I was really hoping for a discount on the showdown board but then someone local to me was offloading their entire KDM product and I snagged the board for $140 instead of $250. Really hoping whatever new stuff there is doesn't sell out in .5 seconds like it does sometimes, my hands are too slow to look and buy that fast lol
You said you wouldn't comment on the Squire campaign for Black Knight. I was hoping on it going on sale for BF, so I could give my group something smaller to bite into if they don't have time to commit to a larger core campaign. Do you not recommend the Squire campaign?
I also wanna know what they intend to do about the Dark Treasury and the additional postage charge, on top of the blackest bundle postage already paid for. Cause I was charged extra on my black knight and Frog dog deliveries. It was briefly mentioned on the discord, but nothing since.
With inverted mountain needing 7 expansions, I don't think they can scale it more. You already have all the Quarry and the Nemesis necessary for a full campaign just with the prerequisite expansions, adding more would make it really crowded. Maybe a capstone monster and more encounter but no full Quarry or Nemesis
how does the backerkit thing work? If it's not in the shop, but in the backerkit for Black Friday, can anyone join in and get it there? Or do you have to have been part of it already/prior to Black Friday.
My plan is 2 orders, one from US HQ to help with lowering cost of getting a replacment, since replacement sent by itself would still cost me a 23$ handling fee by postal service for doing VAT stuff. So getting few more items to split that handling fee over will help feeling less hurt by it. US HQ: Aiming at 135$ of smaller white boxes. THese are more or less my xmas presents from my family. They ok giving me KDM stuff if was ok knowing in advance what i got and ordered it myself. EU: 3 bigger with boxes (of death series, glow or stuff like that), which be xnas present from company i work at With own money, at minimum whtie gigalion and then i see what left at a good price. But if new expansions are ½ of, those will tempt big time. General skipping preorder, i know i can save money, but might just wait even longer a pick those up at a black friday after they been released.
It is hard to speculate what they will have, but I think the things we mentioned are all likely to be there. With I think the Sun Erza and Lucy may not, but I am confident in all the others.
I have Core and gambler chest. However, I still playing with core only. If I would like to spend some money in KDM. What is your suggestion? Pre order something in Backer kit? I prefer to spend in playable content instead of miniature only stuffs. Thank you.
I would not really mess around with backer kit stuff in your position. HOWEVER, Backer kit is impossible to predict. I have no idea what will be there. I will be live on black firday, ask in the chat on the day of and I will know what is in there. But I am 97% sure I will still say Backer Kit is not the best bet for those in a similar situation to you. My suggestions in the $300 dollar range are for players who do not own anything more than core + gce. Slenderman and DBK would be great bets, they will also likely be 50% off. Frogdog and Black Knight if they are on sale, but if not, no rush to get them right away. Aluminum took the same approach with his $300 suggestions. Players who have core + gce only. Sunstalker is a great one and will be on sale. My $150 suggestions are for those who are very invested and coming to BF looking to improve large collections. Aluminum lists lots of things in his $150 suggestions. Lantern Armor Aya and Willow are great for those in your situation. We do take time to explain our reasoning behind our choices, and I hope the time stamps help.
Yeah, always hard to tell what the stock will look like. Taste has mentioned they have been getting ready and building up stock in other warehouses for black friday. What that means, who knows.
I'm just hoping that Slenderman comes back in stock. we are SO DONE with the King's man after 6 campaigns of the base game. Ironically the lion/Antelope/Phoenix we aren't nearly as bored with. At this point unless we're doing a run with Survival of the Fittest run, we just take King's Man as a -4 population event.
I also hope Slenderman will be back, last year they discounted my bundle because they run out of stock and Slendy wasn't restocked since then. What's probably worth noting is that backerkit pricetag doesn't include taxes, which is normal only in US. Last year I backed COD and the price tag was $307,50 (23% VAT).
We both agreed that older white boxes might not be as common as previous Black Fridays. This lead to us both assuming it would be mostly newer stuff. So if you have been keeping up with white boxes, then yeah, best to temper expectations. I still think we will see some neat new thing, like 15th anniversary survivors.
@BraMithra thank you for the recommendations from yourself and the Aluminum Man, I'm sure everyone appreciates it. If you don't mind, would you say it's worth getting just Dragon King and Sunstalker to unlock PotSun and Stars campaigns? Or do they need more than just themselves to get the most out of the campaigns?
@@Urnimin Both are great expansions. I think if you're okay with the variety of quarry monsters from the Core game, and you more want to experience a different type of campaign they'd be great additions. One of the cool things- if you purchased both you'd be able to slot the Sunstalker into a PotStars campaign, and a Dragon King into a PotSun campaign! Without a node 4, it would give you some more options for weapons and armor.
I remembered the other day that all the Philosophies come with some miniatures. Regular white boxes right now are ~$30 USD for a mini and a handful of cards, so $45 for a Philosophy, some cards and a miniature doesn't seem too unreasonable of a price increase in KDM's pricing structure.
Thank you @@TheAluminumMan! I didn't know that, I thought it's just a booklet. Still game content wise, it's insane pricing. And if you compare 3 x (booklet+miniature) to eg. Dragon King expansion, it just seems silly on every angle. I haven't played gamblers chest yet though, so maybe I'm underestimating how much they influence the game.
For someone with Core and GCE, having no expansions, I was thinking of backing CoD and getting a few expansions. Would your recommendations for expansions change at all with GCE in mind?
Intresting question. Node 1s have a lot of value. So gorm , frog dog to go with the croc and white lion would be good vareity. I really like gigalion that's just white box and not as much content but worth picking up on sale.
My recommendation at this point is going to lean into the Node 2 and Node 3 monsters. For Node 2 you're going to have Screaming Antelope and Smog Singers between Core and GCE, so adding in the Flower Knight or Spidicules would be a good purchase to build out variety. For Node 3 you're only going to have the Phoenix, so I would really recommend picking up Sunstalker or Dragon King so you can swap that piece out. I'm pretty partial to Sunstalker at the moment due to all the People of the Suns oriented content we talked about in the video.
If you have 0 older expansions and no GCE, then you do not need CoD. We mention in the video that we both feel GCE should be the thing to get if you do not own it and are willing to spend that amount of money on anything. CoD updates old expansions to be in line with GCE and current ones. That is all it does.
Which digital items will go on sale would be the best deal? I have the core digital and I love it so much I'm almost thinking about buy the physical copy.
Thank you for the recommendations and discussion as always :) Looking forward to the stream on BF

