still intact he could just regenerate but in all honesty Cell was pretty damn huge as is, not sure Piccolo could grow to that required size but if he's anything like the other Namekian Lord Slug then maybe? This is what we get when we try to rationalize approaches to solving problems with anime folks, we go down a dark shoulda/coulda/woulda/ road with no end.. lol. It didn't happen cuz the writers didn't want it, it's that simple. Too bad Cell didn't puke out Android 17 instead, he could have done the barrier idea no problem and with the help of the others they could have ki blasted that crap out into space but we all know Krillin needed to get back his peace of a** so that too didn't play out.
2. Finally Goku "could have" left King Kai's planet and as a matter of fact so could King Kai himself since he knew instant transmission, they could have both fled and taken Bubbles and Gregory with them or left them behind as collateral damage but didn't. Goku wouldn't run away while dropping a nuke that kill his friends and mentor so he had to stay back and pay the price of his own actions and again King Kai didn't leave cuz he was either slow or just simply anime bs didn't call for him surviving and you'll understand in future episodes why so he could continue to mentor Goku and go on to have new adventures setting up the Buu Saga down the road.
Frankly at the end of the day don't try to rationalize anime it doesn't have to make sense sometimes, it only moves in one direction and that's in whichever way Toriyama feels.
Thank you for the elaborate comment! I appreciate the time you put into this!
I agree with your conclusive point - no need to rationalize things too much!
Goku's sacrifice was noble and this scene in particular will always be heartbreaking, and it shows how much love Gohan had for his dad. First time i saw that scene i was quiet and very disheartening
I love SSJ2 Gohan, it is the very definition of fuck around and find out hahah.
i remember this with my mouth wide open that I couldn't believe what was happening that Gohan became so arrogant and the outcome of it! it hit me so hard i was mad at gohan! for that.😅but still he was a bad ass😁.
