Great job on the cooling solution. Vapor Chamber + Heat pipes + 3 fans sounds promising. Cant wait to see test results! I doubt any other company will beat ASUS on this.
Asus Rog has outdone themselves this year with the design. 360 RGB light, easily accessible bottom, unique gamery design are nice. The only thing I can nitpick is the hinge, only 2 small hinge connecting screen & keyboards, prefer the design of legion or acer predator Helios as hinge are more sturdy with closer contact between lid & keyboards.
Why does the 2025 Strix SCAR 18 have the Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX, and not the flagship Core Ultra 9 285HX? I don’t understand. Does that particular chip produce less heat or something? It does have 100 MHz less Performance-core Base Frequency and Performance-core Max Turbo Frequency ASUS needs to provide some information as to why they chose to put this particular CPU in the system
@@The-Oldest-Dream Yes, that same thought had crossed my mind. Perhaps you’re right. I believe ASUS may have done this in order to keep the price of the system below the £4000 mark… Or they’ll possibly release a more higher-end Strix SCAR 18 model later on down the line that has the Intel Core Ultra 9 285HX, RTX 5090, 64GB of RAM, and a UHD 4K+ (3840x2400) screen
@@GuntasSingh After having a look at so many different 2025 gaming laptops from numerous manufacturers at CES 2025, I’ve come to learn that many of these laptops seem to have the Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX in them, and strangely enough, it actually costs more to manufacture the 275HX than the 285HX, at least according to Intel’s website. Laptop manufacturers seem to prefer having that one in their systems Make of that what you will, but I personally don’t care all that much about it since the 275HX only has 100 MHz less clock-speed. Perhaps that will help slightly to reduce overall CPU temp during high-workloads and gaming. You certainly won’t notice any meaningful performance differences between the 285HX and the 275HX on the actual laptop screens during normal usage, they both perform almost identical
@@luimaci wrong they are essentially desktop chips as they share the same CPU ID as their desktop counterparts and Videocardz describes them as basically desktop chips stuffed into laptops.
I get that dedicating the back of the laptop for cooling can eek a bit more performance, but the ports (especially the power adapter) being on the side is annoying. Why would you want to turn your laptop into a spaghetti monster every time you set it up to play a game?

This is exciting, but it still feels a bit off in terms of the design. I think that the 2027 version will be THE ONE (or 2026 if they don't decide to keep the design for another year)

Intel CPU 🤣 LMAO inmediate hard pass until you throw a good AMD CPU in there. Dont kid yourselves, nobody should pay strix scar prices with an Intel CPU inside. An X3D chip or nothing.
The tool-less upgradeability is awesome. Great job on that
We need to go tool-less in the future with all laptops
when is the release date
I like how easy to upgrade rams storage
so easy to clean the fans now too
When will it be available to buy in Germany?

New zephyrus duo when?
Zephyrus and Strix all in one, awesome!
Hey any chance you have plans on releasing a scar 18 with the AMD 9955HX3D CPU in the USA market?
Nope, you have to buy MSI for that

OLED = BURN IN
BURN = LOW RESALE VALUE
OLED =PWM

It's Mini LED which is more brighter than IPS panels and no burn in issues.
