If you want to hear a muse influenced band that sounds fresh and original, i recommend checking out the Danish rock band "Loksmith", especially the song "Invisible Cages". They only have 4 official songs although their many unreleased songs sound spectacular.
muse have loads of amazing solos, but this is one of the best...u should watch a quick video called matts magic fingers, its him playing "new born" up close just focusing on his fingers, absolutely insane guitarist.
