I'm looking into buying 07 2.5i, my only concern is they have head gasket issues. would you recommend a sealer like Steel Seal be poured in when changing out the fluids to prevent issues?
It's important to change your coolant regularly with SUBARU coolant or regular coolant with Subaru conditioner. This prevents it from becoming acidic and corrosive. Seeing as in a boxer engine the head gaskets are constantly emerged in oil and coolant (low profile), and doesn't drain to the bottom when shut off like in an inline or v engine, keeping on top of coolant and oil changes is critical. Also, keep your battery in good working order is important in reducing coolant acidity as the engine block is used as a ground.
This was really helpful thank you!
All you have done here is drain the radiator. The old coolant is still in the engine block, heater matrix and header-tank.
Can idling the car drain the rest?
what would you recommend if we didnt have the fancy filler but needed to burp the system?
Buying one at a parts store for $15
The cap with the ears is usually on the header tank, and just a plain round cap for the rad.....

how much coolant did you use? all of the 1 gallon?
Грамотно.
when you switch from the green coolant to the blue do you still have to add the conditioner to it?
You should add the conditioner every time you drain and fill
What kind of coolant did you use? Was it the Subaru OEM coolant or another brand 50/50 mix of some sort?
+Alex Rodjom I used the Subaru super coolant 50/50 mix. Thanks for watching.
Would you mind sharing how much you paid for it? The pricing seems to be unusually high around me. Thanks!