God this is going to be my 15th one of these? Time flies, I'm hoping for a Full Barbarian Set or another set of generic heroes this year.
Full barbaric set would be neat. It is in CoD, but perhaps we get them without content.
I "pre-ordered" 4 of the next expansions on backerkit during black friday last year, so yes, it was possible to pre-order them.
Hell, did you recommend the full philosophie of dead?
How mich their inprove existing campagn?
I dont find any info for this product

Yeah, best bet is to keep asking on KS and hope it makes it to the community garden.

Not sure what they'll have, but I'm looking forward to it. A friend of mine went to gencon and i managed to have him get me the sci-fi butcher.
It is hard to speculate what they will have, but I think the things we mentioned are all likely to be there. With I think the Sun Erza and Lucy may not, but I am confident in all the others.
Inverted mountain, I KSed all new stuff, I am assuming I am OK for all the required, but I am on holiday so hard to check, can any confirm?
Yes. If you have all the new stuff from KS2 you will good to go.
I bet the Ultimate Showdown board will be on sale for a discount, because I bought it about a month ago instead of waiting. LOL
Thanks Bra, this is extremely helpful! My wallet is now ready!
Glad it was helpful!

I just hope that there is more stock available within the non US warehouses.

Yeah, King's Man and Hand are the first ones that players seek to replace. I hope Slenderman is in stock, it will be a great deal.
One way to "fix" lion God for 1.6 is make him a special showdown so it does not waste a latern year. Cool "fight" but rewards mixed
🤞Silver City Expansion Expansion will fix everything.
Yes

Do you know why additional philosophies are so expensive? It's crazy that 3 cost the same as Frogdog, Black Knight or the Dragon King.
