I bought a Vespa GTS 300 Super a few weeks ago, in white also. I am impressed about it so far! I rode motorcycle's before and got rid of mine to make room for my Vespa. Reason's why I bought a Vespa, due to a population boom where I live, the traffic is much heavier, so using a clutch is more of a nuisance than an automatic. Take's up less space in my small garage, better mph, lower maintenance cost. My jeep is getting up there in the year's, and so is the cost to maintain it, and I am not ready to buy a car. I don't miss the whole open the choke song and dance either, lol. I start it up, let it warm up a bit and go. Yes, it is slow off the line, but it does increase speed rather quickly and so smooth that I keep an eye on the speedometer to make sure that I am not exceeding the posted speed limit. Oh, I live in Florida in the U.S.A., so nice weather almost all year round here. I'm looking forward to your video's and will review the other's. I saw what you didn't like, and didn't subscribe then because as a new buyer, I did not want to see negativity at that moment, lol. All good now, I am subbed.
Sparky's Cove Thanks for the comment. I've always had motorcycles and love the versatility of my Vespa. You are lucky riding one on Florida, very nice. I've got a video on things I don't like about it but I'm just editing that at the moment. Thanks for watching and also thank you for subscribing. Ride safe.
Did you see under the engine . shocking corrosion and rust ,just like my 2016 one did inside 6 months even when I washed it with soapy water etc.Still got it as its fun to ride though and like the economy and ease of cabling up to roadside railings
Looks like you need to get aquainted with Waxoyl Lurgs. Brushed on with a paint brush every few months will stop corrosion on the engine cases, nuts and bolts, fork & damper tubes, floor pan etc. in fact anywhere the salty road spray can reach. Great video by the way. I've got a Burgman 400 but been thinking of a Vespa, they're just so stylish! Ride safe.
Yes indeed, I had it second hand but if I had a new one I would have treated it straight away. BUT I've also got a VW T5 and I don't expect to have to treat that underneath! Poor quality from Piaggio especially as they cost so much money. Ride safe too, it's always other people you gotta worry about! Take care. 🏍
i love how you can open the seat without the key on the pre 2020 models. Now you have to have the key in and electrical turned on to use that button. Total pain
You didn't say anything about its front trailing arm suspension. I am interested in that because it is unique to Vespa. Is it really better than the telescopic suspension?
ulagathamilan I don't know if it's any better but it's very comfortable. I've always had motorcycles before so I thought the small wheels would be a problem but it's fine. Plenty of grunt from the 278cc engine.
Its great suspension. Vespa use this suspension from beginning. 80 yeras or so. No problems at all. But i have advice for scooter drievers it’s better to break with both breaks in same time.
Dude get rid of the box it’s horrible. It’s burning my eyes. Convenience is not worth sacrificing the aesthetic of the classic original design floating box free. Lol other than that sick bike. Sick vid.
takoneko17 I agree the box is ugly and does slow it down a bit. But it's good carrying a pillion and good for helmet storage. It's annoying coz I had a back box on my Vespa ET4 which had 1 bolt so you could remove it in 60 seconds. There's no quick release on this which is a design flaw. Glad you enjoyed the video

Guess you've seen my other videos on the GTS. Overall it's a fantastic ride and very practical and plenty of power. Not sure where you live but the build quality underneath is poor. Deffo worth looking into that on a 2nd hand one. Can be fixed if only surface rust.
Lurgs yes just started watching a bunch of your videos on the Vespa. Thanks so much for the fast reply and advice. We do get rain and I will definitely check for anything more than surface rust.
I see a lot of corrosion on yours. How? When do you wash it? It doesn't seem like it's old enough to be in that kind of shape? Mine still looks brand new. I wash it about once every couple weeks.
It's garaged and barely use it in the wet. It's just very poor quality underneath. I've got another video about the Rust and lots of other comments, guy in Florida with rust issues!
@@LurgsHowToGuides I just don't understand. I live on the East Coast in Brevard County, Florida. My house is within walking distance of the river to the barrier islands next to the ocean. I ride mine every day rain or shine (as long as it's not raining on my way to work). The heat here is incredible and beats down on paint jobs. The salt is relatively heavy, especially beachside. Where do you live? Are they potentially built different overseas?
Chris Kirkman I live South Coast of England so winter is harsh but to be honest it had traces of rust underneath when I bought it at 2 years old! when I took it for an MOT the garage had one with a big hole in the chassis where it had rotted away. It's very poor
I have several Vespas the oldest one (ET2) just became 18 ,weather in Germany is similar, but I can't complain about rust at all. Even the original exaust ist in perfect condition and underneath no rust either. I must admit, I usually avoid rain, I ride it only from March til October and I wash it regularly including wax . Lurgs Vespa seems to be exposed to salted roads during the winter months. The Vespa should resist these conditions but it's always a good idea to remove the salt with a lot of water and use a wax product regularly. My GTS300 is just 2 years old and still in factory condition after 4000 miles.

Yeh the next model after this has ABS and traction control (apparently not great) and the digital dashboard which I personally do not like. I prefer analogue dashboards. Not sure about the fuel injection years, but the engine is brilliant.
It doesn't feel too bad to me. I've always had motorbikes with far more power but this seems like a good compromise. Away from the lights it feels as quick as anything out there.
I've had mine (2015 model), with the "Euro-spec" Flyscreen, up to an "official" 85mph (absolute maximum on these things), and stability is decent. Max cruising speed is around 75mph, no issues.
*I'm so perturbed by the RUST and crud shown on the rear drive-train bolts I can hardly bear it!* ( *I would be frantic if my Honda had any of that!* ) *Perhaps I'm a little 'anal' on such an issue...but that rust is so glaringly obvious it's maddening!* )
