    Down the serpent spun
    Down down
    Into murky waters.
    Once glorious, now artifact
    Once dragon, now wyrm.
It had soared the night air
    Glided, twirled, dove, alighted
    A reflection of the sun.
But now it sits in the sea below.
    Fare thee well, O Dragon
There will be none to replace you
    Except man,
    And his endless machinations
    His cursed abominations.

Blessed are we to pine for what has been.
But nations respond not to qualms of twine.
A new age sets new life beyond thought fin
Bask in the joy of others not of mine.

    Daffodil O daffodil
    Won’t you laugh a lil
    Daffodil O daffodil
    Won’t you give a trill
    Daffodil O daffodil
    Sunspots and hard pill
    What became of thrill
    Daffodil O daffodil
    The work is a mill
    It bothers me nill
    For you are my quill
    Daffodil O daffodil
    I have will
    To drop ill
    For my fill
    Of all we’ll
    Twill

Creative responses involving original poetry are such a gift. Thank you! Your choice of flower reminds me of that line from Wordsworth’s “I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud.” If that was an intentional allusion, it was a great one, as Wordsworth is suggesting that Nature’s beauty-particularly that of daffodils dancing in a field-makes him actively happy: “A poet could not but be gay, / In such a jocund company” (ll.15-16). Director Shawn Levy, and star Ryan Reynolds, definitely want their audience to laugh a lot, to be “gay” in the archaic sense (though I can imagine Reynolds punning on this word for yet another laugh, given the chance); they want us to be bothered “nil” [not at all] and instead “thrill[ed].”
By “drop[ping] ill” for your “fill,” are you intimating the entertainment we can gain from troubling material-when we allow ourselves that freedom?
And . . . what do you mean by “twill”? I assume this is not a sartorial reference?

@@diginthedirt How fun! I had a lot of thoughts from writing this poem, but I feel it would take annoyingly wrong to read... I'll do bullet points
      - I was not alluding to "I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud," (dang it!) but I was going for a flower that communicates blind joy and happiness.
      - You are correct, I do feel Shawn Levy and Ryan Reynolds want their audience to laugh and be "gay" in the archaic sense
      - from Shawn Levy's perspective, I believe it is his wish for the audience to connect with the artistic vision he had, and in that sense, to drop feelings of troubling material for a more meaningful experience with Deadpool & Wolverine
      - Twill is a sartorial reference. I was thinking of the final outcome striven for by producers: the fine suit on stage accepting an award/honor among a cheering crowd.
      - now flip the perspective around. The speaker is no longer the producer, or star Ryan Reynolds, ... it is someone like you or I, who would be upset at a shift of an established story or character. Given a fulfilling and final ending, only to be brought back in a comedic and daffodil fashion.
      - This new perspective is about nostalgia, where I would reminisce on the days of old, the good memories I had from a completed story.
      - "to drop ill for my fill" is now a desire to go back to what once was
      - twill denotes a woven fabric, and that makes me think of an experience that has become a part of me, that has been woven into me. For you this might be the wolverine films of old. And so it feels sad, like something has been lost, and can no longer be knit further.
      - "what became of thrill"? For what I once held is no longer there.
There are some more thoughts, but not as specific to your video.
      Cheers!
